Back to what you want to achive in this crypto world. Let me give you some parable, if you want to make money shortly as a trader, maybe altcoin is the best choice, because the price is not too expensive like bitcoin, and manycoin you can collect as a trader.
If you are an investor, maybe bitcoin better than altcoin for a long time, because most of the price of altcoin, determined by bitcoin price.

In this world many people make large money when cryptocurrency first comes and everything go 1000x but now it is not possible because there are many thousand cryptocurrency in running. Bitcoin is also a coin like altocoins. It will be difficult to choose between BTC and altocoins nobody knows what is coming up next. We should understand the project and then invest. Thank you

I have been watching this market for a long time.

It seems that in the early part of a bull market, Bitcoin goes up faster than altcoins (ie Bitcoin dominance goes up.)  In the late part of a bull market, Bitcoin still goes up but altcoins go up even better (ie Bitcoin dominance goes down.)

In a bear market, altcoins fall faster than Bitcoin (ie Bitcoin dominance recovers somewhat but has to wait for the next bull market to go really high.)

So, it would seem the correct play is to buy altcoins at this point, and then convert them into Bitcoin (or sell) when you see the bull market ending?

Any thoughts?

[I used to post as BobK71, and am using a new account after some logistical mixup.]
I am not an expert in trading and also in marketing analysis, but I think bitcoin have the control of almost all the altcoin price in cryptocurrency market, even during the bull market, the rate at which altcoin price dump is very higher than that of bitcoin, and once bitcoin price to trying to recover some Altcoins will also recover but not as fast as bitcoin price.

Indeed, when the price of Bitcoin goes up, some altcoins also go up and vice versa.
but of course not all altcoins follow Bitcoin so I don't think it can be a benchmark,
we have to analyze every coin to know its movement

If your goal is to increase your BTC holding them you can buy some altcoin and wait for them to raise up in BTC pair. When the BTC market rallies up it is wise to hold BTC because alt will bleed that time. When BTC dominance goes down convert your BTC into alt and wait for the next alt to rally up. Though holding altcoin is always risky if you are a short-term trader.
I feel that things like this will not go well, because most of the existing alt pairs will follow the movement of btc and when btc goes down they will automatically decline, even tend to be more.
but maybe for my own alternative to use stablecoins for this so that their correction is not too severe and wait until everything subsides then I convert it again to bitcoin
Yes maybe that's a good idea but again it depends on each individual's decision because they must have their own way,
Stable coins have always been an option to secure what we have earned and that's nothing new
Talking about strategy, of course everything has differences and my strategy is like that, maybe some people are in line with what I do and maybe not because as you say everything can be done and everyone has their own thoughts.
On the other hand, this actually creates more options because the more we discuss, the more knowledge will increase and at least whether it's an ordinary altcoin and has less volatility than bitcoin and stable coins all have their own advantages and this option is very good to be used as a reference

If you ask which one do you prefer, bitcoin or altcoin? I can't seem to make a choice. Why? Because they both have their own advantages. As with altcoins, I can choose from several options, such as NFT and others. Indeed, bitcoin's long-term profit is more promising. But if we want to get quick results, altcoins should not be taken lightly.

If you are new to crypto and scare of the market, just buy bitcoin and ethereum and never chase new projects as you will lose your money. However, once you are stable in the market and understand the dynamics, you will understand that some projects are even a must buy for the future due to the technological solution they offer.

There's still the misconception of some people about stable coins. They think that it's a good investment but it's not really an investment that they should look at.
The use of it is to secure their profits and if they want to get into the market, they can use it so they have control of their buy during the dips and secure profits during the ups.

Investing in bitcoin is one of the best financial advice you will get, despite its proven record of profitability, it is the most popular crypto and has a huge influence on altcoins.
While not all altcoins can be fully affected by bitcoin movements, bitcoin is the best choice for the long term and can provide good and satisfactory returns and dominate the market that altcoins cannot beat because of their trustworthiness.
In addition, why bitcoin is the best is because it does not die off like other coins like altcoins and it has inflation that any other coins, and i choosed bitcoin as the most  preferable and trustworthy coin because is the first and father of cryptocurrencies, investing in bitcoin their is hope that profit will come no matter the time you invest it, if you purchase bitcoin when the price is low or high and invested for long time with panic to sell and make profit at the time is going low, after some time you will recover it back

As a matter of fact bitcoin governs all the coins.
Their prices increase or decrease with the fluctuations in the price of bitcoin.
Investment must be in both but in the early bullish market bitcoin faces more pump than the altcoin that face a pump after the price of bitcoin becomes stable.
While in early bearish market altcoin falls first and after that bitcoin undergoes a dump.
Yes, Bitcoin governs all altcoin but there price does not always increase or decrease through the fluctuations in the price of Bitcoin market because there season called altcoin season through this time altcoin market momentum act independently. Besides, the Bitcoin market will be left out of the bullish state.

I think bullrun is moving towards the end and in the last part of bullrun both bitcoin and altcoin are moving almost equally.  In other words, when the market is going up, the price of all coins is going up and when it is going down, the price of all coins is going down. So your strategy will not be very useful now.

I have been asking myself this question for days, and I have come to the conclusion that now it is best to have both, because on the one hand BTC is growing in price and altcoins are capitalizing a lot on the side of NFT games, which there are incredible opportunities but with high risks, but apparently people are putting aside traditional trading to do this type of trading, which is very fashionable, and this without counting all the number of people who are entering NFT games to capitalize much more and playing. Those who are buying currencies such as Solana, DOT, UNI, are enjoying good profits, in fact ETH itself is generating good profit for its investors and this means that the best investment is the one that many have made since BTC had been pro the $ 28k to $ 30k levels.

the property is very good but not everyone can profit from the property business, many also lose because of their lack of experience and knowledge of the property business

the best thing is to do business on what you understand, if you only understand bitcoin then focus and develop your skills, as well as if you only understand stock or property
on the other hand the business in property investment also takes a long time and must be patient with it.
because selling something like this requires expertise and a match between the seller and the buyer.
different from here, even though for time there are futures as well, but here we can freely sell and buy at any time with chart records and the TA being researched supports it.
indeed here also takes time for this and also needs skills but it will be different when you are in this path and the property sales route
Patience and experience is very important for all businesses and trading fields because without these two things you never know what will happen to you. Same rule apply in this bitcoin and altcoins because if you have no knowledge of crypto then surely you are going to lose your funds better keep with only bitcoin but if you want to jump into this as well as first have your all basic requirements then you can invest or trade because it's very important. Mostly peoples start in crypto with some research and TA analysis because it's very risky and need some serious intention before you jump into this field. Now on few exchanges we have demo accounts as well for better training of newbies before starting you can check this as well.
actually what you're saying is almost exactly what my thread you quoted, you just added a few extra words there Smiley but that's okay I understand and I know what you mean.
and actually I think everyone already knows about it and when talking about experience it is quite good but actually patience is the most important thing, it can even be said to be the main key.
when talking about experience I think it is important but when we only focus on it then no one will want to try because the criteria are experience as you mentioned.
indeed the results will be better when talking about experience but the experience will not be gained when the beginners don't want to try and create their own experience.

As of this time, we can see that Bitcoin is still dominant when it comes to price movement. They quickly pump than the altcoins to be honest as they’re a popular gateway to be converted to fiat money. It’s great to hold BTC long term and some top altcoins in the market right now.
but the reality in the market is not always like that because it is not uncommon for altcoin prices to pump faster than bitcoin prices. not only that, even though bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency not all altcoin prices move in the same direction as the bitcoin price. sometimes there are also some altcoins that move in the opposite direction to the bitcoin price movement.

Bitcoin price looks big for a common man. If the plan is for long term profiting, then myself will go with altcoins. When it comes to bitcoin, it is already proven in the market. When invested on altcoins some get lucky to make big profit. Some altcoins have got proven track record. Rather than investing on big priced altcoins, it is good to invest on potential low price altcoins and have patience for years.
