Oh great to know that KDB is already recovered but his price is still over 10. I thought his price would be lowered because he is out for like half of the season.
Price is influenced just by transfers in or transfers out. KDB price was never going down a lot since he was never really popular this season. If he was 70% owned before the injury we would have seen a lot of price drops.

KDB should have the no brainer replacement for Sallah straightaway but biggest concern is Guardiola, how well he would use KDB consistently after such a long layoff, we know how much of a roulette player Guardiola, I don't mind missing out one week haul of KDB to be sure that Guardiola wouldn't be having off and on, so I'll stick to keeping Foden + Alvarez as my City duo for now.

Hey guys, what are your plans for the double game week on GW25? The second double game week of the season  has just been announced and Man city will play out their outstanding match with Brentford.

Personally, I'm thinking of bringing in City + Brentford players into my team prior to that game week. If I'm unable to garner enough free transfers to bring in those players, I'll just make use of my free hit. It seem like the perfect opportunity.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts  Smiley

Toney + Haaland + Foden + KDB I guess?

Now a whole lot of brentford attacking options to choose from.

Ivan Toney surely is a player to consider, I would have made a room for him on team, If hadn't hop on the Jarred Bowen bandwagon, Brentford have a tough series of fixtures going forward but Toney remains their biggest goal threat, especially with both Mbeumo and Wissa out, there is literally no one else to lookout for in the Brentford team, the only reason for concern could be his price at 7.9m

I have both KDB ( in for Bowen -4) and Alvarez

I'm going to captain Alvarez as Pep may likely throw KBD in for some few minutes.

Oh great to know that KDB is already recovered but his price is still over 10. I thought his price would be lowered because he is out for like half of the season. Time to put him back I guess with Salah out of the equation. I got Alvarez captained as well, not really the best choice considering that they are playing against Newcastle but if he can score atleast 1 goal than that would be enough for decent double points

There is no better choice at the moment- Son and Salah are unavailable, Bowen is injured, all of Manchester United's midfielders are garbage, Arsenal's midfielders are underperforming, and Liverpool's midfield is a collection of mids. KDB at £10m is still a steal in my opinion. He'll be up and running in no time.

Price is influenced just by transfers in or transfers out. KDB price was never going down a lot since he was never really popular this season. If he was 70% owned before the injury we would have seen a lot of price drops.

At 9.8% ownership at the moment, pretty low.

Just check Brentford's fixtures. If it's only for 1 game - maybe makes sense. But after that they have Spurs, City, Liverpool, Wolves, WH, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Toney is an option for me only for the period from GW33-GW37 - where I'll almost certainly take him, especially if Brentford will be fighting for survival.
I said only on wildcard not for transfer. Would take him and leave money to change him to Haaland as soon as he is available. Quite probably, just for this week. If Haaland isn't back soon I wouldn't have problem to wait and let him play few more games.

Same as I am doing with Alvarez now.

Who else are you going to captain? There is actually nobody I trust this week unless we get some new Haaland/Bowen info.

Both Halaand and Bowen are out of the GW; Halaand is still doing light gym and hasn't trained with the team yet while Bowen is out completely.

You can't wait that long. Solanke has a very good run of fixtures then and by that time, Haaland should also be back - there will be no room in your squad for Toney then if you play a 3-5-2 and also want to have Salah/Son/Saka/Trent etc.

I decided to use wildcard finally after Alexander Arnold also got injured. If I make 4 transfers together with my 2 free transfer rights after AFCON I think that I can get away with -8 points. The African cup ruined my order which was going on nicely this season. After Palmer and Saka's bad performances in the last match I'm thinking of adding Toney to my squad and making him the captain. However this would be a very risky move.

Also, Ivan Toney isn't allowed to play until GW 21 against Nottingham Forest.

You know we are now in GW21 and they are playing against NFO?

Toney is interesting one, I would be tempted on WC but definitely not as regular transfer. It is not like he has been injured, he had a big holiday and trained during that time. With Mbuemo injured I am thinking he is playing 90 min from get go. Also has penalties.

He already played a game for reserve squad and scored 3 goals so it seems he should be in ok form.

Are you aware that this would be your last Wild card for this season? Majority of managers are of the opinion that you should only use your wild card unless you're absolutely sure you've no other choices. In the first half of the season, I used my wild card unnecessarily and when the time came to really use it (half of team with either injuries and suspended) so it costs me points for that week.

Also, Ivan Toney isn't allowed to play until GW 21 against Nottingham Forest.

I'm gonna captain Saka as well. Palmer looks like a decent option too, but I wached Chelsea in the EPL Cup semi and it made me wanna sell all Chelsea players - so I won't pick him.
My only other options are Watkins and Sterling - so Saka seems like the best choice.

Haaland will be my first captain of course - he might still make it.

Question - what happens if for some reason Saka does not play too and both of my captains are out? I mean, I guess I play without a captain - but doesn't hurt to ask.

I agree that Palmer was awful in their FA cup clash against Middlesbrough but did you watch Saka against Liverpool in the FA cup? His performance was more or less like Palmer — although I'd agree than Palmer's misses were disappointing and cost his team that loss. Saka and Arsenal aren't at their best now so you should keep that in mind.

About your question about captaincy, here's an excerpt from FPL rules:

Quote
If both captain and vice-captain play 0 minutes in a Gameweek, then no player's score will be doubled.

Does that still apply even after confirming or authenticating your negative point transfer in a first instance before going for a second instance where you then apply the WC.
Any game week that you make use your WC, any and all transfers made prior and after will cover any hits. The week that I decided to use my wildcard, I had like 3 negative transfer hits which prompted me to use it and it cleared all incurred negative points for exceeding free transfer
Per game week huh! I guess that clears things as I had prior ideas on the WC usage.

I had captain on Bowen but he is probably out. Haaland still not back, not trusting other City assets against Newcastle away.
Haaland still out, that’s an information I needed but, with the probability factor still there, can’t say more although, it’s truly a tricky captaincy GW.
J. Bowen injury isn’t perceived to be as serious as feared and with them playing against a team like Sheffield United from a home side, you could always expect him to score but, his playing time could be in doubt as Moyes would want to play safe.
Other options might just be Foden for Manchester City or Douglas Luiz. I mean, Everton haven’t been bad but, they’ve got to conceive still.

I'm hardly containing myself not to use my wildcard now. Even though I made transfer in return for -8 points I still have many number of transfers to make for my team. I transferred Bowen but his injury news ruined me completely. Later on I got the news that TAA who has been in my squad for a long time was going to miss at least 2 matches.

Maybe it could be much more sensible to make transfer in return for points after the return from AFCON.

I had captain on Bowen but he is probably out. Haaland still not back, not trusting other City assets against Newcastle away. Everton is solid at home so no Villa players. Liverpool without Salah and TAA have no idea where I would go or even if they will do good against in form Bournemouth. Spurs-United is though one to call.

Arsenal against Palace is best fixture and Saka is still the one I trust the most in Arsenal squad. If not him then maybe Palmer against Fulham or Estupinan/Gross against Wolves. We are scraping the barrel this GW.

I don't think it is time for wildcard yet unless you are hit with plethora of injuries. This whole month we have 2 game weeks. Bowen out for three weeks would mean he actually missed one game.

I will probably just bench him and hope he gets back soon. That is why early transfers are bad. Loads of players brought Bowen and TAA this week and now they are out.

I got him as well; I had no idea we'd have a double cup week because I've never made a transfer two weeks before a game week before. I have no idea what to do with him, and with Nkunku out critically ill the only miracle I need now is for Nkunku to recover before the GW. If this happens, I can easily bench Bowen and switch to a 4-4-3 formation.

Salah is still on the bench, which is an easy fix for KBD or money to swiftly get Halaand.

@NotATether is a terrible captain idea.
