Simply put, Bitcoin can be purchased and held indefinitely. However, the altcoins market is not like that and there are risks such as a sudden drop in the price of a token that cannot be recovered later. In my opinion there are many coins that have been in the market for a long time but their token price is dead.

I recently made some money through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, and I'm considering using it to purchase some Bitcoin. Only a tiny sum, roughly $800, is involved. What do you suggest doing right now? Purchase some Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency with a promising future.

What replacement coins would you recommend?
when you decided to invest tiny sum of total your money, goes with low caps altcoin which tend to be bigger swing profitable than big cap coin like btc or top 100
invest and forgot is just like buying lottery ticket which is likely to win in crypto world as long the project didnt run out of money

For my roadmap btc hold for long time and short time invest for altcoins. If you can hold some top coin for in bull market then you couldn’t missed profits. But yes absolutely trust altcoins market will make pump but need to up btc first.
Sure, most people invest in Bitcoin for a long term holding. But I think it is not a bad idea to invest in top altcoins for a long term holding, too. ETH, ADA, SOL, MATIC, TRX, or XLM look quite potential to hold for a long time. They have strong fundamentals and big community, they also still have some good developments until now. However, if you want to hold BTC only for the long term holding, it is your own right. I can agree that Bitcoin is the safest coin for investment, especially for a long term investment.

Indeed. Altcoins trend follows Bitcoin trend, the altcoins season probably happen after Bitcoin halving. If there is no significant increase in BTC price, it is difficult to have altcoins season.

Altcoins are still a good choice in this bearish season, in my opinion there is nothing wrong with choosing altcoins,
especially since the altcoin season has not yet arrived, and there is a possibility that the altcoin season will arrive in 2024 or 2025,
of course from that we can conclude that altcoins still very worth it to buy.

If you are looking to hold for the long term, Bitcoin is the best option. Altcoin investments are riskier and you might lose all your money in a single dump. However, in the short term, you can make a good profit by investing in ETH, LTC, DOGE, etc.

Bitcoin is definitely a good option for long-term investment. Compared to altcoins, the risks involved in investing in Bitcoin are negligible. It's true that altcoins are often considered risky. I think there are still altcoins in the market that have the potential to make a good profit in the coming bull season. If you look at the last short period of time, there are some altcoins that have given people very good profits in a short period of time. For example Gala, Ocean Protocol and mastic showed a good rally.2 days ago, Solana increased its price to $32, which was trading at $8 a month ago. So Bitcoin has its own importance but the benefits of altcoins cannot be ignored.
When talking about long-term investment, we really can't ignore Bitcoin,
it is a really decent and safe coin for long term investment,
other than that a top coin like Ethereum is also a viable option in the long term.

Bitcoin and altcoin, in my opinion you should invest in Bitcoin. Because, the risk of Bitcoin may be high but Bitcoin gives good returns. Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency coin. And it is high priced and well established and trusted. Alt coins on the other hand give good returns but that are more risky and sometimes alt coins have the possibility to scam which is not possible with Bitcoin. if you want to invest in alt coins, do your research and invest. In my opinion 70% of your investment should be in bitcoin and 30% in alt coins.

You are absolutely right that bitcoin investment is safe.Where the rate of return may be low but your capital is safe.On the other hand, there are many coins in the cryptocurrency market that are expected to yield a good profit, but all these coins always have risk of loss compared to Bitcoin. It cannot be denied that there are good strong coins in the cryptocurrency market that have the potential to give a good profit. If the investment is done by choosing the top coins in the market, the loss rate can be minimized with a good profit, but no matter how good and best the coins are chosen, they cannot compete with Bitcoin.Still, I think you can take a risk by investing a small portion of your capital in altcoins.

some altcoins also have trust like bitcoin, and we can invest in peace of mind, considering that usually they will have a greater percentage of profit than bitcoin. however, if we don't want to take on a bigger risk then just investing in bitcoin I think is enough because bitcoin is a reference for cryptocurrencies, if bitcoin is destroyed then most of the altcoins will definitely follow it, but it's different if altcoins are destroyed, then it has nothing to do with bitcoin

We must know that altcoins are also important for the world of cryptocurrencies, because the marketcap of cryptocurrencies will get bigger,
indeed altcoins are determined by bitcoin, if bitcoin dies then altcoins can be 99% dead, but bitcoin without altcoins will also make the world this crypto is quiet.
remember when bitcoin first appeared and there were no altcoins, yes no one knew what Bitcoin was, only a few people did,
and when altcoins started to appear Bitcoin started to develop too, so Altcoins and Bitcoin would always be related.

When I read people's messages on Bitcointalk, I get the impression that they have been in crypto since childhood haha. But as for me, only people who understand this market know that NeonLink will become digital gold in the near future.

become digital gold in the near future? Are you talking about a project that coinmarketcap doesn't even have much information on, it's not listed on many exchanges and to be honest I haven't seen it on any exchanges and even so you're still believing that it will be digital gold in the near future? On what basis did you come to that conclusion? I hope you don't put a lot of money into this project thinking it will be a great success and then you are disappointed with this project, so far bitcoin is the best and safest investment, there is no doubt about that. even if other altcoins appear

their difference with bitcoin will always be something big, because altcoins are very centralized projects in which the creator has great power, very concentrated to the point that any movement that the creator makes affects the price a lot, so there is no way for altcoins to be digital gold and be better than bitcoin. It is good that people always have this in their heads so that they are not deceived by the high possible profits that altcoins can give, the most important thing is to have a safer investment than entering altcoins that are very risky

for altcoins the most important thing is to choose the right coin.
This is when investors can't figure it out what's the best to choose. And that's why instead of struggling to choose what's the best altcoin for them to buy.

What they're buying are those altcoins and random shitcoins they can find in the market and hoping that they'll generate lots of money on them. That's the wrong strategy that many does.

And with that, others see it as something useful and working to them so they also do the same wrong strategy.

don't compare btc or altcoin. btc of course the number one coin. anything else is just supporting crypto market to be useful, adoptable, cheaper, faster and easy to use for average guy. in fact the store of value is on Bitcoin. we can call it like gold in digital world. sometimes people comparing it to alt is just does not make any sense at all. if bitcoin die, all altcoin are need to prepared for their graveyard too
I think it's obvious that Bitcoin is the king of crypto and there's no doubt about it,
So far it's been impossible for altcoins to beat Bitcoin,
indeed if Bitcoin dies then everything will also experience the same thing.
I don't think bitcoin will ever die. It is impossible because the network is decentralised. It is only possible if the death of the internet worldwide happens, which is also unlikely. Bitcoin can be compared with altcoins in terms of transaction speed and fees, smart contracts and other things that bitcoin does not have but altcoins do. But of course bitcoin is the king of the market.
I agree with your perspective. Bitcoin's decentralized network, built on blockchain technology, gives it unparalleled resilience and makes it highly unlikely for Bitcoin to ever truly die. The decentralized nature of Bitcoin means that it is not controlled by any single entity or government, ensuring its survival even in the face of regulatory challenges.

While altcoins may offer certain advantages such as faster transaction speeds, lower fees, and additional features like smart contracts, Bitcoin's position as the king of the market remains unchallenged. Bitcoin's first-mover advantage, widespread adoption, and recognition as a store of value have solidified its position as the most prominent and influential cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin's longevity and continued relevance are further supported by its large and active community of developers, miners, and enthusiasts who are constantly working on improving the network and addressing any challenges that may arise. The resilience and strength of this community contribute to the ongoing success and dominance of Bitcoin.

It's important to acknowledge the unique characteristics and strengths of both Bitcoin and altcoins, as they serve different purposes within the cryptocurrency ecosystem. While altcoins provide innovative solutions and technological advancements, Bitcoin's enduring presence and established market position make it a cornerstone of the crypto space.

In conclusion, while altcoins may offer certain advantages and innovations, Bitcoin's decentralized nature, widespread adoption, and established market dominance ensure its relevance and long-term survival. It continues to hold a significant place in the crypto market, and its influence is likely to endure for years to come.
I don't know whether you are here for the technology or for the opportunity to make money. I am attracted to the second option. Bitcoin is of course a good thing and one should definitely have some bitcoin with a long-term perspective. But now altcoins attract me more because they have been falling for almost two years. I think a good bull run is coming soon and it would be foolish not to take advantage of it.
When talking about long term investing in crypto of course I believe almost everyone will be referring to Bitcoin,
it was unquestionably worth it surely the low risk was the right reason,
for altcoins the most important thing is to choose the right coin.
