I have been watching this market for a long time.

It seems that in the early part of a bull market, Bitcoin goes up faster than altcoins (ie Bitcoin dominance goes up.)  In the late part of a bull market, Bitcoin still goes up but altcoins go up even better (ie Bitcoin dominance goes down.)

In a bear market, altcoins fall faster than Bitcoin (ie Bitcoin dominance recovers somewhat but has to wait for the next bull market to go really high.)

So, it would seem the correct play is to buy altcoins at this point, and then convert them into Bitcoin (or sell) when you see the bull market ending?

Any thoughts?

[I used to post as BobK71, and am using a new account after some logistical mixup.]
If Bitcoin is start to become stable or rise from the dip, you will see a large number of altcoins will also rise up high and there is a big opportunity if you will buy altcoin when btc is on dip, because normally if Bitcoin price fall you will get a low price altcoins in the market and we can called it as an opportunity for you to earn when bull run begin.

Bitcoin moves faster during the first bull run mostly because  of a major correction move and decline slower than altcoin because it's major support zone gets retested first before the market decides which other direction to follow and in the second run altcoin moves faster in the bull run because Bitcoin needs to recover from the previous dips. While altcoin soar higher recovering faster. Same applies in the dip

For investment it would be wiser to invest in bitcoin because it is more stable and the increase can be very high. Reputable altcoins are also good for investment but are more efficient when used for trading than investing in altcoins.
Reputable altcoins are also goers wherever bitcoin is.

It's wise to invest bitcoin as the usual and have it for a long term hold. To prove that it has always been the best choice, you hold it effortlessly. There might be some altcoins that can grow more than bitcoin.

But it's going to be a hard deal for you to find it out. Especially right now when everything is going down.

It depends on how you want to invest. You need to plan and decide properly before you go for such an investments.Having some money in bitcoin is a good idea, but investing in altcoin is also a good way to make money. However, altcoin can give you a negative returns and is more riskier than bitcoin.Choosing the wrong altcoin might have ending up losses and no one wants that.So invest carefully..
No one wants to lose but I think losses are inevitable and can happen too in btc investments. The risk can also depend on the situation because like what the OP have differentiated, there are times where btc performs good and then there is also times that btc performance starting to degrade and then the altcoin takes place. We need to use that scenario to know if what times btc and altcoins are great to invest. Unlike to btc that is only one, altcoins have a different specie or kinds.

This makes them even more riskier. I think there is no bull run yet that happen but we might be in the recovery phase now or it can be considered as early bull run as coins now are showing a positive signs. This should be the moment for btc.

Base your investment on your knowledge, it's safer than trying things that you don't understand.

Both Bitcoin and ALt coin have that same chances to bring decent profits, but like what you just mentioned, risk in alt coins
is far higher than Bitcoin.

In the long ride, Bitcoin is what most traders are holding, the support still strong for this asset. It's all depend from how you foreseen.
the market and how willing you are to take the risk.
Trying to focus out on how we do all sorts of things trying out to accumulate bitcoin on our portfolio even though we do deal up with altcoins but still we do target out on accumulating or converting
out to bitcoin as long we do make out profits whether on stable coin or other altcoin pairs but most of us will really be looking after on making our bitcoin balance big which it is something that really
very common motive or plans we do have in mind.So its up to someone whether which one you would choose but its common sense on which one is worth.

Yeah.

Can't ignore that for Doge holders.

Only those that have sold at profit because there are also holders of Doge that have been caught late by the hype. They've bought at the top and thought that they'll still be making a fortune.

Until the dump came.

Well, you are right, some have been caught in the trap, the ones who bought during a hype! But here I am talking about people who are holding it for +5 years! Even now they are in crazy big profit if they missed the perfect moment when Doge was at $0.7 in May last year!

By the way, while BTC and ETH are down by 2% in the last 24h Doge is up 17%! That speaks for itself, the crypto market is never all red, there are always some exceptions!
I'm terribly worried. reading this! Truth. I had 10 million dogecoins in 2015. No one took it seriously then. A convenient coin for transferring funds. No more. Naturally. I don't have it today. Today is a similar situation. No one knows what will happen next. It is possible that bitcoin will fall a thousand times and everyone will laugh.
At the same time, today scammers have created dozens of coins with similar dog names. Some morons buy them. All this will cost zero!
The main moron is Vitalik Buterin. He's already been dealt. Poor sick boy. He is sitting at his dacha in Canada. And they make him write posts..
Before it's too late...
Millions of people around the world today believe that they are very rich. Believe me. all of them will soon be beggars in a garbage dump.
Many are sitting up to their ears in bank loans.

When it comes to investment, I do believe that bitcoin is still the best among all those cryptocurrencies out there. It is more profitable..Bitcoin is much safer option to invest  because it has stable growth and drop compared to altcoins.

We all know that when bitcoin goes up,altcoin also tend to go up, and when bitcoin drops, altcoin drop as well. But altcoins are extremely volatile than bitcoin and is riskier to invest.

Bitcoin will fall by 2 times and will stand still as a new global asset. It will never grow a thousand times. It was recently compared to gold. ..There's not much gold either. And it is also not infinite.
The last gram of gold mined on this planet will not be worth trillions of dollars. ... Values will change.
I read above and I'm freaking out.. What naive children you are!
At the same time, I personally thought about it.. What will Bitcoin grow in? Dollar bills will soon be of no use to anyone.
until 1971, the US dollar was actually backed by gold. Today, he provides himself only with war in different spaces of the world. And the seal of empty pieces of paper.
It looks like all this is coming to an end soon!

It all depends on the users self interest and the experience investing on cryptocurrencies. For users who have profited investing on altcoins will never look for bitcoin investment, because the profit out of altcoins is very big against the profit from bitcoin. This won't happen with every altcoins, and users needs to be lucky enough to enjoy such profits. For early investors bitcoin will be the choice and for now it is altcoins in my view.

The funny thing is that people who have forgotten about their assets for a long time become millionaires in dollars. Then. accidentally remembered and freaked out .... Everyone who watches their money every day is doomed to mistakes and poverty. Many assets die for a long time, and then come out. Only, customers have already died or thrown themselves out of the window because of debts.
At the same time, they forgot to explain the meaning of the blockchain to their relatives and give them private keys...

Most altcoins are currently experiencing a decline as is the case with bitcoin prices in the market, even some trusted altcoins such as bnb, eth, ltc are also experiencing price corrections and this is a good opportunity for us to buy them and at least save until the altcoin season returns.
Make the most of the opportunity to buy some potential coins,
making a profit we can get it from anywhere, the most important thing is that we have to be really maximal in seeing the opportunities that exist
the problem is that it is difficult to predict which assets will be bullish, it takes a lot of luck...

I prefer to only focus on a few potential assets such as bitcoin, ethereum, binance, matic, and solana because not all assets can provide large profits and also have great potential for 5x or 10x.
This is a secure form of investment, because unlike any market move there is assurance of growth. If one has got the patience, then for sure it is possible to book profit. The same isn't possible with every altcoins. As of now if you have the trading skill then it is good to spend/invest on unpopular altcoins. Some are very lucky to have life changing experience out of the altcoins investment.

Bitcoin is king coin other word we can say mother coin and alter coin is supporting coin so obiasly we can say bitcoin is best but for trade and short term profit alter coin is suitable.
Yes, I agree with your statement, it can be said that bitcoin is the mother of all cryptos that exist today, thanks to bitcoin, other coins appear and are traded, maybe in the short term bitcoin will not feel an increase unless he has large capital, for beginners and traders retail is better to buy coins that are still cheap.

Currently Bitcoin and Altcoin are same as price little dip.We should buy both valuable and Favourite  coin and hold long time.I hope these coin price will be rise in future. For me,I'm suggested, You can buy now BTC,ETH,BNB and hold long time,i hope you will get more benefit from it. Short term holding for Altcoin. Small investor good for short term investment.

and yes, a decline like this is very reasonable because indeed they are indirectly following the market movement higher and in this case bitcoin.
on the other hand I agree with what you said because this is a very good opportunity and don't think too much about selling because this is the right time to buy and hold more alt there.
on the other hand also note that there are indeed some decent enough alts and don't focus too much on the hype

Bitcoin will always be on top of other altcoins and as for me, no altcoins could achieve the same achievements that it has reached. When it comes to long-term hold, I would still personally prefer Bitcoin sine it has shown great potential through the years compared to newly existing altcoins. Bitcoin is profitable especially when being held in the long term run because it continuously develops each year.

Still need a lot of patience after grabbing the opportunity to buy some coins with potential. If you don't have altcoins bitcoin is also profitable just as some altcoins do though some are not for long term compared to bitcoin. Judging base solely on making huge profit is not a good example and we should not think like that as that will result in loss of profit instead of gaining profits. We can't blame others for beint late when there's a hype going on like dogecoin for example.
