Many newbies don't consider the power of BTC for what you described - you can rest assured knowing that your investment won't be in vain for the years to come.
Newbies need to hear a lot from the ones that did a lot of mistakes in the past and also to the one that have profited from holding BTC and are still holding in the present. Because hearing mistakes of the others will direct them to doing the right decisions of investing in the market and that's through holding BTC first. Everyone is free to hold any altcoin that they want but hoping that these guys won't commit the same mistake as I did in the past for selling too early.

You are right about it being a good choice to take, but more analysis is needed for a newbie to understand why it's good for him.
Always apply the DYOR that we're telling them and they'll be able to have a conclusion why holding BTC is for their good before jumping and diversifying into another altcoin.

I recently made some money through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, and I'm considering using it to purchase some Bitcoin. Only a tiny sum, roughly $800, is involved. What do you suggest doing right now? Purchase some Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency with a promising future.

What replacement coins would you recommend?
If you have 800 dollars and you want to invest that 800 dollars then I always recommend you to invest in the best coins in the market.  I will never advise you to invest in bad coins.  Especially I will suggest you to invest only in Bitcoin because Bitcoin investment is the best coin among all investments.  But you have to invest and hold, you can't rush, if you rush, you won't be able to get good returns from your investment.

I do agree that BTC would be the most stable investment, however, it doesn't end there - it's great to have both it and alts in your portfolio, something around 70 to 30 in terms of %, in my opinion.

If you are a first-time investor, you should definitely invest more in Bitcoin, because a new investor is more likely to make losses if he starts holding Altcoins directly. That's why you should approach investing by gaining experience on cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin. But Bitcoin has a very low chance of loss if he invests so it is best for a novice investor to invest in Bitcoin.

If you are planning to buy Bitcoin with your $800 then your plan is correct. But later if you earn more you can invest altcoin with that earnings. Bitcoin is the best investment coin. By investing in Bitcoin you can always be worry free. But always remember to stay away from buying shitcoin because shitcoin can die anytime.

It's a risk-reward ratio that changes our decision-making on different coins, you are totally right.
Making BTC a big part of your portfolio is a great start, but afterward - you are free to do whatever you want. You are in charge from the start, really, but accumulating some BTC will make you a pillow of safety for the time to come, sorta.

If you invest in Bitcoin and hold it for the long term, you are guaranteed to get a guaranteed profit.
But if you are holding only altcoin investment and not bitcoin investment then your profit may or may not be guaranteed.
So before investing in altcoins, you must do your due diligence and make your own investment decisions.

BTC and altcoin are good investment, you can invest your money and you will not regret investing in such amount of money because you will gain something from the two coins, but if you want to make big profit, make BTC your choice because it will boost you profits. Just make BTC your real investment and make altcoin your alternative investment and you will live well with your investment because BTC and altcoin don't use to pump the same time.

You can sell your altcoins to solve some problems that will come your way, and continue to hodl your BTC if you are capable to invest in BTC and altcoin because the two investment are profitable.

Sounds reasonable. The bigger half of the portfolio for BTC, other - for alts. Efficient and simple.

My advice is to choose several altcoins that have a low value at the moment rather than buying bitcoin which is too expensive, several other altcoins that are promising substitutes for BTC are Ethereum and the other top 3 altcoins are very promising. Many are doubtful about what is recommended on altcoins that promise long-term investment but this time I also defend some of the top altcoins.

I would combine two parts of your suggestions into one portfolio: even with fewer funds in each of the coins, a diversified portfolio, for me, is better in the long run.
No matter how stable BTC is and how much potential some alts have, it's great to have both from two worlds Grin

But Bitcoin investing is much safer, since we invest with small amounts, investing small amounts in different places will give the best results.  But no matter where you invest, it's a must to have a Bitcoin investment, because investing in Bitcoin can't fail.  Success will come back to you and you can reap massive benefits, that's why I trust Bitcoin.

You are right, but not many out there can accumulate much BTC for such benefits, whereas with alts - you may have bigger chances. But we need to mention bigger risks, of course Grin Especially if we are talking about the new ones.

There is no way to compare Bitcoin to Altcoins. Bitcoin is to be considered one of the most authentic coins in the crypto market in every aspect. History is a witness that since the beginning, Bitcoin has proved that it follows the bullish moment, so Bitcoin has been and will remain the number one coin of the market from the beginning. It has never happened that Bitcoin has been number two; it has always been number one, whether it is price or M.cap Volume etc. It has always excelled in every aspect as compared to the rest of the coin. Even Etherum could not compete with Bitcion.

Actually, if we compare it with a percentage, Bitcoin has much more potential with a relatively very high number, and so far Bitcoin's advantages are much different from several other Altcoins, let's say like Ethereum, Ethereum is a very good coin and has quite good potential, but Ethereum also follows the pattern that occurs from Bitcoin itself, Bitcoin is a fairly effective investment asset to have.

If you like BNB Coin as a pledge currency, then keep Bitcoin on your chest. Because Bitcoin exists today, other Altcoins survive in the market. As you continue to see bitcoin price drop it recovers straight away, the last dumping in the bitcoin market was the $70k to $49k touch. But that Bitcoin touched again up to 62K then you notice that Bitcoin is definitely preferred as the best coin.  And other altcoins are in their rightful place, the general improvement has been slow, Bitcoin is the best.

BNB is indeed one of the best Top altcoins right now, but Bitcoin is much more attractive than some other Altcoins, BNB is one of the coin investments with a very good value, we recommend investing in BNB and we think this will make a profit, and Bitcoin should be your priority savings than some other coins, this can help your long-term investment.

So in such a way you need to divide your portfolio very well, because we know that crypto assets fluctuate greatly in price and are also very risky, so you really have to be able to manage your investment in assets like this, but overall bitcoin is the safest coin of all existing coins, if you want to take alternative coins then you have to divide the portfolio, For example, 80% bitcoin in your portfolio and the rest altcoins that you believe will give you profit, this is called investment management and risk management that you can tolerate, pay attention to the amount for your investment is much safer because not a few altcoins experience project failures and become worthless over time.

Agreed! BTC first, alts - alternatives. After all, diversification of the efforts, as well as the risks, are keys to success in the long run.

What I have learnt is that why people alternatively invest in altcoins is due to the potentiality they have to give out huge profit even with small capital invested which is true, only that the odds of losing ones money through altcoins are way high than making profit from it, reason why altcoin investment are  mostly referred to as another form of gambling. Unlike bitcoin with higher potential to make from it only that the price of a bitcoin is high that not many can afford buying 1btc so going for alt tokens with the hope of making great profit to later use in buying a larger portion of bitcoin to hodl as the reliable cryptocurrency has been the plan of some altcoins hunters.

Quote

When you say BTC and altcoins investment are both profitable you should have also drawn out their risk   differentiation to put an intending newbie investor in the know when making a choice to go for bitcoin or altcoins because some may assume that the volatility risk for both as same.

I agree. It's just safer in the long run, even with the possibilities in alts, if a person has the funds to spare, it would be wise to use them for BTC accumulation (using DCA, preferably). No storm would break the trust in it.

If you want to do DCA in Bitcoin then you can definitely take help from this topic. Because all kinds of discussions on how to do DCA in Bitcoin are done in this topic, you will definitely get the right advice from here.
