April 15th, they move the fight closer which is good. Ryan says Tank is prolonging his inactivity while he wanted to fight him without tuneup.  Great to see them finalize the date because we're all sick of them avoiding each other. Whoever falls anyway fans will be cheering again. They are still young and who knows this will go further than a rematch because of fans' demand.

Let's see what the result of the fight is, but it is final for April 15th, and Ryan is a really great trash talker, and Tank is not prolonging that fight; it is just because he fought recently in January and needs rest and then training. This would be in the headlines for sure, as this fight is big! A rematch would be possible if it was a close fight and both parties agreed to it.

They will not avoid each other, both are very much willing to win and believe they will easily beat their opponent. That's what I like, they are eager to make this fight happen and moving the date closer is just a great statement on how interested they are. Fans are definitely waiting this fight, they will be disappointed if this will be cancelled.

They are both throwing accusations at each other, and I'm sure this will continue until they finalized the contract and the deal, both are trash talkers and they are going to hate each other until they face in the ring, we all hope that this will not become another Crawford - Spence scenario where they agree to fight but for some circumstances, the fight won't push through, we are tired of this kind of scenario boxers should go for legacy not for money, not because they are going to lose the zero in their ring record.

They hate each other prior to the fight and it has that been for years. And now that they fight is inching closer, I doubt that this two will simply stop. On the contrary it will be very vicious verbal jabs between the two.

We really don't know who is going to win with this trash talking, but for sure we would like to hear more of that because that is part of selling this fight to casul and hard core fans.

I really like how Ryan Garcia is talking because it will improve his value and people might think he could really beat Davis. I really don't know who will win, both have a strong chin, well for Garcia he went down once but we saw how he stand up and beat his opponent that fight. I'm really excited for this upcoming fight, we should see a very entertaining one because now they are already throwing verbal jabs.

There is someone who I have always said, boxing, despite the fact that it has a lot to do with physicality, can be won but obtaining a lot of intelligence, and I have known that for a long time, and here in the forum they have let me know, nothing else I can do Name a fairly intelligent boxer like Mayweather, the day he fought Pacquiao, I didn't like that fight because I knew he was running all over the ring and Pacquiao was just looking for him, 'Mayweather only fought in a very technical way and That made him win, even though for me it was the worst fight in the world, years later I came to understand that Mayeweather knew that his best option was not a hand-to-hand confrontation, because he might have lost, but on a technical level he had the advantage .

Gervonta Davis psychologically better equipped to defeat Ryan Garcia says Eddie Hearn

Indeed, Tank Davis is pretty much psychologically better than Ryan Garcia. I have no doubt about that!

Golden Boy prepared Garcia well before he gives his Go signal to fight a champion and this time, they really needed a closer to showcase Ryan Garcia's talent and Davis will be the key for that because it will literally hype Garcia's name if he can defeat Tank Davis on the process. But that won't come easy because Davis got some real IQ in his temple especially inside the ring. Pretty sure this will be a nice fight to see, a battle of knockout specialist.
that's why this fight is very interesting to watch for me it because of the title once Garcia will win in this match there's a big chance of let say this is the key to be more famous and stronger in his career in boxing but this is gonna be a close fight cause we all know how tank Davis fight, he has a good IQ and strategy to control and have Momentum that he must to win the match. So this gonna be a good fight .

I have not the slightest doubt that now this will be a fight that promises, and it is something that fascinates me, but we also have to take into account that now all bets can be focused only in favor of Davis, not only on the photos, which they say that he has better alignment and can do better things, I think many are underestimating the power that García has, right now we can base it on the fact that the fight could be very good and due to all the demand that this fight can have, it makes it more interesting.

Ryan Garcia calls out Gervonta Davis’ ‘tricks,’ but warns ‘they don’t know who they’re messing with’

Quote
ccording to Ryan Garcia, a mega-fight with Gervonta Davis is just a matter of a few minor details. The major one – their long-awaited showdown – is handled.

“At this point, from my knowledge, it is,” Garcia said on The MMA Hour of a reported April 15 date, which he believes could take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. “In the contract, everything seems set.

“I think they’re just working on the undercard, and other than that, we’ve both agreed to the fight. I’m ready. I’ve been dying for this fight, and I’ll give it my all to make it happen.”

Per the usual in high-profile fights, the undefeated pugilists have accused each other of trying to avoid a meeting. One manifestation of that for Garcia is Davis’ Jan. 7 bout against Hector Garcia.

Garcia said he wanted to fight Davis this past October after win three months earlier against Javier Fortuna. He said there were discussions of a January showdown. But then, he said, Davis proposed a new weight limit.

That's one advantage of Tank that I think is very important in this fight. There could be some psychological battle here, not just for boxers but from within inside. They might question themselves if they can go ahead and beat the other guy. And we all know that Ryan has some mental issues before and it causes a riff between him and Canelo and Reynoso and now he no longer trains with Eddie and move to Goosen. So still though, even if Ryan has made a successful comeback, who knows what he is going thru although he is really the one pushing for this one.

And each one says things to himself in his own way:

Hector Garcia says he’ll beat Tank Davis by being “smarter fighter”

That has not to be told, it's already given, I mean you need to be smart in order to win the fight. This isn't his first fight, I'm pretty sure he is using his intelligence everytime he stepped up in the ring. The question here, what if Tank Davis is still smarter than him, then how can he beat Davis?

Yes, this is really something that has me with many doubts, I have seen that Davis is a good boxer, and García cannot be denied that he is also good, both use intelligence, and it is not a lie that both boxers already have each other with a previous pique, it cannot be denied, but seeing how the development of both is, Davis has the best lineup, of course I only speculate, I don't know what type of training García is taking at this moment and that may surprise us, for me a Boxer A can improve a lot and win a fight if their training is committed enough that they can generate the best results, it all depends on how they are doing.

Surely Gervonta Davis wanted to be underestimated by his opponents because he's viewing that as an advantage because his opponents are likely complacent enough saying that they will beat Tank easily because they are smarter, taller, or stronger. But as of now, none of them has proven that they're much more capable and stronger than Davis. Hector might end up like Rolly Romero, thinking that he was way smarter than Davis but the outcome was definitely different from what he expected.

Tank is a champion, I don’t think that anyone can underestimate him, on the contrary, everyone understands that a fight with such an opponent can turn out to be one of the most difficult in his career. I see that Garcia behaves very confidently, in one of his statements he said that he would knock out Tank before the second round, but this seems absolutely unrealistic to me, it will be a long and hard fight, and Tank in this fight seems to me a stronger.

Davis beats Hector Garcia and it's true that beating Davis before the 2nd round is far from any reality, it's good that Hector able to
survive till the 8th round before he the fight was ended.

There are many solid combinations that Tank throws to Hector especially those convert punches that really shaken Hector.

But at the end of the day, it was Davis who take the win, and moving forward to the original topic, the date is getting closer
both fighters will take their trainings seriously, knowing that they both wanted to KO their opponent.

Hector Garcia also deserved some credits for showing an outstanding performance against Gervonta Davis, it wasn't an easy fight for him and having to manage for 8 straight rounds is considerably good as Davis is really difficult to face because of the latter's vast knowledge inside the ring. And again, it shows how good Davis is, he's been frequently doubted but he also frequently proved why he is the regular champ. In the upcoming months, he will be tested again by an another Garcia who is also a knockout artist like him, this will be interesting to see.

Yes, Hector got my thumbs up for surviving a breath taking 8 rounds against Tank Davis, really, it was not easy. But I think he could've prolonged the fight and finished it in the hands of the judges even if the fight already belongs to Davis, and if it wasn't of his eye that got injured by Tank's menace punches that made Hector quit. It was a good fight but now let's talk for Tank's future fight with the second Garcia who's much younger and stronger than Hector, do you guys think that Ryan Garcia can really do the talk that he will finish the fight within 2 rounds?

I really don't think they have to finish the fight in just 2 rounds, I don't think either Garcia or Davis will give up, normally it can be seen that everything is towards Garcia, Davis without a doubt is seen as one of the toughest boxers around. The times make Garcia look like the weakest, but I think Garcia, seeing all these statements, will not like him very much. If he is a correct boxer, I think he is training on another level. I cannot deny that Davis is very hard but Garcia has to show that he is at the level, as I have seen in some forums, when it appears they are partial to Davis.

Gervonta Davis psychologically better equipped to defeat Ryan Garcia says Eddie Hearn

Quote
By Chris Williams: Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn says Gervonta Davis is psychologically in a better position than Ryan Garcia to win their battle in April when they meet for their mega-fight on Showtime PPV. Hearn notes that Ryan (23-0, 19 KOs) has had recent problems psychologically, and although he’s come back from that, he’s not yet fought anyone near the level of ‘Tank’ Davis (28-0, 26 KOs) since then. Indeed, the 24-year-old Ryan has fought just once since returning from his mental health issues, beating a washed-up 33-year-old Javier Fortuna, who had been soundly defeated just a year before Joseph ‘Jojo’ Diaz in 2021.

I not seeing that Ryan Garcia will just knockout Tank in 2 rounds. No one has knock him out in his career, and besides, Tank has a great boxing IQ so he will not fall for the trap of rushing to Ryan's left hook and getting lay down on the canvass. This fight might goes up to at least over 7.5 rounds.

This two is going to be very cautious, but their power punches are going to be loaded and ready so that when the moment arrives, they will just unload that one and see how they will take it. Tank takes a lot of good shot from Hector but wasn't affected. On the contrary, Ryan Garcia's chin has been tested by Luke Campbell with that hook and goes down. So if Tank left hook landed flush on Ryan, who knows, it could be the end of the fight.

Usually, when two great fighters step on the same ring, especially when both are undefeated, we will not going to see any knock downs through the fight. Because, just like what you said, both fighters will be cautious and they will be more defensive than being offensive, thinking how strong and unpredictable the opponent is.
In this case, either both of the fighters see an advantage, most probably one of them will grab it to get a solid win.
Hoping to see a good action for both fighters.

That is if either one of them will be the first one to recognize the correct timing where to loose their knockout punch to turn the tide in their favor but it will be a struggle for sure because just like you've said, both of them are often doing a defensive stance rather than the offensive ones as a precautions if ever either one of the said boxers will suddenly advance. This will be a battle of brains for sure because both of them is a KO artist.

So it is official that Ryan Garcia and Tank Davis will be fighting this year on April 15. This will undoubtedly be a major sporting event this year. I am excited about this fight! Though I don't watch boxing except when Manny Pacquiao fights, this fight looks really good because Ryan is mostly what I saw on social media and Tank was in the Mayweather promotion. Though the power of Tank is very different, as is how defensive he is, but Ryan has the height and reach advantage.

Tank though is no longer with Floyd Mayweather promotion starting this fight. He didn't sign a contract extension and just decided to be solo for now. And yes, since his win against Hector this weekend, it set the tone for his clash with Ryan Garcia. Ryan was supposed to do a tune up fight as well, but decided to skip and go directly with Tank now.

Both have his own advantage in this fight, just a matter of how they are going to utilized it.

Others say that Davis has the ring IQ, but Ryan is big and has power in like him.

Thanks for sharing this information, so finally! This fight is going to push through as the fight schedule has been established already, do you guys have already picked some sides? Well, if you ask me, I'd seriously go with Davis. IQ and experience will still be the dominant factor in almost every fight, and I don't think that Davis will have some hard time here because of the size advantage of Garcia because this is not his first time fighting such boxer that is taller than him.

now that davis defeated hector garcia, will there be another garcia that will go home as a loser? that will be a challenge to ryan for their upcoming fight. i am certain, he watched this fight and maybe forming a tactic how to defeat davis. davis will be the favourite of crypto bookies for sure. but it may be a close one. as ryan did not push thru his tune up fight, davis may have advantage when it comes to prep. let's see...

More or less probably on May 2023, another Garcia will be going home as a loser.  I am confident that Tank Davis will beat Ryan Garcia because of ring rust.  there is no doubt that ring rust affects the condition and play style of the boxer especially during the early rounds.  Those round 2 knockout bluff is just a marketing strategy to make boxing fans interested in their fight.  If anyone about to get     KO'ed here is Ryan Garcia because he don't a sturdy chin.  He might end up just like Hector Garcia if Davis performs even better on May 2023.

I still wonder if backing out of his fights against Gesta is to avoid a comparison between his results against Gesta and Gervonta's results against Hector Garcia, or a strategy so Tank will think he will experience ring rust, for Ryan Garcia, this match is very important he declared himself the king and the best boxer of his generation without any titles to boost his claim, Gervonta need not declare himself because the public knows very well how good and superior he is, in May of this year we'll see if Ryan did a right decision, backing out his fight against Gesta.

I was impressed with Garcia's previous matches becais of his fast hands but it will be too early for him to declare that he's the king of his generation because he still has a lot to prove.
This match will surely be a challenge for him and to prove his real ability as a self-proclaimed king of his generation. It will be a tough match for him because knowing Davis, he will surely do everything to win this fight. When it comes to experience, Davis has an edge and he has proven a lot already. I also expect that he'll be the majority's favorite.

It's okay for me if I will not see a KO, but looking at their KO rate, I'm pretty sure that one will them will go down and the other will be victorious. We don't know if it's Davis or Garcia, but one thing is sure is that this fight is going to be one of the greatest fight this year.

We will for sure.

There will be good action in this bout and hopefully, there will be KO if Ryan will not be cautious as he normally is the one who will keep the pressure.

They just have to find thier range while being cautious with each other. It might also take more than 5 rounds Hector lasted 8th since he was also using his reach and perhaps Ryan will also take time just like him.
