I agree, defeating Alvarez will be a huge accomplishment for Ryder.  He doesn't need to win via KO just a plain winning, may it be a split decision or majority decision is enough to boost the career of Ryder.  But of course, if Ryder won via KO that will not only make a statement but an exclamation and make a huge uproar of his career.

Take note mate, when fighting Canelo Alvarez, don't expect that scorecard will be favored his opponent unless a clear win per round is really shown like what happened when Canelo fights Dmitry Bivol where the latter clearly won most rounds as judges won't be able to even attempt to make some cheating where Bivol is really the clear winner on those rounds.

A split decision in favor of Ryder is absolutely impossible to happen, believed me. The only sequence that will make Ryder a winner is, if he will have the same performance as Bivol did against Canelo, or if Ryder will find a way to Knock Out Canelo. No other way.

And that's where corruption or least biased judging from the judges comes in. Canelo is the cash cow of boxing so they don't want him to lose, simply as that. Even in the GGG fight, in the first fight, clearly it was GGG that should have won that, but there was one judges who score it 118-110? what the hell is that scoring if not maybe the judges is in the payroll?

Anyhow, we know that Ryder chances are very slim, unless he really won via KO which is impossible to happen as Canelo also had a granite chin.

Users as well as bettors are favoring Canelo because based on speculations, Canelo got more facts and already proved what he can do inside the ring while for John Ryder, he is still on the process of making his own name and carved it in the industry. This will be his biggest opportunity because he is fighting to be a champion and will acquire all four belts of Canelo, but before that, he should prove himself that he's worthy. People would want to see this Ryder perform and that includes me, he's an interim champion, so I expect a good fight from him.
He better prepares himself as he has  never done during his life as he is going to have everything against him during his fight against Canelo, and if he wants to get the win he will need to KO Canelo, but this is going to be extremely difficult and even if Canelo is coming off an injury I still think he has what it is necessary to get the win against Ryder without too much of a problem and then set a rematch against Bivol.

Doesn't need to be a KO, what John Ryder needs is to have most scores in his favor in almost every round where the judges might want to help Canelo but their hands are tied because people knows who's the winner, just like what Bivol did to Canelo as he didn't KOd Canelo but he proved that won most of those rounds. I think there's a chance, although, that's very likely because of the fact that this is just a tune-up fight.

I agree, Ryder doesn't need to knockout Canelo in-order to make a statement, in plain point, he just have to defeat the undisputed champion regardless of what way it would be. But the thing is, I don't think Canelo will just agree with that one because he is also looking to fight the guy who gave him a second defeat in his career and then there's another opponent that he needs to fight (the winner of Plant-Benavidez fight), that means that Canelo will have to step on John Ryder.

Obviously Canelo will not just let that thing to happen.  He has a career to protect and a title to defend.  Canelo will also do his best to beat his opponent so I think this fight will be more interesting though I guess it will be more on lopsided having Canelo the advantage.

Long story short - this is going to be a useless fight for Canelo, that only his fans would watch. Real boxing fans are not much interested in this fight, as they expect nothing outstanding from it. Expect pressure from Canelo and a TKO in round 4-6. That is it.
I don't think it will be a useless fight, yes it's a cherry-picked fight but the boxing community will still be interested but not to the point, of buying high prices for ringside or PPV, the media will watch and follow the development, and the actual fight if you're an undisputed champion and on a ring magazine people will still be interested to follow your career.
Who knows Ryder can offer something and give Canelo a tough fight, boxing fans want action regardless of who's fighting. and boxing fans will watch boxing as long as it's popular boxers regardless of who they are fighting.

Then I will ask a bit differently, if there will be two huge boxing fights running simultaneously or Canelo vs Ryder fight will be running parallel the sports/team you are fan of, will you rather watch Canelo vs Ryder fight or other sports event? Personally, I would watch something other, and next day morning just google for result.

Or lets discuss what this fight will give Canelo despite even more money? He wont be getting any new belt, he wont advance in the rating, a victory over Ryder wont open a gate for a new opponent. Imho this fight is only needed for him to perform in Mexico and be 1000% sure to win. That is it. Easy and useless fight.

I'm both a Canerlo and a boxing fan I want to see good boxing, remember the Ruiz - Joshua fight, it looks like a cherry-picked fight but it turn out not to be and turn out to be a great boxing match if boxing fans just shrug off this fight and call it another guaranteed win for Joshua then they've just missed a very good fight, how about the Tyson - Douglas fight it looks like a walk in a park but boxing fans still watch it so they are treated for the biggest upset, we boxing fans loves good boxing so boxing fans will watch it because they love good and high-level
boxing, this could be a walk in the park for Canelo but we will still see good boxing and that's a good reason to watch it.
I think it will be a good fight as we all know that both higher are good in terms of fighting as we saw their previous fights it's look like we can see a very close fight and even though some user are favored Canelo alvarez cause without a doubt canelo is a strong fighter and have a very good fighting skills that he can adjust his techniques in order to win the fight. But for sure John ryder will be fight and prove to us that he can beat canelo.

Yes and that is already expected especially on the side of gambling, bettors will always tend to side with the boxer who got more chances to win a fight despite its low odds than to risk their funds to bet on a risky bet with low chances just because they are after of the high paying money line. But, there are some instances that the underdog is worth betting for but I think this is not that instance, although an upset might happen but talking about that chances, it's just less than slim.

Canelo wanted to see how big his fight will be in Mexico, and a win win for him for sure as it will solidify his status and maybe now there is a debate for him as the greatest Mexican fighter if he can fill up that stadium.

Canelo has put himself into a trap, that he is so good, and others are so bad that he must move to other division to attract people to his fight so that he could earn. That is really bad, because ticket and PPV sales would decrease, but Canelo would expect same or even bigger cheques.

He has been the cash cow already though, so money will be in the table for him.

I think in this fight, it will be a huge sell for fans.

Why bookies think that John Ryder is such an underdog and give so low odds? Because of Canelos fame and record and Ryders unconvincing victories in last fights ? Or because middleweight division was already cleared by Canelo and there are no more fighters left, so he makes this cherry pick fight, specially to perform in his homeland?

I find it really hard to comment on Canelos fights. He has became boring for me. His fights have predictable outcomes (when he fights in his weight division). It is boring to watch his performance in middleweight; hard to follow his career when he does not aim to move to other divisions.

This is just a tune up fight for Canelo, so they have to get someone who at least good in paper like Ryder. Canelo is so good in this division that he is the king of MW for many years now, and Ryder might be another British boxer that he is going to defeat.

He did aim though to move to other divisions right? During the WBC convention like a couple of years ago, he said that he will be fighting the champion in CW in Makabu and the WBC approved it. But that fight didn't push through and instead target the light heavyweight, Bivol. Surprisingly, it was a upset win by Bivol as Canelo might have bite off more than he can chew. Now he goes back to his comfort zone in Middleweight and fight Ryder in his own backyard.

Not even thinking that the fight will end up in a big upset the same as what Bivol did during Canelo's peak. John Ryder isn't even close to the possibility of doing that. Although Ryder is currently in the top rankings and is eligible to be a contender, others viewed him as not capable and credible to be Canelo's opponent.

We should be supposed to see instead, Benavidez or Bivol facing Canelo but I think politics again ruined the deal.

Although, at some point in the future, we will surely expect to see these anticipated fights being materialized.
It’s upset for certain people and not welcome one for some people.John Ryder game was good player,Ryder was in the top ranking of the game.Canelo game was good for now,if he fight with the Ryder. This will be the thought fight for sure.Benavidez game was definitely different one,as compared to current situation. It was predicted one Benavidez will face the Canelo in the upcoming matches. If the Canelo had the chances to face the Bivol in the game,he will prove his full stuff in the game.So Canelo will lead the match to next level of competition.

Canelos game was accepted one from all age groups of people. He had all age group as a fan,So most of the people will have the positive comments towards the Canelos as compared to the Ryder or Benavidez and Bivol, even the Bivol game was most impressive in the league. Most of the people forget about the legend Bivol in the previous matches and his knockout games in the past years. The past matches should be considered for the new matches decision.

You're already answered your own questions Tongue

Since you've think the outcome is already predictable, that's why John Ryder odds is really so low. Canelo was previously move to light heavyweight and fight with Bivol, but the result isn't expected by him since he was lose on that's fight.

It seems he's fear to rematch with Bivol, so he's either waiting someone beat Bivol or he want to warm up first.

I just understand why people would watch it, buy tickets or PPV, when it is clear that 99.99% Canelo would win that fight. Neither it is possible to earn here for gamblers. 1.06-1.10 odds is like nothing. I mean you bet 100 bucks and win a beer... Who would sigh for that Cheesy

As to Bivol, I cant say that Canelo is afraid. I would say that both Bivol and Canelo are not interested in that fight. Canelo has tested himself in lightheavyweight. Bivol earned money. Everyone got what they wanted. Also, I doubt that Bivol would accept that fight. I think he is about to meet Beterbiev, and Canelo has nothing new to show as a lightheavyweight.
