The weekly increment or decrement is more of an anecdote on its own, and it’s better to take a look at the information with a broader timeframe such as month (see https://public.tableau.com/views/BitcointalkMeritDashboard/MeritSendersReceivers?:language=en-US&:display_count=n&:origin=viz_share_link, but bearing in mind that August is logically partial).

As to Merit Source allocation depletion, it is going to vary wildly from Merit Source to Merit Source, and even over time. Some manage to deplete their allocation rather quickly, whilst others may not by far. It’s not something constant, and it likely depends on many factors such as available time, sMerit allocation, awarding habits (average sMerits per TX), reading areas, personal considerations, novelties in content, and so forth.

Allocated sMerits do not carry over to the next month. For example, if a given Merit Source is allocates 500 sMerits per 30 days, but does not award any within that period, he’d still have 500 sMerits available on day 31 (not 1K). sMerits really do not come back on a given date per month, but rather in the same amount given out, but exactly 30 days later from the moment the Merit Source spends them.

We are glad to have visited your thread about the stats and are learning how to understand these stats. Happy to know that users are being rewarded with sMerits for their works as the past week has shown a decent rise (not bigger than the fall of 18,23% though, but better).

We would like to know if Merit sources utilise all the sMerits they are allocated for a month and share them in full to the deserving candidates during the whole month or those sMerits get carried over next month if remaining?

it is just me, or in the Received Merits Subsection II graph, I can only see the merits in Meta, even if I select other boards? <…>
Fixed it. The filter wasn’t being applied to the chart. To test it, I’ve uploaded it comparing French to Spanish local board merits on the same chart. Closing-in on the gap somewhat (lead goes to the Italian local board).

<…> but I guess our mutual spanish hero is busy with something more important than that.

Very nice workaround. I didn't try before posting, but it worked like a charm upon your suggestion!

Look at the image below. I could get the data for "Bitcoin Discussion" board.

You can also hold "CTRL" button to select multiple boards.

If you want to get the data for all boards, check "All" from the subsection menu, select any board from the menu on left side of the page. and after that Uncheck "All" from subsection menu.
Below is the data for all boards.

It's not just you, I just checked it out and exactly the same thing happens to me, no matter the browser so I guess its just some glitch.

Some projects of mine are stuck because of this!
I Hope @ddmrddmr can fix it easily!

@Rikafip! Get back to work! I need to piggyback your graphic skills to decorate my aforementioned projects!

Time filters work just well, as the "date leve selector l" menu.
It's just the graph showing only the Meta board.
I tried clearing browser cache via the menu, and using Chrome or Edge didn't change the situation.

Awesome that those two members ranked up, especially Hydrogen, who seemed to have been at Hero member for as long as I can remember.  It's about time he ranked up to Legendary.
Thanks for all those who helped me to reach hero rank and this feeling is really great and congratulations to @Hydrogen also on reaching Legendary rank.Working on next target.

There's a probability that many of them have used their source merit in the first days and didn't have much source merit in the week ending on August 1.

I am one of those, and I suffered a drop in available merits in the last week or so. I know others were in the opposite situation, so we should wait a little bit for the initial merits drop to smooth a little bit before drawing any conclusion.
I am wondering what theymos does that this way and not adding only the increase on top of the current stash (If I had a 700 merits allowance, If he wants to increase my shash to 1,000 he could just add 300 smerits to my current merit stash, no matter what it is).

Another red week. I have told many time it's too early to call, but this series of red is quite worrisome, given also the infinite serie thesis.
New merit sources were allocated on July 5.
There's a probability that many of them have used their source merit in the first days and didn't have much source merit in the week ending on August 1.
I expect to see an increase in the awarded merit in the current week or the week starting on August 9.

Anyway, you are right. We should wait. It's too early to talk about the effect of the increase in source merits.

The monthly increase makes the awarded sMerit toll for July 2021 double that of the prior month, which is pretty good in absolute value terms. sMerit TXs also spiked nearly +65% which means that more posts got merited. Additionally, +42% distinct people received Merits compared to the prior month.

All in all, a pretty good month, but yes, we’d need to wait a few more to see how the lines form a trend from this new starting point onwards:
See: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.57629758

<…> Is that 5.194 given to users on average?  <…>
Nope. It’s just the amount awarded during the last complete week (26/07/2021 .. 01/08/2021). Weekly Reading should not be taken too seriously though. I much prefer the monthly readings, as can be seen in the prior link derived from the Merit Dashboard (but since I update this thread every week, I provide week granularity).

I'm confused as to what that statistic reflects (aggregate awarded sMerit).  Is that 5.194 given to users on average?  For the month of July, the total number of awarded merits increased quite a bit, as referenced in this post.  With that being the case, I wouldn't be too discouraged as the increase in merit sources and sMerit allocation to existing sources is having a real effect.  The only question is whether it'll be a sustained one.

At some point, some people asked to see on my local board that received most Merits there, and to compare that to the Merits they sent there (see sMerit - Generosos y Tacaños - Foro Español). I did this from a local board prism, but also from a global perspective of those participating on the local board. The list ends up depicting those that are most generous, but also those that are the meanest. I did extend that to all merited forum profiles, but only on the link to the Google Sheet doc (second tab).

When going over the local board list, there are a bunch of profiles that have earned merits on the local board, one even in the three digit range, but have given none or close to none back there. That doesn’t deter me from meriting them though, since I value some of their posts way more than the merits they could be giving back to the forum. One is specifically well versed technically, and his posts are always appreciated, regardless of his near to null participation in the Merit System.
