By the way, I have also heard Anderson Silva is going to box against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Yeah, lets put up some link regarding on this one.

The trend is on but even i do close my eyes you would really able to tell on whose gonna win. LOL!

This one is going to be a real fight so I find it a bit more interesting than some of these exhibitions. Chavez Jr. is so inconsistent that it is really hard to predict the outcome of this fight. In his prime he would've easily beaten Silva but in some of his recent fights he has quit at the first sign of trouble.

I'm glad that there are an equal support from these two fighters, some are in favor of Marquez while some are for Cotto.
Loving the poll result, it's current 4-5 in favor of Cotto, but I'll make it 4-6 because I'll bet for Cotto here to win the fight.

There are 2 who voted for a draw, but I doubt this will be a draw, its just an exhibition fight so draw is unlikely.

I think the opposite is true. A draw is more likely because it is an exhibition just like we saw in the Tyson vs. Jones fight. They probably already have two belts ready to give them also.

This is a very interesting match up Cotto just retired three years ago while Marquez 6 years ago it's very interesting who still got it, Cotto is a slight favorite here he is younger and just retired three years ago, it's much more interesting if these two fighters fought in their boxing days, they have a very similar style, they go all out and both are good as a counter puncher, I don't expect a slugfest here just like they do in their heydays since this is an exhibition match and they are aged and out of the ring for years.

Really? May I know what is your basis mate? I mean do you have a betting odds of this fight already?
IMO, Marquez is the favorite here since he beat Pacquioa, but we can only tell if what's the betting odds really if the odds are already available.

I think he based on the poll in this thread. 7 vs 6, in favor of Cotto.
I'm also rooting for Marquez, but he retired 6 years ago and Cotto was more active.
They have reasons to choose Cotto. Marquez will be a rusty one here in this match.
But since it is just an exhibition fight, don't expect too much.
No odds yet for this one, but just discussions among boxing fans.

Actually it's 7-7 now, Cotto seems to have a better boxing technique but in terms of durability, I guess Marquez had an advantage on that. I think this fight is not even finalized yet? I haven't read the full report but if this will happen, I'm hoping to see a KO win by Cotto like Marquez did to Pacquiao.

Lol, this is just an exhibition match, there's no one that going to be KO here.

Just like what we seen in the Tyson vs Jones exhibition. Everyone wanted to see Tyson brutality going after Jones, but it didn't happen. On the contrary, we've seen the worst, a draw, which majority of us see it at somewhat the fight is rigged from the beginning, resulting to a lost for the betting public (Tyson is the favourite).

On my own, I dont like this exhibition fight because there will I guess a possibility that their fight becomes scripted and sometimes we think that not real, their making entertainment to people you have watched. They are just kinda making money and it will I guess not give their full fight because that is just an exhibition fight, well that is only my opinion.

I also favor too with Cotto here, since he is a younger fight he has still be able to fight and defeat his opponent quickly. Let us wait for the fight and I don't know how many of them will like an exhibition match.

Another boxing exhibition match brewing up. Some are still in the pipeline. Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. were done as well as Nate Robinson and Jake Paul. Dela Hoya is planning to return. Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul's match was postponed. Jake Paul and Ben Askren are expected to face each other inside the boxing ring come April. Entertainment galore!

I guess this is courtesy of covid-19 as ex-boxers and other MMA fighters and other sports discipline is finding their way inside the right and generate money. Miguel Cotto and JM Marquez has a storied carrier in boxing and maybe they wanted to box again, make money or donate the proceeds to covid-19 victims in their respective countries.

I hope this is for charity or else the organizers are just like fooling the fans with such kind of fights. There are more promising prospects out there. They should instead focus on them. They should instead devote their money and time trying to put up better fights. I respect these boxers but it is undeniable that they already have their time. Now is the time for others. Let the limelight be focused on the younger generation.
Charity or not it doesnt matter and i agree into your words that they should rather skip on making these exhibition fights but instead make out some focus
into those who are really still active and not into those celebrities or retired boxers who do make out exhibitions because people wont really be that much of interested
with these kind of fights.

There might be some who will be that eyeing on some but not really that much.I'd rather wait for Joshua and Fury fight and reserve up my money on that
compared if you do waste up money on these kind of things.

It surprising to see these two clashes again in the ring, and this is their trilogy fight and again Miguel Cotto had a comeback fight and win against Margarito in Dec. 2011 that Cotto has won, well this time I don't really know if who's going to win now they both stops on the year 2017 and doesn't have any matches now Cotto has retired after his fight with Sadam Ali and Margarito have retired on 2012 and return between 2016 and 2017 but doesn't seem to have any matches after that, but let's just wait there is plenty of time to analyze and give a decision on this one.

This is exciting since I've never seen Marquez in the ring since his last fight with Pacquiao, it was a solid knock out victory for him. Cotto lost to Pacquiao so I'm placing my bet on Marquez because his play is in fast phase yet still has the power to deliver a solid punch. It's all about technique and experience, and Marquez has all of that. Bit since it is just an exhibition match, I think they would not go all out but would just gonna show some new moves or their signature moves.

I'm glad that there are an equal support from these two fighters, some are in favor of Marquez while some are for Cotto.

Seems like the voting is close to each other having 4-3 in favor of Cotto .

I have voted in favor of draw but not because  of my disbelieve of Marquez. My decision is largely due to the nature of this match.  If Marquez could go back 10 or 15 years and have the opportunity to clash  with   Cotto he  could  beat him. But now it's not the time to decide who is the best "light"-weight boxer.

I guess its nice if we will see the betting odds of this fight, I would like to see it first before I will make my decision.

Both are good fighters, so it's hard to decide, however since I like to bet the underdog, I hope the odds for the underdog is good.
For now, I voted for Cotto to win, but it's not final as I said.

But I'll extend my support for Marquez as This Man has a Secret Power that Made Manny Pacquiao Sleeps for a While in their last bout  Grin

This is a little more complicated if you imagine that between Cotto and Marquez, both of them have a good history in boxing, both of them have won world boxing fights, this needs negotiation in this match.
I'm not sure what do you mean by complicated, this is a exhibition match between two retired boxers. This is a easy negotiation because this is what is it, exhibition, similar to Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones.

Talking about (Cotto), maybe a little hopeful in winning this time, Cotto is not only a boxing legend, however, in the country of Cotto, Puerto Rico almost all corners have a tradition in boxing, it is recognized by the world.
However, anything can happen in the ring that we never expected, but my belief is Cotto has a good chance this time.
Of course, Puerto Rico and Mexico has rich history of boxing, and we can call they rivals. Cotto for me has the advantage in this fight because he has fought a lot of good and bigger champions.

Yoshie probably meant the fee. there is going to be a price for both to agree to terms. Tyson and Jones must have talked about how much they both get including the PPV shares. thetwo country have been both rivals since the time Felix Tito Trinidad was one of their best way back, i bet against my classmates betting for golden boy de Hoya. both countries are the ones dominating boxing, i guess this time they wanna match up again who got the better warrior.

Cotto is the fav because he's much younger but if they are both young, i'd go for the counter puncher.

I'm rooting for this matchup to really happened and be put into reality because these two are great boxers.

In this fight, I will probably place my bet on Marquez because we all know that he had a close fight with Manny Pacquiao which is a legendary boxer in the history. Unlike Miguel Cotto who became a punching bag after fight Pacman. But seeing these two punch each other inside a ring is really a good bout to look forward to.

I'm a guaranteed bettor for Juan Manuel Marquez as he can really dominate his opponent with his strong and lucky punch, like what hit Pacquiao previously on 2012.

If both camps will treat this exhibition fight as a serious one, and prepare for it, it would be hard to know who will emerge as a winner. Been years that they are inactive, so they do need rigid training to give good fight inside the ring. Sometimes, training is a very important factor when it comes to actual performance of the fight. Once they step inside the ring, we will know if they still have the power left for boxing.
