I would prefer Napoli to win but I don't think they will be able to overcome Inter. Both teams have some serious fire power up front so I know what my bet will be (BTTS) for sure. Smells like a high scoring draw, maybe 2:2.
I don't even know what to do ... on the one hand, gorgeous odds for Napoli's victory, on the other hand, there is a feeling that Inter is just the team that will interrupt Napoli's unbeaten streak. I don’t remember what choice I made in the pool before leaving on vacation (but I will hope that I gave preference to Inter). But if you are not guided by common sense, then I would really like that the victory over Inter was the starting point for Napoli's victory this season.  Cool

I would add, smells like a pretty good match
Dzeko is one of my favorite players, so I have to be a bit inclined to Inter, but draw seems likely as well, maybe I am wrong (not following Calcio closely), but it seems that Calcio derby rarely end with a draw, and last ended with a draw between Milan and Inter, so I do think that this one will have a winner

yeah, Lazio is known to have fascist support, but that does not make you a fascist if you like Lazio, IMO

nevertheless, beside Lazio and Juve, for me it is more interesting to see how Napoli will do in Milano, since Inter is hosting them, will this be the end of their series without a lose? I do not consider betting on that one, but since it is pool, have to put something, and leaned to Inter win (maybe there will be some change, but at the moment, I think that Inter is going to win that one)
Milan is playing with Viola, and that is also interesting, seems to hard to win for Milan

Indeed. If I were to be labelled according to the brands and clubs I like/follow, I'd be a very mixed up kid. I do like the Liverpool association with working class roots, although it's hard sometimes to reconcile that with modern sponsorships etc.

My heart says Napoli for this clash but I've gone with an Inter win. At most, I'll switch to a draw. Follow the leader at this stage is the name of the game, otherwise we slip behind even farther.
I don't think politics should be involved in sports so I ignore that aspect completely. I am just interested in what the teams show on the pitch.

Serie A bump! Don't forget to play Trofo's prediction thread for Sportsbet freebies!

Late to the politics, but yeah I remember when I shared a couple of seasons ago I was supporting Lazio (betting wise and hey, my old boy Lucas Leiva was having the time of his life there at the time), then 2 guys started shooting me all the SS symbols of the Lazio ultras, and then recently  about Mussolini's great-grandson now named in the squad this season.

I mean, I do think football should kick out all of that, but just because a club has ultras isn't going to make me hate them =p Some of the Moroccan club ultras have fantastic songs, and they're leftist but equally radical, and that doesn't make me love them more either haha.

Thank you for the reminder, jeremypwr also has new predictions out. I remember wasting the freebets from the last ones I won but I can feel I will be more careful with the next ones.

Juventus must win this one coming but I guess Lazio have found a way to be winning,,, but as we all know teams have a different mentality coming back to normal football so maybe a draw is the most possible outcome for me. But still! I go for away win Smiley

Slava Ukraini!
One of the reasons why he left the post of head coach of the Ukrainian national team is probably that he was not satisfied with the Nazi mood in the team. Just imagine on the inside of each T-shirt it was written "Glory only to Ukraine and death to enemies", (this will not be shown on the news, but you may have heard how UEFA got involved in this scandal). In short, I am also very glad that the Milan pupil has now taken the helm of one of the Italian clubs!  Cheesy
Was it really needed to bring politics to this topic? What nazi mood you're talking about? As far as I know, on Ukraine shirt it was written ''Glory to Ukraine'' and ''Glory to heroes''. I don't know where did you got this phrase.

Shevchenko is back in Italy, this time as a manager as he takes over Genoa: [...] A few years in charge of Ukraine's national team, but no experience as a manager at club level. I'm curious to see how things pan out for him and Genoa, and whether he can keep them out of the relegation zone despite another sluggish start to the season. I'm willing to make a bet that there will be another coaching change in Genoa if D'Aversa and Samp don't win their next match (vs. Salernitana) after the international break.

Genoa hired former AC Milan and Chelsea forward Andriy Shevchenko as coach on Sunday, a day after firing Davide Ballardini.

The 45-year-old Shevchenko signed a contract until June 2024.

It will be very interesting to follow Sheva in Genoa, I'm going to watch some Genoa just because of him. He used to be one of my favourite players back in old good Milan times. Yeah, he don't have experience in clubs, but he turned Ukraine into really strong team. I hope he will save Genoa from relegation.
BTW, there is not much talk about it, but does anyone think that Mourinho will be sacked this season? Complete failure against Bodo/Glimt, lose against Venezia and they failed to win against all strong teams in league - Lazio, Juve, Napoli, Milan.

Bloodbath all over the league huh?

bloodbath all over Europe Smiley
even Ajax did not won home match in Dutch league, do we need better proof that this week was strange

I knew that I will suck in Calcio, but joined for the community
nevertheless, will try to get one/two yellow caps this season, did not catch any in all four pools that I am in this season, this was a good chance, but needed Milan to win last night

If you want to know the pain I had, I actually bet on Go Ahead Eagles to win at over 40/1. The big favourite drawing is painful because it was easily 15/1 for a handicap or Double Chance so losing that was my last Hail Mary that didn't work out at all this week.

I really hate internationals too so I might just stay out of regular betting and keep an eye out on specials instead.

Something was definitely in the air in Europe this weekend...

Bloodbath all over the league huh? Roma, Sassuolo, Sampdoria all losing, Milan, Inter, Napoli taking a point each. Lazio the biggest winner I think, climbing closer to UCL spot, and the worst thing for me is another international break, which means we again have no clue about how clubs will perform two weeks from now.

Inter Milan match looking at the stats is like seeing old Serie A. Goals from OG and penalties, 6 shots total from both sides... hope you got all your BTTS right Trofo.

Milan derby finished 1:1
solid match, Inter missed penalty that could make it more interesting, but Napoli is real booger, since they did not used Milan draw to get the top
Only match in the whole weekend that I got exactly right. I expected a scoring draw and even went with 1:1 in the pool. Was about the time to get my first yellow cap of the season, courtesy of slam point Smiley

There was so many strange results in all top leagues, I got rektd quite badly on all my tickets. What is worse now we have international break and no way to get some back from bookies. At least for me, since I have abysmal prediction powers when national teams are concerned.

my hopes were with Milan to win, but draw is probably fair to both teams and their play yesterday night

Lazio won easily over Salernitana 3:0

EPL is better this season than previous, and this is probably because I do not try to catch upsets, like last season, and do not play on my teams, and yeah, I do agree that Premier league is least predictable, you can see odds on matches, but La Liga as well has almost in every round four or more matches where each odd is above 2 (home, draw, away)

I look less at the book odds but some stupid analysis sites for predictions and that is not really helpful in the end as some of them are biased like me, but since I know less about this league I thought I should follow some of the experts. Same as in EPL, but the experts there always seem to get it wrong about the favorites anyway Smiley

Already put in my picks for the weekly game too, thank you!

You're right, when there is less players, it's a bit easier to recover after few bad rounds. But big part of result is luck. I watch very few games of Serie A, compared with La Liga and EPL, but it's only pool where I perform more or less OK this season. And EPL is obviously least predictable tournament, even with good knowledge it's so difficult to perform well there.
And @leea-1334 have good point, it's interesting to check global leaderboard and check how well, or usually bad we perform.

yeah, I check my global position more often, to see am I bad, or the others in the pool are great
and I am usually good in La Liga, and suck in Calcio

For sure it is a lot of luck, because in 10 rounds, it too early to see who is the real good team in football. Compare season table now and season table at the end of 38 rounds and I am very sure it is not the same teams at the top or even at the bottom,,, 100% the same for us all here.

EPL is the least predictable, except we know City is at the top in the end, right?

Global or bigger pool for sure gives you better estimate of your real performance Smiley

It has something to do with number of participants as well. It is much tougher to position well in pool with 50 participants than to position well in the pool with 15 participants. Usually in this small pools you are always within the striking distance of paid positions if not the 1st place. In Premier League pool you have 2 bad weeks and you are 30 position from the money and no way you will outperform 30 people.
