I think I'm still using 0.9.6, how exactly dos one "update" ?
You download the latest release from the client file area and update the files listed in the client file area.

Also, I deleted a unconfirmed item and stock was never released.
I believe this was fixed in the newer releases.

@bitfreak!
SteamGamesBTC.com has been updated to v0.9.9, tested it out a bit and I can say it works like a charm (the feed problem has been fixed). Thanks for your great work! :-)

Version 0.9.9 of BitShop has been released. I didn't want to release it so soon but I had to patch a potential security hole in the payment gateway as well as fix a bug with the feed and some other miscellaneous stuff. Anyone using BitShop should upgrade to v0.9.9 as soon as possible.

My plan was to include a lot of large improvements such as an automated install script to v0.9.9 and then allow a bit of time to collect bug reports so that v1.0.0 would be solid. But now I'm going to have to include those large updates in v1.0.0, so before I release v1.0.0 I'll have to let a few people beta test it before I release it.

I can't distribute code changes so I sent bitfreak a massage about it. Hopefully he can implement it into the next patch.
I will try to include it in the next version. But I'll put the code in a different file so that the update time can be set separately.

what I would love to see is say after 24-36 hrs that a transaction remains unconfirmed that it's automatically removed to restore stock.

I modified my mtgox_update.php to accomplish that. I can't distribute code changes so I sent bitfreak a massage about it. Hopefully he can implement it into the next patch.

Let me answer you. It's fine and works good then. Because once someone's buying the product, the item stock is decreasing by 1 as reservation. Don't worry, the code will be sent only when the payment is made. In my case, when I don't see payment after day I'm removing the unpaid order from admin panel, then stock is increasing by 1 (back to original, in your case 10). And codes are untouched. This is how it works.
Thx, I kinda figurd that out myself... what I would love to see is say after 24-36 hrs that a transaction remains unconfirmed that it's automatically removed to restore stock.

In the admin area where it says No. unconfirmed transactions. I have a 1, and if I view the product page it shows 9 of the original 10. Does this mean the person already got the code sent to them (it's a code product) ?

I ask because when I goto edit codes, it still shows 10 and I thought they were removed from play when a purchase is made. Also don't know the time of the "attempted" transaction.

Thanks to steamgames I was made aware of some bugs with the new search functionality in the latest release of BitShop. If you already downloaded version 0.9.8 then download it again to get the fixed version and update the 3 files listed in the client file area (read the notice).

I was also wondering what are some good options for web hosting that meet the requirements for BitShop
Pretty much any host that supports PHP and MySQL should meet the requirements. But I don't have a list of hosts available. Maybe some users of BitShop could list their web host in this thread.

and what would be involved in switching the BTC price data from Mt. Gox to Bitstamp?
That can be done with a single change to one of the config files.

Is it possible to deliver an item without sending an email? For example, by displaying a link or key code directly on the website after payment is received.
The key/link is displayed directly on the website at the end of the transaction. In the case of keys/codes an email is also sent just to be safe.

Also, how are the BTC payments and addresses handled? Can the script be set up to generate receiving addresses from an Electrum master public key?
A new address is generated by for each new transaction. The addresses must be manually imported into your own wallet. This was discussed on the last page.
And no it cannot generate deterministic addresses from any type of seed, it generates a completely random address every time.

If someone were to download your content and then reupload it, the only thing you can really do is threaten them with legal action and hope that they stop. That's a problem with pretty much any digital item, and there is no easy way around it.

Name change soon (hopefully)
This is awesome!

How do you verify authenticity of people selling digital goods ?

1. Lots of scammers may try to upload opensource projects and sell
2. People may download something and upload it back again to sell it (by changing names/ minor content) . Maybe do a content diff to verify authenticity

Great start though ! I plan to extensively use this site !

I don't think this is possible, as only you can manage items. Correct me if i'm wrong.
