I agree! Canelo is expected to be the favorite ofcourse as he is always been the favorite in almost all of his fight but this time the underdog, Dmitry Bivol is not an easy opponent to deal with and he is much more confident as this is his own division unlike Canelo who's just his 2nd time visiting this division. Both will be tested in this fight though I won't deny that Canelo still have the most chances to win.

Bivol needs to show everything Canelo is challenging him in his division, he's more familiar and the chance for him is still there. Though like what both see Canelo still have that good advantage but we never know what Bivol can do when he meet Canelo inside the ring, there's a chance that he also studies how Canelo fought and find the good strategy to compete with him with great pride.

We will only declare or conclude who won the fight when the decision has already been announced!

I think he already put that in his mind that he should not be distracted by the people especially now that there's a conflict in their country against the whole world, there's no need for him to worry that much because booing is just a part of it because he is fighting in a hostile country where Canelo is certainly the favorite. But yes, I surely do hope that the level of hostility is not that bad and only just some verbal approach.
right, he must be aware that the ridicule did come from outside and what he is doing now is completely different and has nothing to do with the war that is currently happening because of course he also doesn't want this because it will definitely be a bit of a hindrance for him.

Canelo is still the seed but when he loses when there is ridicule and bluff for him about his country's problems there is definitely a reason for him to dodge Grin

That, I believe, would be the motivation of Bivol on this fight.
But we will see if Canelo is indeed prepared for this weight division.
GGG is waiting for him already. So don't know what will happen if in case, Canelo will lose to Bivol on this match.
But Canelo is still the favorite of sportsbooks. Can Canelo live up to the expectations of his fans? Let us watch...

A very good question that only time can answer, everything will be concluded after the announcer dictate the name of the winner, though you are right, Canelo still the favorite according to bookies and still fans expecting him to perform the way he always deal with each fights that he have from this sport.

Let's wait and see if he will continue to dominate even in this new division, though he's no longer new to this but deciding to
jump up again. That is another thing for this star.

He don't have any choice either, he need to make that as his motivation rather than a hindrance and he should be well used to it without thinking any hostile activities outside the ring because chances are that people will only do some verbal actions at him and not the other way around.

Canelo on the other hand have already stepped foot on this specific division but Bivol holds more experience on this division than him because he is the defending champion. We may see Canelo adjust and be more comfortable just like what he always do whereas the latter is already comfortable as this is division. It will be a tough fight between these two, cannot wait to see it.

Back to the fight, I hope Bivol won't experience an unfair traits from the live audience but he still needs to prepare himself for that situation and get himself focus on the fight.

In fairness to those people who will watch the fight live, I doubt there will be a hostile approach toward Bivol.

I don't see any related thing about that happening on the day of the fight as most people understand that these Russian athletes shouldn't be involved in any hatred act. Dmitry Bivol has already expressed his concern about the on-going conflict even before.

His statement should be enough for people to understand what side he is on - and it's about peace.
Even if that is the case Bivol should have trained himself with that in mind, after all Canelo is loved by the public and almost everyone there will be supporting Canelo and not him, so some hostility should be expected from the get go, the issue is the level of that hostility, as long as the public is respectful and they are just booing him then that is fine since it is within the confines of what it is acceptable for them to do.

He will be traveling to a hostile environment and this should not be the first time that Bivol experience this. For sure when he has started his boxing career, many doubt his talent.

And hopefully he can translate this hostility to motivation and show us that he can fight with the best of Canelo, setting aside the current war that is going on.

Yes you are right that mate GGG struggled in his previous fight against Murata but as we saw he can adjust easily and win by a TKO every single time GGG maintain his feet in front and read the movement of his opponents that's the reason why he can win against the younger opponent.
About canelo alvarez and GGG fight more thing left to file the game and it was cameo must win his fight against bivol.

GGG manage to observe and find the right system to finished Murata, He still have it as how we seen him fight after that long rest, if ever the next big fight will be the trilogy it will be an interesting rematch between these two well-known champ, though Canelo now is way far in terms of success fans still wants them to be inside the ring again.

We might hear more noise about the trilogy after this fight against Bivol, afterwards we will expect more updates and hypes
regarding to this trilogy.
interesting rematch and a big fight of the year I think cause the battle of two veteran is very good to watch and we all know that they are good fighter land canelo wants to prove that he is the one and only champ but GGG will take this opportunity to steal the belt and claim the championship again. Canelo need to past his opponent right now to fight the dream fight of the people.

I guess the issue of these Russian fighters isn't that bad anymore unlike the few weeks when the invasion had started, I also do hope Bivol won't experience such thing to discourage him just like Petr Yan have experienced.

Being an underdog doesn't really mean that he's no chance to defeat the favorite at all, an upset is always available in the fight no matter how slim that chance is. Bivol is much more confident in this division than Canelo as he is the defending champion but knowing Canelo, he will always find a way to defeat his opponents.
Agree with what you said. The frying pan for news related to Russia is not as hard as it was before although there are still a lot at this time because Russia hasn't stopped it yet but now there are some rules that are starting to loosen.

Bivol still have a chance and don't really care about being underdogs or anything but the chances are still open now. what to do now he must focus and not be distracted by anything

News are not hard as before? Maybe you are not following the happenings there? It is worsening. Most of Mariupol has fallen into the invaders. There's the Bucha massacre and as days passe by there are more and more war crimes happening.

Some rules are starting to loose? What specific rules? How can Bivol not get distracted? Bivol's family is in Russia. Things changed and it won't be normal for him. I believe Bivol won't be hearing the Russian national anthem. He cannot bring the Russian flag. Nor display it in his attire. I think even the word "Russia" isn't allowed come fight night.

I think @alpamar99 was referring to the Russian boxers and not the whole invasion issue because it's literally haven't cooled down even a bit except if he's not informed about the news.

However, there are some rules that have been loosen like the Russian fighters or athletes like Dmitry Bivol can now participate their respective sports unlike in the past where all sports industries have posing a strict rule to these Russian athletes that they cannot participate in the games or their specific games will not be sanctioned. And you're correct about that, Bivol is still cannot bring and wear any Russian related things especially their national anthem.
That's right, because we are in a boxing thread, so I did discuss that and since the boxer we are discussing now is Russian national, it is not far from being banned, not discussing the current conflict.
With this easing of course there will be good things there and I still hope this is over soon and the easing is getting stronger

I usually like underdogs. So I am rooting for Bivol to score an upset. He's got the skills and size to utilize over Canelo. But I am not betting here. It is very hard to beat Canelo by decision even if he is losing in the actual fight. Only Floyd beat Canelo and the scorecards were even close despite the former clearly out boxing and out smarting the then young kid from Mexico.

I hope Bivol's training camp is doing well. I hope Bivol is 100% come fight night. I hope the Russian will be treated fairly. I said this because just nearly 2 weeks ago, Russian Petr Yan, an ex UFC champion had issues leading to his title fight. The fight was close and many (including me) thought he won that fight but he lost. Boxing (and mma) is an individual sport and should not be included in world sanctions against Russia IMO.

Well, to start the Russian invasion is now much harder than before and the cities of Ukraine is still burning into pieces but yes I agree that there are some certain rules that have loosen if you're talking about these fighters. In the past, this fight was threatened not to be sanctioned because of Putin's actions and trying to get back to the Russian citizens is a way of other countries to boycott the Russia's move towards Ukraine.

Back to the fight, I hope Bivol won't experience an unfair traits from the live audience but he still needs to prepare himself for that situation and get himself focus on the fight. He should not be distracted by any means because he might get surprised by Canelo's punch Grin
That probably he receives criticism from the live audience, he'd rather expect that much and be prepared for the situation. But, I just hope that there is no physical confrontation outside the ring.

Anyways, I just hope Bivol remains on focus and won't get distracted by the possible issues or else, not just he got surprised by Canelo's punch, this will lead him for losing the fight. However, Canelo's still on the higher chance.

We can not say that after canelo beating the triple G in the last fight he can beat again in this fight.  Yes without a doubt if he can win in this fight he will be recognized as tougher boxer in all time but we can not say that in earlier stage of the fight. Causes we all know how GGG will fight even if in his age get older but he can fight and win against his opponent, and after all happening in the last fight between him and canelo for sure he will adjust and make some move to win the fight.

GGG seems in shape but if we saw his last fight against Murata, he seems struggling in the early rounds although fortunately, he get back on his feet and did a 10th round TKO. That incident where he was struggling against an aging Murata shouldn't happen against Canelo as currently, Canelo is in his prime and a much better fighter compare to Murata.

The speculation if GGG can still match Canelo will just be known on the night of the fight.

In almost every forum there is Russia and Ukraine war - everyone is banning Russia from every sports. But how will we be able to counter the war.
Russia is an oil producing country and the world would not ruin their relationship with Russians. So these bans and sanctions are useless - instead of deadlock there should be dialogue.

He is in shape of course because they had a lot of time to prepare for their fight as it was rescheduled for another 4 months after the Japan announced it's lockdown last December, so I'm thinking that GGG have started slow because he is still trying to get back in his rhythm and get comfortable inside the ring after not having a fight more than a year. While he is adjusting, he also tries to observe Murata.

I agree, this discussions are just a mere speculations and no one here could predict the outcome. We will see it soon if our speculations were right.
