Message @Hhampuz if you are looking for a CM!
It makes me smile how the poll here has equal votes for both George Kambosos Jr. and Devin Haney as possible winners in their match while the odds on betting sites are favoring Haney over Kambosos Jr. with a significant margin. No doubt that Devin Haney is indeed a good boxer. He's the more athletic between the two. He's got the reach and could effectively keep the distance with his far-reaching jabs. But Haney doesn't have the power to end the fight early. And since this will probably end up in a decision, I think Kambosos Jr. can very well make points and win.

I broke the tie now, LOL.

Well, both boxers are good, so it's not a surprise to see a close voting competition in the poll provided by OP. I love this fight actually because the playing safe vs the aggressive fighter is going to meet, and let's see if Haney will be able to effectively use his strategy against Kambasos, if he could not KO Kambasos, let's also see how the judges will score the fight.

^^ They've seen that they have been criticized after the Manny Pacquiao fight. So I think they will not make the same mistakes in a high boxing match like this because all eyes will be on Australia again.

So it's better for Kambosos to really show that he dominated the fight by all means so that there will be no controversy if he won by a decision in his home court.

The odds in losing the match are definitely going to be infinitely better for Devin Haney. Which is a far better way of saying Haney does not stand a chance against George Kambosos.

The Manny Pacquiao fight was a total disaster, I doubt that they are going to go down that route a second time. I mean it was just a bit too sterile, even for the fans. George Kambosos Jr. said that he is grateful for the time boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has spent with him inside the ring. So no disrespect to legends.

Fight will be interesting.

Haney is favorite in this fight, so he has a good chance to win even if it is going to be held at George Kambosos back yard.

Of course many have pointed out that the Manny fight was really a disaster as it was obvious a homecook decision for their boy. But they have learn their lessons and maybe the camp of Haney knows about this one and probably will not allow it to happen. AFAIK, boxers will also have the final say as who will judge their fight so they have the right to say no to someone who they think that are not going to be fair.

Check out the training videos of both fighters side by side and make your conclusion:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMas9aiJxLs

Yeah for sure this is just sessions with their trainers, but you can clearly see who has more power in those videos and who has more finesse. So it will be a stylistic match-up and whoever dictates early will probably win the fight.

It is unlikely that someone who participates in competitive sports likes to show all the cards. Rather, on the contrary - maybe in this video one of the athletes deliberately behaves awkwardly in order to create the wrong impression about himself? I think that the one who excels in agility will dominate by the end of the fight (if he lives), usually such confrontations go exactly like this: if the advantage in strength is not realized in the early rounds, then it becomes less and less noticeable because the one who focuses on strength gets tired faster.

Yes of course. When it comes to training their special and specific strategies it will be confidential. Even sparring sessions, top fighters will prohibit their spar mates to take videos or at the very least they can only release and disclose it after the fight.

I kind of agree that the faster guy will dominate the fight since both have speed and Haney is also a defensive fighter. But whoever throws more combinations and maintain its energy and stamina will be good indicators too.
I hope they aren't that seriously dumb to expose their preparations and trainings to the public and have their boxer in a tight spot because he is exposed, though I think it's unlikely for that event to happen as trainings is a closed venue and it's guarded as there could some paparazzi and media lurking somewhere just to make a headline.

About Haney and Kambosos, I can't really choose between the two of them for now. I won't deny that Haney has the advantage but Kambosos cannot be underestimated as well.
Well, the video of both boxers can be seen that they do not show everything as it should be, they do not show their strategies, their normal way of training, what they give is a very small idea of what they are both doing. For me Kambosos is one of the best boxers out there, the technique he has is exquisite, it is not to belittle Haney's technique, but I see that Kambosos is more hungry to win, he is more eager for things to be given to him, it is that even the look is something different.

Of course they are things and details that can be seen with the naked eye, the fight determines many more things.

I'm really seeing a rematch even if Kambosos will lose or Haney.

It still going to depend on the match, if its a close fight and the result is a majority or a split decision then it deserves a rematch but if one boxer totally dominated the other boxer, I don't think there will be interest in a rematch, we all know promoters they want to see if the fight will generate interest if not they will just shelve it or the purse will be lower than the first fight.

Yes, I agree. I'm just saying that these two boxers will somehow face each other in a rematch soon because I'm really seeing that this will be a tight and close bout as their abilities and capabilities don't have that much difference, the only difference is their style because Kambosos is aggressive while Haney is more on defensive. But as said, this is just a pure speculations until the announcer announces the result.

As you have said, their style is very different so for me this might be not a close fight. If Kambosos power can overwhelmed Haney then this might be quick and might not last 12 rounds. But if Haney can frustrate Kambosos with his defensive style then maybe this could be a boring fight. So it will be up for Kambosos, if he can perform similar to the Lopez fight I think he has a good chance to win by KO.

^^ Yeah, this is the possibility, we know how they robbed Pacman before and this could happen to Haney as well. So Haney should watch out about it and should be wary that the judges might be biased. The best thing for his is to score a knock out so that the judges are not going to be involved. Used his technical skills and make Kambosos not comfortable, this is the only way that Haney will win in this fight, knock out total control of the fight.

Pacman seemed to have really been robbed a win. In this case though, I think it'll be a fair fight. Both are on their prime and are expected to deliver what the fans are looking for. Still, seeing a knock out would be amazing! But maybe not on early rounds. I love the thrill of watching great fighters fighting it out and outwitting each other with their unique styles 😁👊.
Seeing a knock out an early round will end all the discussion, hopefully this will not be the case this time as we have seen them how they fought so hard that will make each round very alive and exciting. With Kambosos raised from Australia, i guess he will be more motivated to give a fair fight and show what Haney has not seen from him so he can make his native land proud of him from his come back.
He will definitely look for a knock out here, he is fighting in front of his fans and they will all go crazy if Kambosos will knock down/out Haney early.

Haney on the other hand, doesn't care if the match is going to be held in Australia, he just want to get the belt from Kambosos and unify as a champion although there is a rematch clause so he will have to beat him twice and let the other champion chase him.

Yes definitely! It would be nice to see a knockout but I don't think that something like that could happen in the early rounds, maybe in the late rounds somewhere round 8-12 where both boxers are already weary from fighting 7 rounds and giving their all.

Hopefully that something like that won't happen again this time because it will really give Kambosos a bad history and it will be an embarrassment to the whole boxing community but I seriously don't think that they will do that again, not when all of the world even the boxing management is watching them.

Certainly the point, rematch will only happen if the fight will end in a close bout without some knockouts in between rounds or their skills don't have much gap. Either way, this is an interesting match and only time can answer if there will be some rematch after this. Might as well watch and enjoy this fight first because both boxers have something to prove and both have a clean record. Only one of them will survive as I think a draw in this fight is not possible.

Just to let you guys know, there will be a rematch clause according to this article:

The 23-year-old Haney’s legitimate ambition led to him signing contracts for what could be back-to-back fights against Australia’s Kambosos in his home country.

https://www.boxingscene.com/haney-i-inspire-young-old-guys-other-side-street-stuff-out-window--165748

So that's how confident in this fight, if he beats Kambosos, he will more willing to fight him again in his own soil and beat him the second time.

That's a good one, if there will be a home cooking in Kambasos home, then most probably Haney would have the same treatment in favor for him once the rematch will happen. But of course, we don't want to see a dirty officiating or judging because it's a disgrace of the boxing organization.

Another good thing is that we will see a great fight 2 times because of the rematch clause. It's like the Fury vs Wilder fight which even reach a trilogy and it was a high generating revenue fight. I'm sure I will not be bored watching this fight knowing how aggressive Kambasos is and he does have a good stamina to finish the 12 rounds if he would not be badly beaten by Haney.
Yes, as long as there would be no cooking show then this one will be definitely worth to watch and won't be a boring fight indeed. I still believe though that Australia will not do such thing in this fight to embarrass Kambosos because he already have the skillset which could defeat Haney if he will get caught by a serious punch coming from Kambosos himself. I'm really seeing a rematch even if Kambosos will lose or Haney.

Yes, certainly it is much better to see a tough fight but also a fair one without pulling some dirty tricks just because it is their home ground. They will fight on their home soil respectively and they already have the crowd advantage so there's no need to pull another trick just to make sure the fight will be their favor. Instead of hyping ones name because of his success, it will be a huge embarrassment and his name will be dragged because of that dirty trick.

If both will win in their home country then we will surely see a trilogy. If the fight is not boring, of course will draw the attention of the crowd and they'll make a lot of money on this fight. Too bad for Lopez, if only he beats Kambasos then he should be in this situation now. I will support these two fighters as they are both undefeated but one is just a heavy favorite to win.
It seems Lopez is scared to face Haney, that's why he choose Kambosos since he thought he will easily beat Kambosos... but it's not. He won over Loma on October 2020 and there's no fight until November 2021, 1 year is enough to setting up the fight against Haney to be honest.

Surely it will be interesting if both won in their home, even Kambosos or Haney lose in their first match, they're nothing to lose since they have a chance get back their titles on second match. Haney got my respect to attend the second match against Kambosos, as we know he's a favorite in this match.

Speaking the heavy favorite which is Haney, the odds is 1.52x right now... I don't think it's heavy favorite, because I've seen another boxer has below 1.10x odds.

It's far from being the outstanding and heavy favorite. And Lopez can pull another surprise in this fight and most probably we will see another one even if Haney losses. There are a lot at stake here, this is unification so it make sense that a rematch clause is in place and put to motion. Agree as well that we might see a trilogy here, so the other fighters in this division will have to wait like Garcia and Haney if they chooses to remain in this division and willing to wait.

Maybe, but if I would be Haney, I would choose a boxer who are holding a belt, and in that matter it's Kambasos who holds the belt now and while Haney think he has a great chance of winning, so choosing Kambasos is the right decision. However, he should not underestimate Kambasos as he was also the underdog in the Lopez fight and yet he stunned Lopez.
