I think it is very difficult to predict which coin is better in this year. So I'm choosing both of them: 50% BTC and 50% Ethereum.
I'm only going with BTC now and forever, BTC is the only coin which goes at higher rate. Now BTC is launching US very soon which more happier news for me. Nobody can beat BTC in this race. This coin is trend now and very soon BTC became a brand.
I believe that as two grow, an ETH has a lot of room for growth and accreditation this year and it will take off, the BTC will continue to grow to be the most expensive currency at the moment
I think BTC will still be on top in 2018 but i also think that ETH will rise to maybe 2k or 2.5k by the end of 2018
Eth must grow anyway. It can replace Btc at pos №1 by end of year
I think the two coins have a very good value in the world of cryptocurrency, but there is still some irregularities in the regulation of the government that create panic for the community and make the value of bitcoin down very drastically for now. but I still can not predict how the next bitcoin develops. maybe eth will have more interest this year.
Once everyone will use Lighting network on BTC I think BTC will be dominant still.
Also what do people buy when they enter to the crypto world? - BTC !!

I would like Ethereum. Ethereums market is now very popular, Bitcoin and Best, but for the present, Ethereum is going to be the next BTC, it will grow a times faster than in 2018. Ethereum will follow the next crypto world.
Both are the best coin among the other coins, I think ETH will continue to grow and shine, the demand is also more and more, but bitcoin will remain the first and continue to be the best coin in 2018.
That is a fact, both can be consider as the best because both have good potential and looking good future, but if we compare the two then we will surely select bitcoin as bitcoin price is really expected to increase too much in next few months, i think those people who will hold their bitcoin for next few months hopefully they will turn their investment double in few months. 
I prefer to have both Bitcoin and Ethereum. Bitcoin is a gold standard in crypto. It will be in price anyway.
In turn Ethereum shows stable growth for a long time. I hope they both will solve problems with scalability, and increase transaction speed, then price will reach new level.

You should not compare this two types of coin because they are not the same. Altcoins has obviously slower growth than bitcoins so definitely, bitcoins is more profitable, but still it will depend on your capital on where you are going to invest, just always remember that the profit you will earn will be depending on the amount of your capital.
Ethereum currently has a high price movement and is very fast. but bitcoin becomes one of the coins in cryptocurrency which has the most expensive price. I think both eth and btc coins have good potential in 2018. 
Each one will rule on it's own way. what is important is which is will give you more ROI at the end of the year. Last year eth did that and will still do that again this year.

Bitcoin will always be known as top crypto with high marketcap.
Ethereum might still hold second position but there are many other alts which are pumping hard and new money are pouring into them, so ETH can also loss its postion.
Definitely price of both bitcoin and ETH will surge in 2018 specially after all this corrections we have at early of year.

I personally believe that 2018 will be the year of Ethereum. We are waiting for the big rocket, and I think will be 1 ETH=1 BTC. IMHO
i think it not gonna happen since bitcoin is truly the mother coin and also many users used bitcoin in their transactions and many still investing in bitcoin . Also 1 year frame is too short for the eth to reach the amount of bitcoin today and if its gonna happen bitcoin price also pulling away from eth also , so no chance for the both of coin to equalized their value .
Of course still BTC even if after 5 or 10 years still BTC is the KING but it's not mean ETH will not rise. ETH will rise up to x10 of it's current price right now. But don't forget that ETH still an altcoin and all of them respect BTC that's why if BTC tells them to come down they all come down.
