I sell my altcoin once the value of it hit to my target price or expected value. Most of the time, i'm setting target price before I sell my altcoin to ensure my investment will earn good return. Thus, setting your goal or target is good strategy because it give an assurance that your investment will generate good profit in the future.

When I buy low or microcaps I sell 50% as soon as they go 2-3x. I'm not a good trader yet and for me this is the best strategy. That way I'm not stressed so much during the dips. Also, regarding my mid or big caps - sometimes I sell them before the big news and rebuy after some time, at the lower price.
