Yes, and we should also look at the age as a deciding factor, we say that Beterbiev is still strong, but boxers are good in their last fight. And if this fight goes distance, he might be affected and he is not used to it. And because of his age, he might tire much earlier.

So there are a lot of potential narratives that can happen as you have said. Might still be hard to see what will happen, and the odds are very close and we might be talking about rematch and what not based on fight 1.

If you are betting on Beterbiev, you believe that he could win via KO, and if in case the fight will go to distance, you'll know that your bet is losing. That's it, think it simply, just trust your fighter and risk your money. He had fought young fighters and defeated them, and the fact that he is the favorite to win here (based on poll), that says a lot about his chances of winning, so we should be confident with that.

@Baofeng. I very much agree on the no boycott. Mucn of the world might have also forgotten about the war on Ukraine vs. Russia or much of the people have stopped caring. We are very distracted by all these new information being shown to us constantly by the internet.
Yes, I do agree, the war has been forgotten already and the world is back to normal already and so sports shouldn't be affected by what the geo-political events that is going on beyond and behind.

Mauricio Sulaiman also appears to have caring because he is allowing Beterbiev to fight a Russian national hehehehe. Sulaiman had very strong objections against Russia's war and Putin before hehe. Also, on which side is Saudi Arabia? I reckon they denounced Russia's actions against Ukraine. Everyone knows I like conspiracy theories, you know what I am implying with this hehehehee.
I guess it's all about the money, and if it is good for WBC and the Sulaimans, the fight will go and continue regardless of who they support or what is their political believes are. Saudi doesn't care as well, it's sports for them, they have the luxury, rich oil money flowing to boxing and who wouldn't want it? All of them are into it, Arum, Hearn, Sulaiman and every entities in boxing and they will say yes to Saudi Arabia right now as what fight they want to see.

It has always been about money and also maybe making an agreeable decision. When the war in Ukraine was only beginning, making the decision of letting Russian athletes compete was very unpopular. Many people wanted a boycott and this forced sports organizations to ban them. I reckon the only big sports organization that allowed Russian athletes to continue was the UFC under uncle Dana's instructions.
Yes, when money talks everyone listen, even those who have their political beliefs, at some point they have to trade it as boxing organization and boxing in general is business. Specially win the entry of Saudi Arabia right now, no one can deny the fact that they are giving this promoter big money to have fight in their country. So step aside their political beliefs like the WBC and the Sulaimans. Good for Dana and now it make sense as we are back in the normal and Russian players are now allowed in every sports and hopefully the next time, sports is not going to be affected.

This is a very interesting fight, I don't have any opinion on who will win on this one.  Beterbiev being a heavy puncher and Bivol is a tough opponent and a tactician, can see how to mitigate Beterbiev's explosive power.  If Bivol can stand Beterbiev's punching power, I think he will win this match.

Same here, very tough to choose whom to bet, and this is what makes this fight interesting.

If Bivol's defense could hold up until the final bell then there's a chance that he could pull a win here as Beterbiev is not used on fighting the whole 12 rounds so he might gassed out if that scenario happens.

Good thing that they are bringing this fight to our table while the two are still on their peaks.

Both boxers each have good records and both are professional Russian boxers who already have quite lot of titles, Beterbiev is the only boxer with an accumulated knockout win of 100% because all his fights were finished by knockout.
Bivol himself has also fought without defeat, both fighters are undefeated fighters and fighting for the undisputed champion title will definitely change their record of losing for the first time.
I think making Beterbiev the favorite is also worth doing because he has very hard punch and is able to make his opponent fall down and not be able to continue the fight, maybe Bivol will also suffer knockout defeat.

All Arthur needs is just one clip, Bivol will not be able to balance himself the entire round. I don't know how true it was but they once had a sparring according to some boxing news which Bivol also lost. Arthur had been calling Bivol before which was unanswered.

True, this could be a test for Bivol on how tough he is.  As I stated if he can absorb Beterbiev's power punches without any issue then with his style, he can outmaneuver Beterbiev and win. But who knows, I believe both camps will give us a surprise.  This fight is indeed worth watching.
Bivol has good fighting tactics, he can take advantage of all existing situations, but his opponent is Beterbiev, who has hard punch and is always unpredictable.
Seeing how Beterbiev fights is truly amazing because he suddenly hits without stopping.
With the surprise blow given by Beterbiev, I believe that Bivol will definitely come under lot of pressure.

There will be no boycott here, this fight is going to be held in Saudi Arabia and not US. And with the big money involved around, everyone should really work together, and that should be enough motivation to make this fight as one of the biggest this year that is not a Heavyweight or Welterweight fight.

Politics has to be set aside, this fight is not for the boxers but for the fans to witness a real entertainment, and they are professional, they are paid to do the job.

professional boxers are never boxers who bring politics or war in their country in boxing. professional boxers carry their own names to make money. just like other sportsmen or professional workers in other fields all carry their own names professionally to make money. just to make money. unless you retire from boxing then you can do politics to defend your country just like vitaly klitchko who became a politician and became a mayor in kiev who defended his country in the ukraine vs russia war. bivol and beterbiev are both from russia so there is no political war in this boxing match. only boxing does not exist.

I think both boxers does not want drama, they just want to fight and declared to be the best in their division. This should be fun, and a lot of money are stakes in this fight, so they can't afford to postpone it worst cancel it. The venue is set, people are expecting it, this should happen.

I'm not discriminating but this is what I like about Russian-based fighters they came to fight they don't want dramas compared to US-based fighters, they don't thrash talks and they behave well in press conferences, maybe because of the language barriers they are not good in English.
Is there a possibility of a rematch or even a trilogy just like what happened in the Canelo - Golovkin fight?

If the fight becomes close I believe there should be a rematch, but of course, it depends on what happens in the first fight and the boxing community's reaction and feedback this is one legacy fight and very important for both fighters, one's zero and his title will have to go on that night.

Yes, I would love to see a rematch if this fight is going to be close, and just by looking at the odds, it says 50/50. So even odd makers can't decide who is going to be their favorite and that is good enough that this fight might go to distance because they are even right now as per the odds.

For sure, fans are going to love and will react for a second fight if the fight is like controversial. Like the first Canelo and GGG fight, wherein majority thought that GGG won that fight, but it was a draw from the judges.

It could be depending on the outcome of the fight, if it's gonna end up a controversial fight, then most likely the promoters will give them another shot. The fans would love it as it will create more hype and they could easily sell the fight to the fans.

Bivol here is Canelo while Beterbiev is Golovkin since he is the older champion.

I don't know if it will be a close one since Beterbiev is a KO artist, all his fights are in KO, so either he lose if he could not KO Bivol or this fight will end early and he'll be the winner.

His record here is just too impressive to think he'll loss vs Bivol - https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/646981

If Bivol could even win, it could be a decision. But he will have to risk slipping his shots to make Arthur respect his offense. Making Arthur fear Bivol's counter and volume punch too. Bivol is the underdog, the consolation is that they fight in Saudi and he gets a huge money bag still.

Politics has to be set aside, this fight is not for the boxers but for the fans to witness a real entertainment, and they are professional, they are paid to do the job.

I thought back then that there would be a ban on Russian fighters during the war, but here we have proven that sports should have nothing to do with politics in war, and peace sports should be allowed to move on, It is good that the fight will be held in Saudi Arabia it's a neutral ground as Beterbiev is currently residing in Montreal making him the favorites by the crowd if the fight is to be held in Las Vegas.

Boxing sports is an entertainment, it's not wise to put some politics on this sport as it's about making money. Banning a country for this sport might signal something bad as it's like bullying a country or might be challenging for a war, they don't want that, they want a peaceful business and wants to run it smoothly.

I hope there will be no delay in the fight just like what happened to the Fury - Usyk fight, Beterbiev has a history of delays it happened in his bout against Callum Smith because of his dental surgery, I hope none of this will happen here and the June 1 schedule match will happen.

That's only the danger though, as we have seen in the Fury - Usyk fight. There are so many factors that we can't anticipated, like a accident in sparring or suddenly the fighter fell ill. These two though are tough individual so I don't think they will want to delay this fight.

That's true we have no control over the situation and because of their passion during their training they get into injury, so I will not be surprised if anyone suffers an injury but I hope there will be none and the fight will push on the given date but if ever there is a delay because of injury from anyone of them, they will all agree that they will not look for other fights but will wait for the other to heal or get better, so the fight will happen.

I have Beterbiev winning the fight by decision or knockout, I like pressure fighters because they love to engage but it goes down to who can take the punch from the other, between the two Beterbiev is the heavy puncher based on what we've seen in all his fights

Perhaps it was just the initial reaction of the world, so including Sports like boxing who doesn't support what the Russian did on attacking Ukraine. But just like the pandemic, this war have soften some and their stance back to normal that the fight or any boxer should continue regardless if they are Russians or not.

@bisdak40. There is certainly no real fan of boxing that will boycott this fight. We can be quite certain that it is the stupid government and sports governing organizations that want to boycott this fight because of a war that different governments are encouraging to continue.

In any case, on Bivol vs. Beterbiev, Bivol has the footwork which might be enough to avoid Beterbiev on the first 6 rounds of the fight. However, on the 6-12 rounds Beterbiev might have a chance to stand in front of Bivol and force Bivol to fight. We can be certain that Bivol will taste the punches of Beterbiev and as a Bivol fan, let us hope that he is strong enough to survive this hhehe. I presently do not have a prediction for this fight.

@Boafeng. What is your prediction?

I stick with my prediction that it will be Beterbiev, maybe by stoppage or if Bivol's chin gonna hold or at least he will make this fight difficult for Beterbiev because of his movement and will have the fight into the center of the ring.

Two possibilities here, either Beterbiev winning by KO or Bivol winning by decision. Bivol isn't a champion if he doesn't possess the skills of a champion, and he has already fought a fighter that is a well known champion, although that fighter just try to move up and maybe wasn't comfortable with his weight. These two are great boxers but good thing both camps agree that they'll have to break the tie breaker now and we will know after this who is the king of this division.
