One year has passed since this thread was posted, you can check all of the suggestions last year and see how they have performed throughout the year. While everyone will definitely going to say to invest in Bitcoin, that should be what's your first choice.

BTC first and then look for some alts after that but as you are studying the market and volatility of Bitcoin, you may insert some adventure learning with other alts that you see.

This is easy to talk about when you have bitcoin that you bought at the bottom. But if for example you bought bitcoin two years ago at 50k and you see altcoins doing x2-3-5-10, it's hard to fight greed. This market is not as simple as it seems. So if you choose the right coin and the right time to buy, any investment will bring profit.

Investing in bitcoin is an experience I believe every holder should have, even if you are planing on building a good altcoin portfolio, you must have first purchased some good amount of Bitcoin, so that should Incase anything happens to your altcoin you'll still have somewhere to fall back to. Though both investment are associated with risk, but that of Bitcoin is better than other altcoins when it comes to trust. I can agree if altcoins can be pumped higher than Bitcoin. But I disagree if altcoins can be pumped easier than Bitcoin. There are some altcoins that never increase their prices again after they hit their ATHs in the last few years. Even, some of them seem to be dead coins. While Bitcoin is always increasing toward the Bitcoin halving schedule. And so far, Bitcoin always hits a new ATH in each bullrun season.

Regarding the risks, every crypto coin has the risk. Although Bitcoin is safer, it doesn't mean to have no risk at all. Don't think Bitcoin is safe 100%! No one can guarantee the profits to invest in Bitcoin. If you don't understand bearish-bullish cycle or if you feel panic of huge dump, there is a chance to sell for losses as well. So, there is still the possibility for losses even if we are holding BTC for a long term investment.

While it's common that more altcoins are profitable during the bull run, it's true that they pump more than Bitcoin. But for your peace of mind, take Bitcoin and it's still gonna make you money when the bull run is in.

Make a plan for yourself and if you insist on holding some altcoins then hold a few of it. But do not forget to own Bitcoin because this has been a low key tip but many forgets about it.

Most here want to earn more than that, i guess. That is the reason there are lots of users in the altcoin section. Bitcoin can give you a max 3 to 5 time ROI. Major altcoins can give you a max 10X ROI. If you want more than that, you need to go beyond 100 in the CMC ranking. That area is vast and there are too many options. A new one will get lost in the desert, and it's not easy to find pure water in there, so sticking to those major altcoins is somehow safer than outside the top 100.

You are right that Bitcoin is a safe currency to invest in. It is true that there are many coins in the cryptocurrency market, but Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency where we are not worried about investment . You are right, we are likely to get at least 3x returns from Bitcoin in the next bull season. After Bitcoin, if any cryptocurrency can be trusted more, it is Ethereum, which has the potential to give good returns, and is the second top cryptocurrency in the market. It is true that investing in other altcoins always involves risks, but if a project is successful, the rate of return is also very high. There are Altcoins that have the potential to give good returns in the future. You're right with the other altcoins that have made their own problems. And the investors that have been holding those like in sol, they don't want to take notice of that.

But this is a market that has a variety of choices and that's why to each their own is the plan for each individual.

We all have got choices and make your choice as the best that you can on this market when we're in the bull run soon.

If you are that someone who doesnt really like to take up risks and would really be loving on playing on the safer side then Bitcoin would really be your most viable option for you would be able to stick.
If you are that someone who doesnt really like to earn less despite of waiting for so long, then you would really be definitely looking on other angles on which you would really be that trying to look on altcoins since
these things could really give out that kind of condition on which you could potentially be able to earn up without waiting up for too long but of course it would be depending on what project you are in
and what coins you are tending to make up some short trades.

Depends on what you need bro. But if you are in middle between altcoins and bitcoin let me give you advice invest 600$ for BTC and invest other 200$ for altcoins. If I was you I will also split 50$ for one altcoin. Because there is an old saying man "Never put your all eggs in one basket".

Actually Bitcoin is best i think. There has big possibility to big profit from Altcoin but it also has possibility to lose money. Altcoin has possibility to more profit but if that's altcoin were bad then investors will losser there jas no doubt. On the otherhand Bitcoin is trusted and profitable coin i think. True, in short choose Bitcoin before anything else because majority of the once popular altcoins have been dead already. If you're too vigilant in checking these altcoins and you do believe that someday in the future they'll become a great piece of your portfolio, you should be prepared and ready the risk that you'll have to take. There are some altcoins that can be good as part of your portfolio and all you have to do is to check their history and how long they've been in the market. Most of the new projects are being less and removed from the interest of those long term investors. Me, being a long term investor I prefer the projects that have been there for a very long time and still manages to stay despite the competition is too tough. From this, you get BTC and then if you think you've got enough BTC, that's the time you have to diversify if it's really what you want.

thats the thing with lower market capitalisation coin and lower trading volume coin, they are vulnerable against the fact that they could be delisted and then become dead.
thats why holding bitcoin for long term is more preferable in this case because its just better, lesser risk of just suddenly vanishing into thin air and also if you see from the past few decades.
you could figure out easily that bitcoin in general are having massive increase over the course of the year linearly despite the fact that it might be having corrections along the way but regardless its still growing
up linearly and that alone already means its gonna be good for long term investments in which most people with large capital and also veteran of investing would most prefers.

Indeed. There are many altcoins which drop their prices and never returned to their best prices. It is different with Bitcoin, Bitcoin always creates a new ATH in every new halving. That's why it is trustable and people prioritize it as the main asset.

Yep. There are people who can take huge profits from altcoins because altcoins basically are more volatile than Bitcoin. It enables the altcoins to increase more significantly than Bitcoin in a short time. But if we don't understand how to analyze the potential price growth, we instead got huge losses because it also means the prices possibly drop even more.

We must understand this: more volatile, it means the chance for both a more significant increase and decrease.
