Bitcoin can replace money in future, but when that time will come that we all are not aware about it, maybe it will take decades to replace money, only thing we want is that bitcoin should be widely used and widely accepted.

Bitcoin will be a strong currency in future for sure but I don't see it replacing fiat currency in future, almost majority of the population is dependent on fiat and they use it for their normal stuffs and those getting into crypto is something unbelievable.

The money will not be replaced by bitcoin.
The money is the  money and will stay the money. Bitcoin is just another currency. That's all to it.

I think it could happen but we just need to wait till the time for the bitcoin will come.
I think in a few years its possible, but we just need to wait till its so far.

delusion, it can never replace fiat, the mass's are not as dumb as we like, they know crypto depends upon electricity which we do not control, they also know they need access to the internet which they also dont control and can be cut off as and when their ISP's see fit Sad

Its a bit tricky what your saying, without electricity there is nothing no bank can run anymore.
I think its a bit weird what you saying and I also think its possible but only in about 10 years.

top and bottom of it, are the mass's will not put their money anywhere they have zero control, with a bank they stupidly believe everybody can go draw out all their money at the same time, electricity is not needed for cash, gold or bonds, yet bitcoin or anything digital depends on this electricity which is susceptible to EMP, bitcoin or any digital currency will never replace fiat, its impossible even if all 7.8 billion of us were given 10000 sat each and told 1 sat was now worth a million dollars, the mass's would dump it all for fiat guaranteed, sorry to say it but us crypto lovers are a minority and always will be Smiley

It won't happen anytime, now or even after years. This is just a digital solution of transaction process which now to the increased users evolved as a alternate currency. By this way it has got the value. Dollar is not like that, from early days its been used as a source and has got various ups and downs which is yet to be faced by bitcoin, that decides whether bitcoin survive or not for long years

The money will not be replaced by bitcoin.
The money is the  money and will stay the money. Bitcoin is just another currency. That's all to it.

The future is always uncertain and crazy things could happen in the future. Japan's largest bank has declared that they will be making their own digital currency as well so if they succeded then the rest of the world will follow this path as well, if this happened then bitcoin could replace fiat for daily transactions
I think the so called digital currency of those large banks will be centralized one and will not follow the rules of blockchain technology. So it will be digital currency replacing paper money rather than bitcoin replacing money.

Exactly you got it.

They will just create another form of money that will replace the physical money today and still it has the same system of what the money system does have today under World Bank's regulations.

So in general it's not a whole replacement or attempt to erase the fiat.

Bitcoin is different. I see no benefits if bitcoin will replace the money system today.

Right, I believe that money can't get replaced by any digital currency, as people are using fiat currency since its inception and they are used to fiat currency, and part of the world is not aware about bitcoins, so they would carry on with fiat currency.

I think that can not easily happen. Particularly because many people do not even know Bitcoin.
And that's the problem, I think Bitcoin to be used more and more people understand what it is.

Yes that is the problem bitcoin is facing at a moment as it is not that popular in many countries, and people think twice before investing their money in something that is totally new for them, so money will still on the mainstream for longer period of time.

That's true but if bitcoin will survive for next 20 years then there is possibility that it can replace any major currency and become a primary currency, the only thing is that we need adaption on extreme level.

Yeah and if we have all merchants that starts accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment, then surely it can replace any  currency, and it would be on mainstream, but it will take time especially in developing countries where bitcoin is not that popular.

What I wonder about is the fact that in the end, when all bitcoin is mined (and there's some time to pass until then) there will still be only 21 million. Now even with the bitcoin having a good value, 21 million is not that much for a global economy.

yes it would happens who knows as well as more investors ,big bang transfer their asset to bitcoin related investment as soon as bitcoin will overcome the dollar and every other kind of electronic payment.
while bitcoin is still very volatile I think not many investors are interested in bitcoin, so it takes a long time to bitcoin become stable and more people are adopting bitcoin
