Although there are a few states that have not yet released their voting results, I still have faith in their people's support for Trump. As in the last vote, these states count the ballots in the end and will often support Trump.
The vote is extremely close. The remaining chances for the two candidates are nearly the same, even though Trump insists he will win.

I have been watching this thread from a long time but never left a comment since I really do not have much idea about US politics. Now that you are guys are at the end game, I would like to say good luck to both suchmoon and eddie.

It's not looking 50/50 now. I would say Biden is fairly well ahead. Still it will be too early to make a conclusion so fingers crossed to both of you.

The graphics tells nothing. All depends on the results of Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina and Wisconsin.
Trump is leading on the first four states on that list and wining them would keep him President.

His lead right now means little as well since they are only now beginning to start counting the votes made before yesterday (of which 60-70% should be for Biden).

For example, right now Trump has a lead in counted votes in Georgia, but the NYTimes has Biden as a slight favorite to win the state.

Come on baby, eddie's wallet needs this WIN!!

Still feeling 50/50 really..

I had begun to write a long essay re my epic charity bet with theymos, analysing (among other things) Trump’s chances, and calling it 50/50.  Unfortunately, I did not have time to finish it timely.  (Some other parts may still be relevant after this is over.)  I know that I said somewhere else already, it’s a coin-flip.

I may also have mentioned this before somewhere:  To be exciting, this reality-TV show has all along been balanced on a knife’s edge.  Trump’s rôle has always been to be the political underdog, who will either barely win—or barely lose.  And the biased liberal media are indubitably full of shit; anybody who was comforted by them (or scared by them) is stupid.

It was wise of me to take an even-odds bet on Trump.  You, too.

Other reply to you is intended.

Well the polls close in around 3 hours from now. If I did not have plans for the early morning I would have stayed up and watched some of the results come in. I think most polls are showing Biden is heading to the White House and Trump is heading to the history books for being the third president since World War II to have served one-term.

Keeping Gerald Ford aside because he never actually won an election instead he took office for the remainder of the Nixon term after he resigned and also keeping Lyndon B Johnson aside because he served 2 years of the Kennedy term plus the 4 years when he stood for election then refused to stand for a full second term - it leaves just Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush as the only one term presidents since World War II that lost an election while being the incumbent. I think polls are showing Trump will be joining that list.

If Trump manages to pull off a victory then it will be a shock to most but if he did it against Hillary Clinton in 2016 then it is possible for him to do it against Biden in 2020 too.

What was the mood around the area when you were waiting in line to cast your vote? Did voters give any indications about them being more towards Trump or Biden?

Voted this morning..
Small town, long line..
Kinda know the people running it, they say turnout is huge..
No line in 2016 when I voted then, line this time took about 20 minutes to get into the building..

Watching on cnn.. They aren’t seeming all that confident in a Biden victory like they were for Hillary in 2016 either..

Maybe 25% wearing masks Wink

Have been experiencing the same thing in my area. Seems like lines are long while a TON of people have already voted either through early voting, or through mail in (absentee) voting.

Lines are pretty long, though they're going fast enough in my area to where people aren't mad about that.

Kinda curious on people who live in like Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, etc and how lines are there. Probably pretty insane.

If Trump loses I won't riot, scream in the streets, slit my wrists, or cry.. Probably won't even be that surprised..

I wish more red voters were like you. People these days, they get triggered when even the smallest political event doesn’t go their way. It would be wrong to say blues don’t get emotional too.  Huh

I hope whoever loses, would accept their defeat in a democratic way and not conspire for interference from internal and external forces. May they respect the voters' mandate.

@actmyname - thank you for the link

When the President of the USA makes nonsensical comments such as those tweeted it clearly shows he is unfit for the position he is employed in. That should hopefully signal the end of his Trump brand ambitions either in hotels, golf courses or real estate in Turkey unless of course he gets re-elected to become a two-term president and utilises his time to repair damaged relations with Turkey.

What I noticed was the comment left where Trump was called the "greatest president ever" by someone and the swift reply that followed it.

Fact check:  Is that a real quote?  (If yes, link please?)  Something seems (cough) just a wee bit hinky about it; and it’s not wise to spread satirical quotes without some obvious marker of it being just that.

So....I really hope Biden wins tomorrow.

Just want to say publicly that if he does win, I intend to put effort into not rubbing it in or being a vengeful asshole.  I probably won't be able to resist entirely, but hopefully the act of posting this will make it less likely I get carried away and go overboard with the trolly gloating.

Please gloat to your hearts content.. Enjoy Smiley
I can take it..

If Trump loses I won't riot, scream in the streets, slit my wrists, or cry.. Probably won't even be that surprised..

On the other hand, you guys seem so sure of yourselves that I almost hope Biden wins purely for the sake of your mental stability and personal safety..
It won't be the end of the world guys, live to shill marxism another day Smiley  (either way, you seem to be on the winning team worldwide)

Even with Trump, I'm quite blackpilled.. One more little nail in the coffin for the future of the free world is quite meh..
The American Experiment has come to a close.. The good times it has created in turn have created too abundant a population of weak overly empathetic and ignorant people so willing to trust authority and think a government can solve all their problems they blame on anything and everything but themselves..
If anything, it will only lessen my respect for any authority and push me further toward individual anarchism (nice way to say "outlaw")..

Oh and nulli.. The USA IS the world police, and I'm damn awful glad that it's the USA and not some gulag fisted communists.. Could be much worse..
On that note, I think ending colonialism may have been a great mistake.. I can think of many 3rd world countries that would be better off under foreign western rule because they obviously just don't have the intelligence to get their shit together on their own in years since..
National sovereignty for wildlings? I mean really, you must be redpilled on IQ no?

Something like- "a well-informed electorate is a prerequisite to democracy."
"Well-informed" requires high intelligence, the aptitude for delay of gratification, and unselfishness for a democracy to work.. Which we have lost..
The only way it will work is with an intelligent and informed voting population that votes for the future of the country/people (liberty) rather than what might be best for themselves RIGHT NOW ("free" shit)..

Where do you think it went wrong nulli?
Giving non-property owners the right to vote? Giving women, young, minorities, recent immigrants, non english speakers, etc. the right to vote? Or was it just doomed from the start?

Actually it turns out Trump, just like Obama, Bush Jr., Clinton, Bush Sr., Reagan, ...long list... has been enabling Erdogan meddling more than keeping him in line meddling (like other authoritarian world leaders people about whom Americans have opinions), despite the with much rhetoric.

Ironic that I was adding this edit to my last post when you posted:

National sovereignty.  How’s that for a real, old-fashioned conservative value?

The “neoconservative” agenda is the the nadir of liberalism.

So, the “liberal” and the “conservative” agree, after a fashion:  America should be the world-police.  (The rest is a matter of details.)  Do I need to draw another Coke-Pepsi cartoon?

Lest anybody misread this as an anti-Trump post, may I remind you that Obama also loved murdering faraway people with drone strikes; and Clinton starved a half-million Iraqi children to death with grossly unjust economic sanctions, before Bushy, Jr. hopped in to finish making his daddy’s mess—thus clearing the way for the rise of that ISIS thing that Trump seems to be pretending that America wants to stop.

No.  This is not an anti-Trump post:  This is an anti-American post.

I will admit that despite his rhetoric, Trump was slightly less of a bloody warmonger than Obama was in practice.  If you care about this, do not vote for Biden!

If anything the people of Turkey should be grateful that Trump is keeping the dictator of Turkey more in line. Otherwise, you will have Obama/Biden doing nothing with countries start gassing their own citizens.

Of course his obvious conflict of interest only makes things more complicated...

I don't see your point about this. Are you trying to imply that if a country does not follow international norms, they should not be held accountable? Are you saying a country can take action to make the world more dangerous without consequence?

America is not the world-police.

America is not the world-police.

America is not the world-police.

This is not an anti-Trump post, per se, insofar as his opposition cannot be expected to be any better, no matter what they may say.  By analogy, Obama was Bush III in terms of warmongering foreign policy, especially with that rabid bitch Hillary as Secretary of State.  It’s an American thing.  Thus, this is a classic Nullian anti-American post.

Much though I am not a partisan for the Turks, hasn’t America made enough of a bloody mess in the Near East?  And what the hell was that shot about Europe, the long-suffering victim of the American Empire’s mass-destructive tantrums and the fallout thereof?

I would be inclined to grant that Trump was being sarcastic—but it seemed to be in the “hah, hah—only serious” sense.  And it is indeed a serious matter.

Never trust the Americans.
America’s spreading of the Orwellian American idea of “freedom” is NOT WELCOME.

To be “liberated” by Americans is to be enslaved by them, if not killed outright.

Of course, I do not mean that all individual Americans approve of all the work of bombing countries into “liberation” under the imposition of American-approved régimes, to “make the world safe for democracy”.  In fact, I am sure that many individuals disapprove.  That may be unfortunate.
