My way of security is that i dont keep all my coins in exchange i just keep that much coin which i trade and if anything happens nothing will effect me as every week i just take out my profit and only keep the initial trading coins in the exchange. I keep my wallets in offline computers which i use only for wallet access purpose. For daily working i use separate desktop so like this i am safe from getting my wallet hacked.

You stil can secure your asset with the things which is your mentioned above such as do not give your private keys to someone else but regarding use exchange then for their securities system you can not do more for that because if someday the exchange got hack then nothing you can do unless accept it and indeed the tips still such as people says that do not save all of your funds to an exchange for long term and i think this is the best advice at this time

The recent happenings of  hack are becoming rampant that exchanges are no longer safe. If the exchanges can get hacked this means you and me stand no chance at all so in view of this if you can do get cold wallet/ Web wallet to keep ur funds safe,  never leave ur long term bags on any exchange.

Do not visit random links and also stay away from airdrops requiring your private keys or Passphrase.

Do not store your private key or passphrase online.

It's called a private key or passphrase because only you should have it and not even the developers of the app has access to it and that is why if you lose your keys you have equally lost your walllet.

Stay positive and waiting for the bull run.
Stay safe everyone!

Phishing attacks are now starting to develop well, even experts are often caught in the trap of phishing links that will be redirected to the owner's original account, we should be aware of threats like this

Thanks for an educational thread. I think most important thing is to keep your wallet keys safe and never post them anywhere.

And don't just click an any phishing links from the strangers/ someone that you didn't know or in any website. It's better to make a lot of research, protect your personal information especially your keys.
that is what we must do, we must be more careful in storing and securing our private keys, and do not tell anyone about our private keys, other than the people we truly trust, because our private keys are of course very valuable , so we have to be more careful in caring for him and really paying attention it.

I do agree with this! people should be more vigilant in all aspects especially cryptocurrency is a internet based transactions. Hackers are becoming more and more intelligent so even a highly secured exchanges can penetrate by these greedy people. Always read and research first before junping into a transaction or whatever you do in cryptocurrency world.

I agree with your opinion, in this era we should be very careful with the links, the web that we have mentioned to prevent hackers. Choose a good operating system on your computer, pay attention to your security, stay away from the links that strangers send to you. Do not let the unfortunate happen.

To keep safe of your token, we need to keep everything is needed. Like using exchange platform you need to activate 2FA for us not to be hack our account in the exchange. Then most of the exchange has KYC you/we must past it also if necessary, moreover, if you are using MEW always keep the private key on safest place which you are the only one knows about it also.
in my opinion, I only secure my wallet and coin with myself and the existing security applications on Google that I believe to be just like that and easy to implement and run...

It is also very important to start with keeping your e-mailbox safe, as all of the hacking starts with e-mails. From having someone's e-mail it's more than halfway to get someones account on crypto exchanges hacked. Just an advice, use the 2fa verification, such as Google Authenticator or other apps to keep it safe and change the passwords from time to time, to make it even safer.

Hacking is not a surprise since everything now in crypto revolves in the internet. But it is up to us to secure our own funds for us not to be hacked.

I think to best way to safe yourself with this scammy things, you have to spread your risks. Open more than 1 wallet for bitcoin and for the altcoins. Use more than 1 exchange. If you get scam you wouldn't loose everything with this way. I have 3 BTC and more than 10 ETH wallet and i am working with again more than 10 exchanges. Spread it, don't get risks.

Hackers are spreading all over the net so we must be extra careful and vigilant for every transaction for we don't know when they will attack us.

I have a friend who lost a significant amount of tokens in an exchange wallet and from that point forward I'm really careful about it. Only leave the amount you are going to be trading and be careful of which link you are clicking.

there is nothing new about exchange hacks. they have been happening from the day the exchanges started and most of them aren't even hacks. it is the exchange scamming you. and because of that the safety of exchanges has not changed.

this only concerns traders not everyone. and everyone is not a trader to be considered about this!
not to mention that you always keep your trading funds on exchanges, in other words funds that you want to have access to every day. and you already accepted this risk. otherwise you shouldn't be even trading!

also stop thinking about making money from something that is not designed to make you money!
most of these problems (exchanges scamming, airdrops scamming, Ponzi schemes,...) are happening because of that greed!

Of course, caution is very necessary when saving crypto money. Those who are already careful are often still deceived by the existence of a scamer which is always detrimental and often loses because of it

Safety in everything we do is key.  Before investing at all we need to get security aspect figured out,  offline wallet would have been a safe means yet you still have to import your fund, with great invest comes high ends security measures like ledgers and the likes.
Simple tips never use 1 password twice.
