I got dual xenon-5670's 32 cores curious if I should mine with it.

I have two Xeons (16 cores total) Dell server at work that was idling, and decided to use it for mining. Started solo mining Credits CRDS few months ago, but now moved to Webchain, because I like this new project and think it can develop well in the future. WEB isn't in any exchange yet.

What kind of hash rate are you getting with this? Also what algo WEB is using? I would've mined some other good coins as well if I had a powerful CPU Smiley

Xenon lol Cheesy

People here mine using a single laptop, and you are wondering if you should mine
using two server class CPUs!?! Mine on!

*as long as you can afford the electricity bill.

you must be mining either with some monster i7 laptop or digging the most profitable CPU coin ever. Please tell us how you mine against servers in data centers with a single laptop.

I am newbie and mining xpr coin- cpu mining only with my laptop.

Previously I asked here is it worth but I am convinced now as the roadmap looks good and more important I am mining with just Laptop and I am not  doing any investment.  I joined their official discord community https://discord.gg/nnRfP8e  from their website to get developers advice also.

Don't mine with your laptop. It is not designed for such loaded. Your ware will more than the income you gain.

And please does it my laptop will breakdown? Because for sometime now, I feel my laptop is becoming sluggish and I am attributing it to windows. I have GPU though (old one GT 840M). will you advice I use it to mine any altcoin?

Just don't use all the threads and watch the CPU and memory utilization. I mine that way. Also I use my spare laptop so mining software is never installed on the one I use for personal stuff.  I am mining on my laptop for almost a year now and I have earn to buy couple or more laptops if this one breaks.

Laptops are designed to be mobile. They have limited inner space and limited cooling. There is a HUGE chance that you overheat your laptop and finally kill it.

Instead of showing how many "coins" or "tokens" you will mine, why do some one show how profitable of a coin in the unit of BTC?

Becuse btc is all that really matters. What is the point of mining  thoughts of Tokens a second if they are only worth 1/billion a c.

Forget about CPU mining coin. This type of coin usually shit-coin. And believe me, it will never grow if you only depend on the CPU to secure your coin's network.
Several coins can be mined with both CPU and GPU like Monero and other Cyryptonight based algorithm. But remember that you're also compete with GPU rigs, therefore your profit will be really small.

Why are you giving such bad advice when you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

Many of us are making good money mining cpu only coins (yes some are even finally gpu mineable with minimum gains).
Simple fact is, that some of us spend days / weeks, even months finding coins, so are unlikely to give away the crown jewels, at least not in public.

For the record, right at this moment in time i am making nearly double cpu mining over gpu mining, you've just got to look really hard.

Unitus is a good coin mineable with CPU. It can also be mined with GPU, but CPU mining is also profitable. There is 5 algos which protect the blockchain. Some coins are too hard to mine, but this one is still ok for an old CPU or a notebook. You should have a look at it. Unitus is also going to be POS at the end of June or July.

X11 is one of the algos it supports. It is supported by ASICs. That means CPU an GPU is useless. Zpool has 42TH pointed at it right now on x11.
How can you beat that with laptop CPU?

As far as i can tell each algo has its own difficulty and reward, so in any given 24hrs the total coins mined per algo is equal.
I could be wrong thou.
