As biggest market cap value in market, bitcoin can called as king of cryptocurrency right now. I am believe bitcoin will survive as biggest market cap in next 5 years but others coin like ethereum will compete with bitcoin.
Bitcoint vs Ethereum, in my opinion both good coints are both strong coints and certainly have their own advantages, if you can invest in both cointers this will definitely be profitable, because these two cointers have good potential in the future

This is an incorrect comparison, the same as comparing Bank gold and Fiat money. One is used as an investment asset, the other as a means of payments and development. Here by analogy.
I like the option of investing in both directions. But if to make the final choice, then I prefer to work with Eth, it is now significantly strengthening its position in the market.

BTC was the 'founding father' of cryptocurrencies whereas ETH was built on top of the BTC framework to include more advanced and better features. ETH is considered the 'founding father' of smart contracts in the blockchain.
I wouldn't say one replaces the other. Both are significant in their own ways.

They are quite different and their purposes are different too.
So it's hard to compare them.
But I think that topic starter wanted to ask about investment potential.
Answer to that, in my opinion, is: no one knows that.
I like bitcoin more because this coin is designed for a long period of time in which you can invest and be confident 
Personally, I think it's only the only advantage it has,what it is designed for long-term trading.It's just that this coin is too sensational,as it is the very first cryptocurrency.More potential, I unfortunately do not see. bitcoin and ethereum are two coins that support each other, when compared, bitcoin is an ethereum landlord. so don't expect ethereum to pass the Bitcoin price.
But I believe that the Ethereum will bypass Bitcoin, although it is the most popular coin at the moment,personally I believe that its finest hour will end.Ethereum does not stand still,but is developing,albeit slowly,but it is so,and most companies are carrying out their projects on this platform,which indicates its potential and demand.
