This is awesome!

How do you verify authenticity of people selling digital goods ?

1. Lots of scammers may try to upload opensource projects and sell
2. People may download something and upload it back again to sell it (by changing names/ minor content) . Maybe do a content diff to verify authenticity

Great start though ! I plan to extensively use this site !

Is it possible to sell normal items (not digital) with this script?
No not really. If you want to sell physical items then your best bet is to use one of the common shopping cart software packages and then install a Bitcoin plugin for it.

Could i see a copy of the install instructions to see if I should wait or purchase now!
You basically just have to edit a few config files, set up a MySQL database, and create a cron job.
There is a video tutorial available if you want me to PM you the link (although it's a bit outdated now).

The majority of files probably need to be updated. If you haven't made any customizations to the script then just install a fresh version of the script. If you want to keep your current database data then just export the data and then import it into a fresh database (it should work but if you get any errors send me a PM).

Thanks will try it tomorrow (later today, need sleep )

I finally found my product key to download the update v0.9.7...Your update instructions to that don't go back far enough to see how to update from 0.8.4b...yes, I know, quite outdated. I had contacted you with my purchase transaction ID from March 13th, 2013 but you said you were unable to help me without my installation key...well, I found it today, so what do I need to update to the latest..specific steps for that old of a version?

Thanks

1. Yes you will have access to updates for as long as your license key is valid.
2. It should take about 10 to 20 minutes to get it fully set up. There is a video tutorial to help you.
3. It will support other coins in the future but it will be quite a while before that happens.

I'd love to use this script! Can I use it already? or do I have to wait till v1.0.0 is released?

Keep up the good work!
You can use it, but it doesn't yet include an automated installation script, meaning you have to set it up manually (there are instructions for how to set it up). It's also missing some other features like multi-language support. But it's entirely usable and many people are using it now, and you can always upgrade to the newer versions of BitShop when they are released. The price will also go up a bit when BitShop reaches v1.0.0.

Drupal have built-in sqlite supporting,
wordpress have "sqlite-integration" plugin which works very well,

so I would like to use sqlite as db backend in most case.

It will be great if bitshop add supporting for sqlite.

Can you add support for sqlite?
It's possible that I might include support for SQLite before v1.0.0 is released but I've got a bunch of other updates I need to get done first.

I'm not sure what you mean by a "pay what you want option". Can you elaborate.
I think someone requested that feature earlier in this thread but I had forgotten about it. It means that the buyer can pay what ever they want (anything above 0 BTC or a set minimum). I might also include such a feature before I release v1.0.0.

Ok, I have released v0.9.7 of BitShop. It adds support for Tor users and other clients with rapidly changing IP addresses. Unfortunatley it still requires javascript to be enabled because it's just so deeply integrated with the way the payment gateway works. In order to add support for those without javascript I would need to completely recode much of the payment gateway and I really don't want to do that.

Version 0.9.7 also allows buyers to recover incomplete transactions in the case where they have accidentally closed the window or something similar. If they come back to the shop website after such an error they will get an option to continue with the transaction. And the last new feature it contains is the ability to change the price type (avg, close, high, low, etc) from within the main configuration file.

Ahh, makes my mind sit at ease now heh.

Good to hear. The other thing I should have mentioned is that you should also probably delete the keys from your database after you export them so that the next exportation operations don't include all the keys you have already exported because it will become quite slow when you have a lot of keys.
