Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
The Avalon team was blocked by a flu at the time too. Funny.

David C. E.'s mother intentionally raised him to be a whiny little snot.

True or false?  Discuss...

Hi All

I know I said I'll have an update on the share verification process this week, but I've been waylaid by the flu for the past couple of days so I've been pretty useless. Most of the bits are in place and I'll just be stitching it all together and ripping out extra stuff.

I should get through it this week, sorry about the delays.

Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do.
Hi All

We've created a captioned public album of the recent site visit to the data center. Here it is:
https://plus.google.com/photos/100533316768811011163/albums/5946837483879253265?sort=1

Even though security is very tight, we'll try to keep the exact location as confidential and "need to know" as possible for the time being.

We're glad to be working with a data center which is not only willing (and able) to cater to our "special needs", but also excited by the future prospects of the Bitcoin mining space. Throughout the process they've been extremely helpful and understanding of the changing technical specifications.

EDIT: Comments on the album are left deliberately open to the public.

Very good pictures, a nice relief from the usual pixelated low res images most give out.

It almost makes HashFast being so late seem even more of a tragedy considering how prepared IceDrill is.

"Our racks and PDUs. Awaiting final dimensions from HF before setting up."

You're telling us HashFast can't tell you the dimensions of their flagship product yet that was originally supposed to have shipped 2 weeks ago?  This does not inspire confidence for even the delayed Dec. shipping date.
They will match that one.
The plan always was to ship late december.

Make sure to set up a public BTC address in your Bitfunder account, using a wallet address YOU control (ie. BitcoinQT, Armory, I think some online Wallets too but not sure which ones) as opposed to a wallet address which you don't have direct control over (ie. BTC address at other exchanges, most online wallets). If you don't you're going to have problems proving ownership.

CoinBase has a sign message feature now.  I'm not sure if it has always been there or if I just noticed it. go under "Account Settings" -> "BitCoin Addresses" Then create a new address and click the "Details" button for that address.  There will be a "Sign Message" link a box will pop up.  Type in your message and click Sign.  A long string of characters will be returned this is the "signature" you need.

Ok, as someone who bought into this damn fiasco, promptly forgot about it, found about about Bitfunder shutdown TODAY... what recourse do I have now?

Are my shares just up in smoke? Honestly a signed message doesn't mean shit to me cause; 1) I've never need to do it, 2) never felt the need to do it, 3) not quite sure what the hell signing a message is anyway.

Forgive my lack of knowledge in that area, I'm trying to bring that up to speed as we speak.

Now, am I up shit creek now or what? Guess I only have myself to blame but I'm just hoping to get out of this what I put in since life got in the way... :-/

On signing a message, here's a post by Burnin explaining it using BitcoinQT

For the moment being the only way you'll be able to trade shares for BTC is by finding someone trustworthy to directly trade with.

If they're delayed past Dec 31 I get a refund in BTC.  That's fine with me.  Good on IceDrill for wisely forgoing MPP in favor of a bet on BTC appreciation vs fiat.

Sorry again, a nice dose of reality again. IceDrill has already paid quite a bit of money on their datacenter I'm sure. HashFast might not even give them back the exact BTC they paid but instead subsidized at USD level meaning you would get back 1 BTC for every 4 or 5 spent. Be sure that if this were to happen it would be LESS "USD" than you put in at the time due to datacenter costs.

Bargraphics, you are no expert on reality.  Must I remind you of your torrid affair with the fantasy that was Terrahash?   Cheesy

You sound like a lunatic denying and discounting the importance of in-hand silicon.  I never claimed the chips were hashing, that was your strawman.

Too bad Terrahash never had in-hand silicon!   Wink

WRT Icedrill, you fail (as usual) to understand exactly what you're investing in, resulting in you throwing yet another public tantrum.  How embarrassing!

7.  What guarantees have been provided by the hardware supplier in terms of delivery date?  We may not know exactly WHAT the date is, but there's a date after which a refund would be preferable to delivery (as the hardware would never pay for itself from mining).  At what date is a full refund of all funds paid to them allowed to be requested?  Have they provided sufficient financial disclosure that issuer is confident such a refund could and would be honoured in the event they were unable to deliver the hardware by such a deadline?  Estimates of delivery are fine for planning purposes - but a hard deadline beyond which they are in default and must refund (and/or pay penalties) is essential when signing a contract.

From the sales contract:
Estimated delivery date: October 25, 2013.  Hashfast will have no liability for early or late delivery; provided, however,  if
Hashfast does not deliver by December 31, 2013, Buyer may cancel its order for a full refund of amounts paid to Hashfast.

Rather than cancel its order, Buyer may agree with Hashfast to an accommodation.

We have confirmation from Hashfast that they will refund the amount in BTC (i.e. not USD).

Seriously just stop.. you are clearly putting a lot of effort in to trolling or whatever you call it but please for the sake of everyone here uninstall windows and never return to the internet.

Nobody thinks hashfast will deliver.. We should really stop with this whole preordering thing because clearly it fails. Companies have no incentive to get their products out ASAP as they already have their sales before a product even exists.
