The hacking vulnerability of your main wallet will be lessen as you do this since you didn't import your private keys. For full protection, always use metamask.

That's correct, you don't have to post it and don't ever post it even in your emails. Keep it offline and write it down on a piece of paper so no one can gain access to you but only you. Don't expose it that it is your private key. Do something creative by keeping it or jumbling with other words that a crypto folk won't understand that it is your private key.
