As I thought that Manchester City would win by a much bigger difference I transferred Alvarez and made him the captain. Even though the score wasn't like I expected I can say that I'm a little relieved by Alvarez's scoring a goal. The players who keep Palmer in their squad this week have caught a really big advantage.

Why doesn't Watkins take the pens for villa? Sad
HOLD DAT!!!!!Hahah fuck Watkins he's on everyone's team and beside Douglas Luiz is the first choice PK taker for Aston villa, this is not his first this season.  Cheesy

Eh, kept Ake on bench and he goes and gets 6 points heh. On the plus side my new boy D Luiz scored a late winner to get some good points on the table for me, even if I did have Ollie on me team already (but indeed, as Hhampuz asks, why?).

6 players left to play, I'm feeling good here.

Douglas Luiz late goal is blessing in disguise at last and Ghehi 5 points Auto sub for Badiashile at the back. I'm eating good finally.

Take Chelsea out of your mouth  Grin

Because Watkins misses his pens half the time, you literally do not want him to take pens for this reason because you will actually lose points from that. Whereas Douglas Luiz has a near perfect conversion rate.

I have the perfect team, but I am unable to manage these players.

That sounds suspiciously like Chelsea's mantra...

Haaland is ruled out until January 13th according to the FPL site injury status, it's going to be very interesting to see how people will select their captain without Haaland, Salah, Son, even the currently red hot Kudus and Chelsea's Jackson too are going to be on the leave for international duties.

These are times that will really differentiate between good FPL managers from the nothing but just trend-bandwagons.

I just got rid of Haaland and got Alvarez in, as for the captain I put it in Alvarez this week. Probably gonna shift around Alvarez or Son depending on how it goes but probably Solanke might be my option as well. Aside from striker, I personally think that putting the captain band on goalkeeper might be a decent idea as well provided that the goalkeeper could keep a clean sheet then that would be around 6-8 points so double from that would be pretty decent if there isnt anyone good enough to put that captain band on

I am very glad I captured Palmer's monster haul, and there's a haul in progress for my captain Watkins too. I almost gave the armband to Alvarez but I thought he would have some bad luck against Sheffield United after he had just returned last gameweek.

At any rate, I still need some more GAs from my team in order to clear the 20-point gap you Solanke owners created in GW18. Still haven't recovered from it, it seems.

Another captaincy wromg decision from me, and it will destroy my rank. I have Parmer, Salah, Watkins, Alvarez, and Nkunku, and I fuckingly gave Nkunku the hand band in an attempt to play a dangerous mind game, and it backfired, the school teacher Poch decided to be stupid and left him on the bench, he's fully recovered, and I don't understand why he's being managed like some academy kids.

And if that wasn't enough, Badiashile was benched after playing 90 mins against Crystal Palace. Poch, you're so funny.

I left Hae chan on the bench after he took a knock in the last match, not knowing he was going to start.

I have the perfect team, but I am unable to manage these players.

not sure what I would do, so it could be a good thing after all, since Haaland doesn't play from start and wouldn't onboard others from City, will be interesting, and 2 transfers next week

Not really, there isn't a single manager out there that can predict things perfectly for one GW. Really good managers make good decisions whole season and towards the end it tells, since majority of their decisions work out ok. FPL is just a game of numbers and it all sort of comes back to the mean sooner or later.

In any single GW variance is just too high and nobody can predict that other then bet on easier fixtures and top players.

Yeah, I understand and the point trying make is that those fews that these top players with be out for will determine quite a number of things, just take look at how yourself and Morvillz7z manage your teams, you know that either of you might not win a single game round as the top point scorer, but you'll fancy you chances over a 38 games period for no other reason than the fact the logic will eventually pay off in a long term approach over just luck, no illogical manager will be lucky for 38 games, while no logical manager will be unlucky for 38 games as well, so If we put the former and latter manager together, in my opinion the logical manager will always have the edge in a very good ratio, compared to the other.

Maybe it's time for Watkins to bring on the big guns and deliver whilst star players go on international duties. Watkins is now the best forward in terms of returns in the FPL this season. I know this is due to Haaland's injury but Watkins has something. Who is going to miss Jackson?  I know he got an assist today but his returns are considerably low compared to the number of chances and services and do receive.

What a "Cole"!!! from Palmer, that's some beautiful style of football from Chelsea, I've always said, give Palmer an open space or free role and he'd work some magic!, I hope Poch is seing why clogging the midfield with Enzo, Caceido and Gallagher is not going to bring out the best from his attacking play makers, all he needs is just two of the three, but regardless the selection Caceido should sure be in the mix, and Enzo is nothing too expensive to have on of start from the bench, if its for the greater purpose of the team.

That Palmer's second half was lit. I thought he'd miss it after that defender tracked him back but he was "cole" and calm till the finishing. But Chelsea was lucky to get out with a win today.

I'm happy for rising to the 2nd position. However like you said as well I have to change so many players in my team because of AFCON and AFC Asian Cup. I assume that I can use my 2nd wildcard right away after it comes. Just because for not using my wildcard I don't want to make 3-4 additional transfers.
Of course you can use your wildcard as soon as you get it but that means no more wildcard this season. Son and Salah will also come back from those tournaments at the same time Newcastle will embark on nice set of fixtures. This is really though period to navigate and I am quite pissed at myself for spending one transfer to remove Tsimikas. I should have just left him on the bench till wildcard.

Yeah you managed to get too close to comfort to my top position. Thankfully AFCON and the other one start soon so I am expecting some problems for your team. Not enough transfers to get rid of Salah, Son, Hee Chan, Lamptey and Lascelles. Last minute penalty save for Raya helped as well.

You bought Trippier now? I have him in my team for most of the season and next 3 games are absolutely the worst possible 3 for Newcastle. They are playing against some of the best attacks in the league in Liverpool, City and Villa at the time where they are totally out of form. To make it worse only City is at home.

Yes, I did.

I had two transfers and one was going to waste either way so I brought him for a potential in the game since I have Duvbraka already, I hoped to maximise the probable returns, I didn't have payers I wanted for a long term basis at that point, so it was an easy Trippier in, Trippier out back to back gw, with transfers that were likley going to waste anyways. It just didn't turnout how I anticipated.

Man, did you overdo it on the alcohol? Your posts are still in the thread; what are you looking for in your draft?

Apparently, I was actually having nerve infection, literally hallucinating earlier this week. Funny, I didn't really feel that ill, but brain was definitely very funky.

This GW winner is probably . Still some bonus points to be calculated but I believe it should be yours. See man your casual free hit at least netted you 1 mBTC free bet, well played  Grin Captain on Darwin also required some real courage.

Congratulations @buwaytress — obviously not an easy feat at a time where most teams got very low returns. The average was around 20 points IIRC.

Average is 38 according to my screen so I didn't do THAT well. I honestly meant to play Wild Card but I've been having a brain fog this whole week turns out I was actually sick heh. At least I used the card well and recouped a bit.

Now back to my old team, have to put out the final 2 injured players, swapping Hwang and Luis Diaz in.

I've seen stranger things happen this GW

Salah and Watkins blanking

Darwin and Alvarez scoring

Arsenal being toothless and giving Areola 10 points

Our old pal Joao Pedro getting 16 points after dumping Spurs

Maybe for the Liverpool game at least they might turn around, because they have a full week of rest before they play. Nobody was expecting any of the above to happen either.

Arsenal assets underperforming right now. What are your plans for this lots?  I watched the game today and Martineli is looking like a shadow of his former self. He used to be more deadly that this; Saka too but I don't know why.

Tottenham and Arsenal assets were supposed to give me some good points today and they defaulted.

I left my best asset on the bench, Areola but who would have willingly put Duvbraka on the bench and Areola to start with for a game week like this ? I even brought in Trippier for their damn fixture.

I have Trippier and Gordon in my squad and if I did not need transfers to handle Salah and Son I would kick them out this week without second thought. As it is I will probably keep one or both on the bench for time after those 3 GW. That is the time Newcastle gets good fixtures and I expect them to be back to the old form by then.
