The decision between investing in Bitcoin (BTC) or alternative cryptocurrencies (altcoins) depends on various factors including individual risk tolerance, investment goals, and market analysis. But I will go for Bitcoin at this moment.
While many are going for various altcoins because of how profitable they are. Nothing beats still if you're going to invest in Bitcoin.
You don't have to be too stressful choosing what to invest if you just place down your thoughts on Bitcoin and let it do the job.
Compared to many altcoins, you have to be active at all times because they're more fluctuating than Btc.

It depends on how you see it, if I personally were asked a question between bitcoin and altcoins, then I would prefer bitcoin. But if I can do both, I will also do that, I mean I can invest in altcoins and bitcoins. But in this case I will prioritize my money for bitcoin, even if it has to be divided then bitcoin will get the most percentage of the amount of money I have to invest. It comes back to you, also sometimes how long are you ready to hold the asset that will really matter, in the short term or long term? usually i put bitcoin for long term and altcoin for short term.

If you choose Bitcoin to invest your capital, it will help you to achieve good income if you apply long term holding, because bullish season don't use to happen every year but if you can hold the Bitcoin above four years before you can release them for sale, you will definitely prefer Bitcoin over altcoin investment. Even altcoin can also bring you a good income, if you make a good choice to invest on a potential altcoins  because whenever the price of Bitcoin is increasing in the cryptocurrency market other cryptocurrencies price will begin to increase to alert their holders about the bullish season. If you put altcoin for short term holding, I don't think it will allow you to make a huge amount of income because long term holding always bring massive income to holders than short term holders.

Indeed. It should depend on the individual consideration. Sure, it will be based on the risk level, goals, and the result of the current research. However, if we are considering the level of the risk, Bitcoin must be safer than most altcoins. Bitcoin price improvement is easily to understand, the cycle is also clear enough. But altcoins are not really clear, they sometimes skyrocket although it is not in the bullish season. The factor can be about the hype of the project development or listing on new exchanges. But sometimes it can also freefall because of negative issues related to the teams or the project existence. Or even in some cases, the altcoins can be dead coins if they are delisted in all exchanges. This can be caused by scam cases or the projects stopped suddenly.

I recently made some money through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, and I'm considering using it to purchase some Bitcoin. Only a tiny sum, roughly $800, is involved. What do you suggest doing right now? Purchase some Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency with a promising future.

What replacement coins would you recommend?
Apart from btc, the other altcoin I will chose for him to buy is the etherium. Because etherium is alway at the back of Bitcoin that men no desire.
Yeah for long term holdings it's best to go with bitcoin first. Bitcoin is strong currency and gives good rewards. Also the price of bitcoin is very high so buying BNB and Eth with less capital will increase their value at the right time.
Bitcoin is the ultimate, anyone considering to invest should first consider holding Bitcoin before any other Altcoins. Secondly when choosing Altcoins also considering top Altcoins that are closely associated with Bitcoin like the Ethereum and so many of them. The reason is to solify your investment knowing despite anything, it may only take a few more time to hold but you making profits is inevitable. Then you can aswell go for many other, there are many more new Altcoins that could worth investing.
so which coins are those?because when you said there are  many other altcoins or new coins that can be worth investing then maybe its good if you share us one?
can you name one at least because I am also seeking to find one.

Coins basically depends on what you are doing, if you are holding long term I would say Bitcoin is the best.
No doubt that Bitcoin is the best for the long term. The meme coins that everyone is pumping right now are good for the short term and the hype will be gone too soon if they don't take advantage of that moment when they see that it's profitable. While for Bitcoin holders, we're all chill, no rushing as we know that we're going to get to the peak as the time passes by and the whole world is looking at it as if it's the gold standard of the entire crypto market.

BTC can't do 100x or 1000x anymore.

ALT can. But which one?  Grin
actually, the system is not like that. maybe bitcoin can make big profits, but based on my experience, it takes a little longer.
lol Bitcoin can still make x100 or 1000? do you understand what you are posting here? your experience from where? which year? because if you have not check the market ,bitcoin price rose up to 73 thousand dollars so try to multiply that to at least x100 ? know what is the price?that is 7 million dollars so what more if w are talking x1000?

Quote
Why do altcoins still exist today, because altcoins also have the potential to make big profits, and the price is cheaper. Altcoins are very suitable for people who have small capital and want to make short-term profits. I think each coin or token will have its own advantages, only the best is bitcoin.
so what is the answer to the question?

Coins basically depends on what you are doing, if you are holding long term I would say Bitcoin is the best. And Bitcoin is better in all aspects because it has remained faithfully in the market for a long time. Thousands of investors have made huge money by investing in this Bitcoin. But you will invest in altcoin it is definitely risky because thousands of investors have lost huge money from it. So I think Bitcoin is the safest, long term holding will surely give it benefits.

The reason why one should go for Bitcoin is that we have seen over the period of time that it's best long term investment. While Bitcoin is standing firmly on it's own, the alts are entering and exiting the crypto market. There is no guarantee about future of alts, we have seen so many alts emerging with huge claims and after raising funds they are lost in darkness due to different reason. Having said that IMO Bitcoin is for long term and if you have spare cash that you can afford to lose then go for alts for short term investment.

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t invest in other altcoins but only the top ones. I was only talking about different levels of risk. If you have the money and you are willing to take such a risk, then go on with it. I was only emphasizing that it’s more risky when you’ve left Bitcoin and the top altcoins.
I agree if it is better to invest in top altcoins only. Moreover if we don't have good ability in analysis, it is better to choose safe altcoins. It is true that top altcoins also have the risks but it must be lower than random altcoins. New altcoins, shitcoins, and meme coins are the riskiest altcoins. We are better to avoid these type of altcoins if we are not experienced enough.

~~~
It seems you do not entirely get me. I am not saying we should avoid these altcoins that are risky. I’m only saying it as a reminder. If you have the money to risk, that’s totally fine. In as much as experience has a role to play, our experience can’t tell any outcome so it’s all risk anyway, and should be done by those who can afford the loss.
We should stay away from any crypto project we don't know, as been said already, bitcoin is the coin one should first consider before thinking on going for any other
True, Bitcoin should the priority. But it doesn't mean we must feel afraid on crypto projects. There are still some crypto projects that can be successful although many of them are just shit projects.
By the way, if there is still a lot money in our pocket, it is much better to buy in Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the most recommended coin for investment, both for a short and long term holding. Even top companies in the world, they choose Bitcoin as their investment.
If  you don’t want to risk too much then Bitcoin is the best to invest in. But if you’re willing to take on more risk, you can look into altcoins. It also depends on what altcoin. The ones at the top (Ethereum, BNB, etc) aren’t that risky and will most likely give you positive returns if you are patient. If you go outside the top altcoins, you’re going into even more risk. So it all depends on how far you’re willing to risk.
Yes you are right altcoins are more risky, but investing in bitcoins is much less risky. Those who plan to make new investments decide to invest in altcoins to get huge profits. Finally they lose money by investing in different altcoins without properly analyzing the market. You are right about this, that among altcoins Ethereum BNB SOL MATIC such coins are not very risky. So don't invest in different altcoins, invest in few top altcoins along with Bitcoin.
As of then bitcoin was also good but Ethereum was the preferable one to invest because as of December 2022 Ethereum was $1+k and bitcoin was about $25+k to $30k. So if you planning to invest it would have been better for Ethereum. And even now you can invest that amount in Ethereum but the only disadvantage of Ethereum investment is that the congested because of traffic in the network.  And whenever you or anyone is planning to invest in any project make sure the person is doing something to avoid untimely sell or withdrawal of founds.
The $800 can't be invested in the two projects so you have to invest. And I would recommended Solana but it network is also congested and you interested for a long term investment then you can invest in Eloncoin and Ethereum.
Bitcoin price increases the most so Bitcoin is suitable to invest in, I will definitely recommend any investor to invest in Bitcoin. But if you invest in Altcoin then I will never tell you about investment. Because investing in Altcoins is definitely high risk.  Altcoins are never compared to Bitcoin.
but they can both invest Bitcoin and altcoin that we called diversification\
If you are going into long term hodling, I will advise you to make BTC your choice because it always bring huge amount of profits at the end but if you are going into short term hodling, I will advise you to make altcoins your choice because it will allow you to earn little profits from your hodling.
Ethereum is also good for long term mate but it is altcoin , this means one thing that we need to only trust what coin to put our investments and if its long term and short term.
Quote
Since the capital you are budgeting for the investment is not too big, you can invest it on BTC only since BTC still remain the king among other cryptocurrencies and it will help you to make double profits from your investment, if you can wait for the bull run to occur before you can sell.
this kind of question sometimes depending in the target and the belief of the investor because they can buy bitcoin for long term , or they can invest in altcoins those who are super cheap but has huge potential like AI projects.
Bitcoin is the only coin I can advice anyone to invest in because investing in Bitcoin their is a good profit and it is reliable to hodl compare to altcoins .altcoins are risky to invest though their are some altcoins that are profitable but very hard to predict if it will bring profit or not. The risk in investing in altcoins is very high, anyone that wants to invest in cryptocurrency I think going for bitcoin as the first choice is better , bitcoin is more reliable than other altcoins.
If you want to invest, you should definitely invest on Bitcoin as a trusted coin. Because no other coin compares to Bitcoin, Bitcoin is the king of all coins. That's why investing in Bitcoin should be done safely, because the risk is very low. Because it has survived faithfully in the market for a long time but I have seen thousands of Altcoins destroyed from the market. This is why I like Bitcoin the most.
Yes it would be best to invest in Bitcoin. Investing in Bitcoin requires you to have the ability to hold for a long time. If you can hold for a long time then investing in Bitcoin can also earn you a lot of profit. However, among the altcoins, Ethereum (ETH) is the most trusted coin. In my opinion $800 dollars, 60% in bitcoin and 30% in ethereum and 10% in other coins would be better. However, as a beginner it is best to invest in full amount of Bitcoins.
I agree. Bitcoin is the top choice and less risky to invest in compared to altcoins, therefore good for newbies in crypto. But it doesn't mean alts are not profitable, because there are established ones that are worthy to hold next to Bitcoin. It's just that by choosing alts, we need to do an extensive research in order to find the right one that won't likely turn to shitcoin as time goes by.
Nevertheless, for beginners it's crucial to always DYOR before investing. Take time to gain knowledge so you know what you're doing and not just buying any coins just because that's the current hype.
Bitcoin maximalists are like old dinosaurs from traditional finances. They came early and got a lot of BTC sitting in their wallets. They are overinvested and don't want the status quo to change. This is why they shill BTC as the mother of all investments, safe heaven, digital gold, etc.. Don't let them fool you, it is all pure bullshit. Don't you believe me? Think twice, then look how did BTC dropped a 65% on 13th MArch 2021 with covid outbreak. Is that an asset worth to be considered solid? No way
On the other side, in terms of profits, there is 0 room for discussion. You need another trillion dollars to flow into BTC in order to make a 2x. Wait until halving's rethoric, blablabla is over. As usual, money will start flowing from bitcoin to alts, you need just a few millions to help skyrocket a low marketcap altcoin straight to MArs. 2x, 10x ,100X (With top alts your chances of huge returns are lower but also the risk). EVen if you pour a little bit of money here and there, you will still outperform by far any other portfolio that holds just Bitcoin. I challenge any Bitcoin maximalist to prove I am wrong. We can just set an amount, I will allocate that to a portfolio holding multiple alts (20 for example) and check in  a year from now.
