But I can't do any of that right now because I blew my free hit, so now I need to micromanage for GW29 big blank.
GW29 is still long way off and we don't know exactly who is blanking so how are you managing for that? I am now managing for double 25 and blank 26. More than enough.

Fulham vs Spurs and Burnley vs Brentford is on so that helps a little.

I already have Toney, and plan to stockpile Spurs and maybe Brentford assets. I am hoping that Chelsea loses to Villa in the FA cup (sorry Igebotz) so that Saka and Palmer can also play. But it's very difficult to figure out a plan for the long term, and my current plan only goes up to GW25.

GW22 winner is Smartvirus, this time it was a tie between him and Jayce but he clinched it on better overall ranking. It was a really close one.

Going triple Manchester city assets (KDB, Halaand and Alvarez) means having no Salah. Big call for me.

Not having Salah is no biggy in my opinion, he's supposedly picked up a minor injury from AFCON, and after such a shitty display at AFCON you don't expect him to be fully back to 100% in just a space days, It's certain he'd miss this game week, so there is still a lot of time to make other if either City assets isn't worth it.

I'll likely be leaving Salah on the waiver wire for now, at for two game weeks, possibly until after Liverpool's blank.

It doesn't necessarily have to be the case. You can basically downgrade the defense and GK to threadbare and do something like:

Saka - Palmer - Salah - Hee Chan - KDB

Haaland - Alvarez

Or if you bought Palmer early on when he was 4.9 like I did, you can even squeeze out some funds for Saka => Son.

But I can't do any of that right now because I blew my free hit, so now I need to micromanage for GW29 big blank.

update, and to compound my transfer woes:

DGW25 has been announced for Liverpool and Luton: https://x.com/officialfpl/status/1753722559944610053?s=46&t=k_FBGnsbG2P0PN0vqz37RA

I feel like Barcelona now. Sad

However, I stand by my opinion that the big calls were good. No foul on Gallagher for sure, no foul in the buildup for Bradley's goal. Don't recall what else you mentioned.

He intentionally skip the tackle on Nkunku by VD and the Dive by Jota for that PK. Says a lot.

I agree 100%  Grin - but still, you shouldn't be expecting much from such a disgraceful performance from your team. It's more about Chelsea's performance being a norm (as a matter of fact) and less about bad officiating.

We were the best team in the first leg so it's fair for to assume we were going to give a tough game but that's didn't happen. Lol.

I assume that giving a place to all of KDB-Haaland-Salah-Son-TAA names in the squad will be very difficult. I'm wondering how Salah will return from his injury as well. But while Liverpool are doing this good leaving Salah out doesn't make sense to me for now.

I have Toney instead of Watkins in my squad. I don't think of changing this for now.

Tough call to make. Have you confirmed your picks yet?

Nope, want to see who's returning home from AFCON/Asia Cup.
Also thinking about Nunez, he's finally playing well, but he's semi-injured.

Then I also have to decide whether to Wildcard or not - but no matter what happens, I'm keeping Alvarez (and KDB).

The unwavering commitment to defend our club is what defines us as fans. After the early, clear tackle on Gallagher in the box, we would have been ahead in the match if the officiating had been even remotely decent. That was the worst game I have seen us play this season, but we still managed to score a goal against your terrible defense. It could have been a different game, but thanks to the referees.

Yeah, not sure how City will line up. In their first game of the season (the one where KDB got injured) he started as no. 10 while KDB started in the middle.
I expect the same going forward - KDB paired with Rodri, Foden and Doku/Bernardo wide and Alvarez as a no. 10. He has been too good this season to be ignored.

Considering that KDB is back, I might even continue to go without Haaland. He is my single biggest mistake of the season - although KDB will feed him like a baby.

I'm not doing away with Alvarez yet. Maybe after GW25 before I might have a change of heart about him. Although I'm in a dilemma between the 3 City players to pick when the time comes because I'd like to get Ederson as well but I don't want to miss out on the attacking returns from their midfield and forwards.

I guess you also see 6 mins Youtube highlights just the same way Trofo did to come up with that.

I watched 95% of all the games Liverpool played in the last 20-25 years Grin
When referees make a mistake, I'll say it - I have no issues with winning lucky. I even like it sometimes, it makes the losing party lose their shit even more.

I'm sure if Alvarez were to be classified a midfield in the FPL not as many people would trying to be rid of him, but you can only have a maximum of 3 forwards, and Alvarez for crying out loud is the 2nd or 3rd highest point scoring FW in the FPL, but most people would like to have a possible trio of Toney, Watkins and Haaland, not a bad combo honestly because you can be almost certain to get some returns from at least one of them weekly.

Meanwhile in my opinion with Alvarez's form, I don't think Guardiola would just throwing him under the bus immediately as Alvarez have shown that he could play any upfront, on the flank and even behind the striker but that's where De Bruyne comes, It's really a complicated scenario, more so because you can only have a maximum of 3 Man City players.

------------------------------------

Not a bad week in general for me as I was able to score well above the every and except for my backline, every of my other outfield players yielded a positive return, If I can remain this slow but steady, then I'm sure the season just isn't over for me yet.

The English Refs and VAR are trying so hard to hand over the EPL trophy to LiVarpool to celebrate Klopp farewell. This was by far the worse officiating this season. It was so obvious they didn't try to hide it. Lol   Grin

All decisions were spot on. By the way, Chelsea is so horrible that 20 referees wouldn't help you.

Even though I'm a Liverpool fan, I didn't see anything wrong with the officiating yesterday. Chelsea was outright bad yesterday and not even a Chelsea ref would've helped your team yesterday. If Chelsea had done the work rather than play terribly and complain about officiating this season, maybe it'd be a different result.

IIRC, it's this same season that Liverpool got a goal cancelled against Tottenham as offside when it was in fact an on-side goal.

We'll meet again in the EFL cup final, Chelsea needs to improve imo, otherwise business as usual Wink

This Connor Bradley guy is also a gigachad for 4.0m.

He's going to the bench, and he's the luckiest guy ever as well. Whatever he puts in the box, someone converts.
3 assists from 0.5 xA and 2 clean sheets, replaced 2 min before the Chelsea goal.

I am happy to see him do well, but I don't rate him at all. Hopefully he gets 5 more assists like this and we sell him to some team doing scouting through statistic analysis.

Everybody doing well this round I guess. The real fun starts soon though - suddenly there are too many options to choose from and 75% of the teams near the top will wildcard in the next 2-3 GW's.

I'm sometimes having difficulties in understanding the game admins' moves. Alvarez scored 2 goals yesterday but after that his price went down. As long as he is healthy I think he will be in the starting eleven in the Brentford match on the 5th of February. I started to think about whether to continue with Trent Alexander-Arnold. I wonder whether he will manage to get the shirt from Bradley against Arsenal away.
It isn't about what player does. It is only about transfers in and out, seems like players are selling him for Haaland like I will do probably as well. Only problem they are doing it early, what if we get news Haaland felt his foot and will miss another month news? Not gonna happen probably but why risk it? Never gonna understand urge to do transfers early, if all waited for last day nobody would have a problems with price rises/falls.

Also want Toney so who knows what move I will end up doing.

So that means people take him out hence his price dropped? Could it be because Haaland has already played and with KDB back on the team as well, chances are higher that KDB and Haaland could be starting together?

Anyway, I changed my captain from Alvarez to KDB. I could have another 13 points from Alvarez if I didnt change it but extra 7 points from KDB will do for now but still it sucks when you thought you made a good decision but in the end it wasnt

@igebotz, our resident Chelsea expert, what's the deal with colwill injury?

Ignored the football hest last night like it never happened. Well, typical LiVarpool fan.

Well, Colwill has began his rehabilitation program and should be available next game, he should be available and starting ahead of Badiashile against Wolves.

Got 4 different goal scorers and none had the captain band on. Lol.

On the other hand all 5 of my defenders had returns last week and this week all 5 of them together got me 3 points. Still the same players and no reason to sell.

It is nuts, because that was exactly the same situation I had with my defenders too.

I'm thinking Haaland and Walker definitely start next GW though, so when today's games end, then will be the best time to buy him before his price (stupidly) goes up to 14.1 because of the dark arts that is the price change algorithm intricacies. Already I'm a bit annoyed that he's 14.0 right now

I feel so undone by my choice of captain this week, I had three Man City players Foden, Alvarez, and De Bruyne, but I couldn't make the right captaincy choice and went for KDB, my hunch was on Alvarez this whole time, but I felt he could be the scapegoat for Haaland apparent return and get a smaller playing time even though I was sure he'd start
This week was a perfect example why FPL should always be looked at from few weeks perspective and not single games. Saka, Watkins and Alvarez all blanked in the past and everyone started talking how they should be sold and then they all delivered this GW.

Decisions might get back to being a tough one, so many players are getting back Maddison already is, and in a couple of game weeks we'll be getting player on international duty, One of the biggest problem would involve solving which midfield combinations to use.
