Even with the current market bitcoin is still at the top. It accounts for the majority of the transactions and simply is the measure for the other cryptocurrencies.It dominates by 44% of the entire market capitalization. It is hard to forget the fact that its price just dropped from a high of $19,535 to the current low of about $8489.
the same coin but potentially far more promising ethereum when compared with coins like bitcoin. ethereum lower value so it still has a chance to be able to have high value as can be like bitcoin.
both coins are excellent for long-term investments but buying bitcoin by the end of the year seems to be too expensive, the end of the year should be to sell altcoin. as we see in the beginning of the year there was a very drastic decline in all coins.
For me better to invest is bitcoin cause it has bigger pumps and it is just more sure coin with better future prosepcts in my opinion so investing big amount should give profit in bitcoin. both coins are excellent for long-term investments but buying bitcoin by the end of the year seems to be too expensive, the end of the year should be to sell altcoin. as we see in the beginning of the year there was a very drastic decline in all coins.

I would go for Bitcoin. Ethereum has a lot of competitors, a lot of scam ICO's and increased price. Bitcoin still has a way to improve itself technically. There are a lot of projects going on to increase speed, decrease the fees etc. I am not sure what updates can Ethereum make except Proof of Stake.
Buy ETH because its price is 14 times cheaper than BTC. Good opportunity to invest with people with small capital

Unlike bitcoin, ethereum is cheap, and stable, it has many advantages over bitcoin like low transaction costs, faster transaction speeds.

If I vote for the President, then my vote is official and no one else can vote as me.
If I sign my name on this document, then I own the car, and you no longer own the car.
Up until now we’ve carried out these agreements with a signature at the bottom of a paper document. Ethereum dramatically improves this model because it is digital, and proof of the transaction can never be deleted.

if you have enough money you can invest into bitcoin and also ethereum. because I am sure that bitcoin prices will surely rise again. etherum is good to invest For me ethereum is the next Bitcoin. Like bitcoin, Ethereum also has great potential. This is the main reason for the gradual rise in the price of Ethereum as bitcoin. 
Ethereum all the way! The use-cases of its blockchain, ERC20, smart contracts etc. are simply those of BTC superior. Just a matter of time before people starts realizing this, and the coin will go to the moon! I'll give it a year or two before it has overtaken BTC by market cap!

You are not late. Now also you can invest in both bitcoin and ethereum if you have money. Because definitely the price of these coins will rise. And I am 100% sure by the end of this year bitcoin's price will definitely cross 30000 dollars and ethereum's price will touch will touch 1000 dollars. Waves is also a good investment option.

Me personally I think better choose to buy the ethereum because ethereum nice make long-term investments and the ethereum's also good in prospect after the btc.
of course in this crypto market there will always high risks that when we just investing in one specific bitcoin or just an altcoin, so a good trader will choose to invest in both Bitcoin and Ethereum to optimize their profit and safer to keep our incomes, but we should consider to invest more than 60% into btc because BTC is the trend of cryptocurrency and much more profit in long term investments.
I think bitcoin and etherium will be the 2 coins that are interesting for the future, so there is no problem if you have the capital to invest in the 2 coins. 
Always we see this thread coming again and again. Is that being asked really? I am for bitcoin now and always. Ethereum can be always the second best crypto there is but nothing will beat the master of them all.
For me, I would have 75% of my money on bitcoin and 25% of them will be on ethereum why because even though bitcoin is currently I still believe with the popularity and attention bitcoin gain on 2017 this could help the price recovery of bitcoin this 2018 which some investors or old could look forward to, as for why I would invest some of my money on ethereum because this 2018 I am hoping that the price of this would surely increase a lot this year which why I am betting my money on this coins.
That is a good diversion. The famous Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash is more secure than most other coin out there.
