I think boxers know that already, if they have to travel to their opponents home court, they better bring their A-game because they know it will be very hard to win unless they scored a knock out. But there is a big question here, Haney is not known to have a great power so I'm not sure how he will achieved that. He is known to be a technical and skilled fighter though, and this is his bread and butter so he should make use of it against Kambosos and see if judges will favor him or not.

The Horn - Pacquiao is a bad example of a hometown decision the boxing world does not want to see another scandal like that and Kamboso doesn't want to win that way, I'm sure Haney is fully aware of that and he doesn't want the fight to be close, because if the fight is close, the judges can justify a home town decision, so Haney should be decisive and dominant on his performance, not an easy task but he is capable.

Message @Hhampuz if you are looking for a CM!
I'm just talking about the possibilities here, if he wanted not to have the judges involved in the scoring and if he believes that there could be home town decision that will not be in his favor, he better try to score a knock out in this fight. Or if that is not possible because he doesn't have a good knock out percentage then he has to look from his arsenal on how he is going to upset George at this home court.
The judges decision may be in favor of the hometown fighter because it is common knowledge that everyone knows, if Haney does not dominate during the fight it will be a bad decision from the judge, it is better for him to put all his strength into attacking every round to look for KO opportunities, if the fight ends KO then it is a fair decision in the opponent's hometown.

I'm sure he already understands his chances, so he will work his ass and try to find a way to KO Kambasos. Of his 27 wins, only 15 of them are coming from KO, and we all know how strong Kambasos is as even against Lopez, he was able to take the hard punches of Lopez.

@Hypnosis00, that's correct mate.

This fight will take place at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia on June 5, 2022.

There's no official odds yet but obviously Kambosos will be favorited with +190 while Haney will become an underdog with -220

I don't know why Haney is the huge underdog he has proven himself and has been dominating the lightweight division, Kambosos is a great fighter but I still consider Haney the best lightweight champion even better than Ryan Garcia, the boxing community saw a big motivation for Kambosos because it will be held in Australia and we all know what happened to Pacquiao when he fought there, but we have a fighter here in Haney who can overcome all odds I precited he will beat Kambosos hopefully by knock out because we all know home town decision can have an impact here.
We must remember that the odds given by the casino are not only the probabilities of one fighter beating the other, casinos also need to take into account how people perceive the fighters, it is not rare to find instances in which the casinos gave odds that made one person or team the favorite, and then the odds make a turn around and then they become the underdogs as the majority of the gamblers made bets for the other person or team to win, I think that after the exhibition against Lopez gamblers were so impressed by him that Kambosos would have been the favorite against almost any fighter, however this means making a bet for Haney to win seems like a good idea right now.

@Jawhead999, sorry guys but I think you misunderstood the betting odds.

+190 is the underdog, while  -220 is the favorite, which means Haney is the favorite to win not Kambasos Jr.

^^ Yeah, this is the possibility, we know how they robbed Pacman before and this could happen to Haney as well. So Haney should watch out about it and should be wary that the judges might be biased. The best thing for his is to score a knock out so that the judges are not going to be involved. Used his technical skills and make Kambosos not comfortable, this is the only way that Haney will win in this fight, knock out total control of the fight.

I don't doubt about Haney's skills and IMO he have the higher hand than Kambosos Jr. here, however I think that he will have a hard to time trying to figure out a way to knockout Kambosos and judging his 5 recent fights (4 of it was a UD and 1 RTD) he doesn't have that much ability to finish this Kambosos with a KO and his KO rate says it all. I'm afraid it would reach into a decision again, but yes he really need to be wary of getting robbed and he just have to use his reach advantage against the latter while trying to pull a knockout, we don't know maybe he can.

I don't know how it becomes obvious, Haney has never been underestimated in any of his fights he always comes out fresh and dominant, sure he is fighting a guy who beats the man, but that's a different scene back then, Lopez is underestimating Kambosos, it's unlikely that Haney is going to do that to Kambosos, he will come prepared and will do what he does best, I expect Haney to win by decision.

It will be a good fight no doubt about that since those two can surprise each other by actually showcasing their boxing skills in the ring. This will be the most exciting fight this year in that weight division because both are strong and champions especially since these guys haven't been lost in their professional careers as a boxer.

Its usually what will happen when fights will be done in the country of one boxer. Sometimes a referee or a judge will be bias. Two undisputed.champions fighting can be hard to foresee whom to out your money on. But if the fight is in the country of one, you can expect a bias.

With Haney's experience versus Kambosos, you can be sure to look at Haney to be more versatile. And is the underdog? They definitely degraded him already even the fight hasnt started yet

Being labeled as an underdog is just a term to determine which one is better to bet because normally the favorites are there basis but on this one, but being an underdog doesn't coincide the strength and power of the boxer beholds. You'd be careful where to bet because Haney here is more versatile than Kambosos, he is just lucky because the fight will be hosted in his own home soil.

I do believe Haney has lot of chance to win. But I'm not going to be surprise if Haney loses thru the bias judge. I'd be more convince if the referee is using an ear piece during the fight.

I would rate them to be a perfect match both have their strength to knockout. Haney could even be more technical but my take is its going to be beyond their boxing skills when the venue is to consider.

Devin Haney also appears to be more faster in the ring, I reckon. We also have witnessed that George Kambosos wants an opponent who would be in front of him and box, very much similar to Teofimo Lopez. However, Haney will not be this fighter. This will certainly be a much harder fight for Kambosos.

Also, @Jawhead999. Kambosos is not favorited for the fight, he is underdogged hehehe.

We have 3 pages in this thread and only 4 voters. There is only 1 voter for Kambosos and there are 3 votes for Davin Haney. I might have influenced those 3 visitors during the discussions hehe. Do not listen to me, listen to the experts @bisdak and @Boafeng. I am only speculating that Haney might be underestimated hehehe.

The title deserve a very good fighter and not a dull one.

All the titles are on the line so we need a very good fight, I believe these two will deliver a good fight not to impress the judges but for a claim to be the best fighter in the division, both fighters are not power punchers but Haney's chin is a suspect here let's see how Kambosos will exploit that weakness, both fighters are good at running and counter-punching but on this fight, Haney will do the running as he has to protect his chin.

Ok, watch this press conference to announce the fight:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhEbVTqBGu0

As you can see there's already a heated argument between the two, hehehe. Yeah, and this is going to be a war, winner becoming the undisputed champion.

That would make this fight very exciting to watch. Kambosos needs to collect one belt only to become an undisputed champion but Devin Haney is sure a tough opponent and he should stay focused like what he said in the conference. Kambosos looks so confident, I like that, it means he believes in himself that he can beat Haney although I think Haney is the favorite to win.

It will be an easier way for Kambosos to gain another title in case he'll win this fight but I'm sure that Devin Haney will do everything to defend his title so it will surely be a tough match. If we'll look at Haney's previous fights we could see how aggressive he is and that's something that Kambosos should be ready for.

George is good at taking out the strong points of his opponent and so is Haney. But it seems that Kambosos is prepared for what Haney will offer in this fight. Haney doesn't is not a good puncher, no power behind it at this weight class but he cover it with his technical abilities. On the other hand, George has the power, it was evident in the Teo Lopez fight. For me Lopez is one of the biggest puncher in this division but George was able to take that out from Lopez and then he himself dishes out one of the worst to a champion in this division. And now that he has the belt, everyone will go for his head including Haney but I think Kambosos will win this fight.

It's good that we have a poll right now the first time I comment there was none I'm the first voter and I voted Haney for this fight but I do have huge respect for Kambosos because of what he achieved in just a short period of time, but Haney knows so much about ring generalship he is a modern-day Mayweather, very technical, this is going to be close and I'm sure Kambosos will be highly motivated because he is going to fight in his native Australia.

And now, makes us 2. I, on the other hand, voted for Kambosos.  Grin If Haney is the modern-day Mayweather, then, Kambosos should really be more aggressive here. We all know the style of Mayweather and a lot don't like it because of a boring one. I hope they will fight toe-to-toe and not be too technical about it. The title deserve a very good fighter and not a dull one.

Kambosos is a young fighter who can easily adapt to the boxing skill of his opponent and he can counter him with power punches once he can take his punches. After all, Haney is not known for knocking his opponent that much and that would be a great opportunity for Kambosos since Haney hasn't won by KO in his last 4 fights. I think he can beat him in the early rounds since boxers like Hanny are known to avoid power punches and get some clean points by countering their opponents which will be hard for Kambosos if the fight will reach the officials decision.

I thought Ryan Garcia will unite all the lightweight belts but it's Lopez and now Kambosos or Haney will have a chance to unite all the belts in the lightweight division.
He's only popular and too much hype about him, while he doesn't even have any world title after fought 21 times. I feel he already enough about his populary and hype, so he wouldn't want to be a challenger to get a title. If Haney win this fight, it must be very unbelievable...

Kambosos will have to train harder because it's going to be a lot of running in this fight and he must get a sparring partner who moves like Haney, a technically sound boxer.
Yep you're right, toe to toe isn't good to fight with Haney, run and distance strategy are good for Kambosos.

Anyway I have created the poll, go vote which boxer you think will win in this match!
