I don't believe it ,Vitalik Buterin is a cryptogenious,an cryptoidol as Satoshi Nakamoto and Etherium is the biggest competitor for bitcoin.His leaving can hit etherium very badly and investors won't be happy with it.

I think that this news in general is a fake, because it is old and Buterin still works as a developer of this project. Therefore, it seems to me that all this in general does not make sense.

I doubt that it will kill the project though, it has already established as one of the superior and trusted coin, might suffer another downfall once he leave but it won't die though. There are a lot of developers willing to take over and could be the next face of the project, not be as charismatic as Vitalik though, but the project will lives on.
He want to build a legacy in the crypto space that's why he will continue to face this challenge and will continue to develop ETH to be successful.
