If we are to say that the Ballon d'or is not a popularity contest and truly it is given to most deserving in terms of titles and cups won, IMHO Benzema should be top runner to win this Ballon d'Or having a world cup medal and Nations League medal to his name. Benzema is on a fantastic form and has performed and scored against big teams, he deserves to be recognised.

The duo of Ronaldo and Messi have made the award monotonous and boring as it usually awarded to them probably because they actually have performed better but this time around there are crops of players too who are deserving for the award like lewandoski, jorjinho, mbappe can come to the party. These players have also performed very well. Mbappe for instance have been in form.

Lets remove Christiano Ronaldo and lionel messi from this picture,at least they have been a drastic competition for over 11years between these great players which ended in the ratio of 5:6 respectively.
I'm critically looking at Mbappe on his current form and i think he's got what most attackers has failed to adapt to; speed,accuracy,influence on pitch,body balance,skills,pace and what have you...
So i think he's on the right path to claiming this year's ballon d'or.
Another bone of contention is 'Erling halland'. Now,i think these player is on great form and could also stand a chance to contest for the best player.
The ballon d'or looks difficult for most players that haven't devoted their time and life to make it,but easy for the ones that does otherwise

It does not matter who wins the UCL, it depends on the players also, there are cases Ballon d'or winners was not among the players of the club that won UCL. Lionel Messi won the last one two years ago but Bayern Munich won champions league at the time and there are cases like that in the past.

One thing I have noticed about C. Ronaldo, he is more ambitious to win Champions League but Real Madrid is the glory he had. He has no two reasons he chose Juventus, Juventus always qualify for champions quarter final and many times semi final when Ronaldo was in Real Madrid, it could be the reason he went to Juventus to be the best club.

I hope he will play good in Manchester United, but it can never be like the Ferguson time for Man United, his stay in Manchester United may not lead to a single win for Champions League just like Juventus. In standford bridge, I could not believe they were happy for the last minute goal scored against Villarreal, the second leg will come and we will see the outcome. To my best of knowledge Manchester United is not performing the best I think of them as the players have to be focused on rather than depending on Ronaldo if they truly want to win Champions League. PSG has been trying to win this league title, no one knows who will be the winner but I doubt if Manchester United will go far.

C. Ronaldo and L. Messi should not win Ballon d'or anymore, they have tried by wining 5 and 6 times respectively, there are many other players like them, they should not win it. Just like you know exactly who I will choose, Lewandoski is a very good Bayern player, it plays good and is worth to win Ballon d'or, there are still many good other players that can be choosen which will make the whole thing lively.

This is sport, there is nothing impossible.

NO,I think that Messi will NOT win the Ballon d'or anymore.
My favorites are Benzema and Mohamed Salah.Karim Benzema is a great player with great contribution for Real Madrid(even though I don't like Real Madrid).
Salah is a top class player,who deserves to win the Baloon d'or.Jurgen Klop said that Salah is at the level of Messi and Ronaldo.
Bonucci is also my favorite.He had a great career in the Italian footaball and he won Euro 2020.
Ronaldo is too old to win Ballon d'or.
Erling Haaland is probably the best striker right now,but he doesn't have any major trophies with his club and his national team.

the time has finally come for Robert Lewandowski to win this long-awaited award. last year, when the event was cancelled due to covid-19, he was the very big favorite to win this trophy.
he achieved so much last year as well as this year, and his performances have always remained at a very high level, or rather, have steadily gone uphill.
what has L. Messi achieved in the same time apart from the copa...?

If not for what happened last year (Not being awarded), I'm quite sure that Lewandoski would have won it alongside the Uefa player of the year in a deserving fashion.. but does Messi deserve yes he does, if we aren't going to judge by Barcelona performance, but he's individual brilliance over the course of the year and as well he's performance at the Copa America (which I think would make a huge impact on the votes).

I'd be happy if Messi wins and he well deserved it but I guess Lewandowski is also close to the award this time. He broke Müller's record, it was a great season in Bundesliga. I think people underestimate Lewa's achievements, it's pretty absurd he never win Ballon d'Or if you ask me. If he played for Real Madrid he'd already got at least two of them. Bayern lobby is not that big as we can see.
I don't think Chelsea players or Italians would win it as both teams were not carried by only one player. In Argentina case things are different though. Messi played a big part in that cup.

I personally I think the Ballon d'ot is  some fucked up award based on popularity, and we all know who's very popular among the shortlisted players right now, Messi and then CR7

OP is neymar and pedri placed as one player, I think pedri has had a very eventful year, for country and club, spain and Barcelona respectively, so if he is on the thirty man list he deserves it, everyone on that list deserves it, but I think some other Baryern Munich players should be in the list, players like kimmich a very versatile German player, or gnabry regardless it's really an unpredictable ballon d'or but if am to drop it's to top ten in no particular order

Honestly for me the first pick would be Robert Lewandowski because he is scoring in every match and plays like this for couple of years and for me no one comes close to how good he is now. Messi dosent deserve it because of his club achivements this year.

Actually, I still don't know the classification of which player deserves the Ballon d'Or when talking about the championship title, of course I think Messi is no longer one of the players who will win this title, and neither is Ronaldo because these two goats are very minimal in the trophy last season.
but when the current media say that messi is still very suitable, maybe it can happen and if that's the case, ronaldo still has the same chance considering his performance is still impressive.

If we need to watch trophies the winner must be Jorghino, winning the UCL with Chelsea, Best FIFA player award for Euro 2020 (played this summer) and winner of Euro 2021 with Italy.

I think you had a auto correct moment and you meant to write the winner is Cristanio Ronaldo, what has *Messi done to win it this year?. Also it’ll be interesting if someone else wins it, because their era is definitely on the end but will they get to win it one last time fingers crossed in excitement.
