5) As we have stated, we have been developing the ASICs in house for the past year. Our 20nm microprocessors are built here in the UK. We do not use an external foundry. We have been building microprocessors for over 25 years and have worked in numerous industries supplying products and chips. They are near on finished and the reason why we have decided to take pre-orders is simply to gauge interest. We do not want to commit to producing thousands of units if we will struggle to sell them. We were confident people would take to our products and this response has been hard to take.

I hope this helps clarify some peoples responses to my announcement.

Wait... So you guys have a 20nm foundry hidden somewhere in the UK?  Where is this foundry?  What do you guys produce when you are not producing ASICs?  If you do not produce other products,  how do you guys make ends meet?

Can you link to linked in accounts of some of your principles?  They don't appear to exist/have findable work histories,  for people with such experience.

This is not the response we wanted to receive as you can imagine from the community!

I want to clarify some peoples comments which claim we are a scam company which are ridiculous.
Hey Rebecca,

This is a pretty typical response from this community, even with the most successful products.  Congrats on your Press Release?  It certainly got peoples attention.  I don't know PR, so this is probably common sense to you, but I'll put it out there anyway.

At this point, the best you can do is head off the more wild speculations, post regular updates, and not feed the trolls.  Once you can provide some images of the miner or the facility, even in prototype or assembly stages, I urge you to post them here.  It'll redirect the negativity away from scam accusations; instead they'll start questioning your specification and dissecting the photos, which is actually an improvement.

As for gauging interest...  if your product performs as expected, you'll have the most powerful, most cost effective miners on the market.  I don't think you'll have any trouble selling unreasonable volumes once you allay these scam fears and have product on hand.

Why do you think it ridiculous that people would think this.

No one has yet produced a 20nm Asic.

A company no one has heard of, with a team that have no internet presence appear out of the blue and say they are building them and have prototype.

You don't reveal your actual company name, you don't say who is actual manufacturing the chip and you provide no hard evidence of your ability to produce.

Why would anyone think otherwise?

If you are legit, provide the proof and evidence that you are legit. You are asking people to lay down thousands on fairy dust at present.

Jeee, why is everybody so anxious to kick woman's butt because they are frustrated with their previous orders?

Just take it with a grain of salt and give it some time. We are gonna see onsite pictures and vids soon enough.

So Becca, how about that vid of the test machine along with cgminer stats? That would sure help.

Obviously one engineer is not enough experience to design a 5TH/s device.

One person could do it, with enough experience under their belt. The KNC chip had 2, with one as the lead, iirc.

KNC had 2-3 person working on the hardware and at least one is a ASIC design specialist, educated at a recognized univercity.
I agree, only having one electronic engineer to bleeding edge technology do not alone do not qualify alone to raise the SCAM ALERT flag, he could be extremely good, on the other side 13 years is not that much experience in this business. But there are just too many things that do not add up.

The lead designer at Cointerra only had a few years experience. I say let's see how this pans out. There are folks willing to go visit the place in person, so let's wait for that.

If Rebecca needs a US citizenship, let me know Grin

The first poster after the "press release" is part of the scam too, I'm guessing.

He's a noob who just HAPPENS to live right down the street from the supposed fab facility.

We can look forward to his next post, when he'll report that he visited their super secret factory and saw all the chip geniuses building prototypes or something.

These guys thought they were going to make like $5 million on this scam.  Let's see if we can keep that close to zero.

Who you calling a noob you 4 post having idiot.

Learn your place before you start accusing people of sh!t. I have been a member of this forum for almost a year. Just by coincidence I do happen to live just down the road from their "facility" and yes I was the first to reply. Wow.

Sometimes I wonder why I even visit these forums its like visiting the land of the trolls.

Rebecca, don't worry you are not the first definitely not the last company to come under the rigorous scrutiny of this great forum. Don't take it personally, as you are probably aware there have been MANY scams run through these forums, which has got a lot of peoples backs up. As you have read some aspects of your business have thrown up some red flags but hopefully, if you are who you say you are we can get these all ironed out.  I am really hoping you guys are legit as I am eager to do business  Wink

here is why you were called a newb:

The forums says you are.

Oh well done genius. Thanks for pointing that out. Wasn't aware that I'd even asked WHY he called me a noob  Roll Eyes

Hi - We plan to visit soon Rebecca. One of our writers will be in touch.

No offence intended here yet.   I don't think the forum members would care much if a new member did a visit and write up on a new company.

Please send me any questions you want asked, pictures you want taken.

... I don't bash women, I love women, as long as they know their place.

Please ask about her internal foundry, and if you can take some pictures...

SCAM ALERT

The team consist of 4 persons, where two persons is involved in the RnD.
Project manager + microchip engineer.

Obviously one engineer is not enough experience to design a 5TH/s device.

http://www.ctsminer.com/about-us/

Press release states:
"CTS are an elite group formed internally from a world-class microprocessor engineering company at the forefront of Embedded controller design and manufacture"

Which is hardly the competences needed for chip design.

None of the staff appears on linkedin or any other relevant  places on the internet.

Concept drawings are not convincing, even though heat pipes are present at the CAD drawings, they go to "some kind" of central processor while the actual ASIC grid not cooled with heat sinks. The spec say 900-1100W, for that power some cooling must be expected.

Your post has caused quite a stir.

If you are a genuine UK company then you will know about the EU Distance Selling Regulations that force both refunds and a cooling off period. You need to change you T&C's to meet the laws of the UK.

Companies House has no record of your company and your web site shows you are not a limited, is this correct?

Your company expects to sell more than the VAT threshold equivalent in the next three months but your prices do not display if VAT has been paid, are you registered for VAT, if so what is your VAT number, if not can you please explain why not?

Your address is the same as one of CMS Ltd addresses, is CMS your parent company, or is your company an offshoot built by staff from them?
