Which is more risky buying a token from the ICO or in trading?

It's like asking, which is more risky, drinking water from glass or drinking water from a bottle ? If you are not smart there is no difference, you will find a way to hurt yourself.

Same with ICO and trading, your experience and decision will be the risk factor.

Which is more risky buying a token from the ICO or in trading?

If you catch a really good ICO, lets say ICON or Dragonchain, you are going to make many more times your money compared to an alt trade.

ICO is much risky than trading, because in ICO, you will wait for how many months before the coin will come to your hands. In trading, you are the on who managing it, after you bought the coin in the market, your coin is in your wallet instant. But if you want to get much lower price of coin, go for ICO.

Both are profitable if you choose carefully the projects, and if you have good knowledge about trading. But both of them involve some risks as well. Investing in ICO projects is more long term, while trading altcoins can give you short and long term profits. I prefer doing both but I take my time studying carefully the projects before investing.
I agree to this but it is very difficult to decide whether the ICO is going to flourish in the future or not. In the beginning, they all look like profit promising but they fail or turn out to be a scam. I find it easier to invest or trade some altcoins that have a good name in the world of digital currencies and can be trusted with our money. We have a good number of options. Ethereum is my top priority but bitcoin stands above it.

In your case, if you want to invest long-term trade altcoins or Bitcoin, the profit may not be substantial but in the long term will be very good. If you're going to make a profit in the short time, you should research about the ICO and buy the Token during the private sale period; there is a chance of x10 money invested as soon as the Token is indexed on the exchange floor.

In the case of trading, when the price of coin is very low, buy it, if you increase the value then sell it.Risk in trading is low,

Are you having a joke? Risk in trading is low? What?

Warning: This person has never traded.

I think the risk of buying a coin from Ico is more risk. Because when ico is over, the currency will enter the market, then price may be much lower than ico. Which is very harmful for you.In the case of trading, when the price of coin is very low, buy it, if you increase the value then sell it.Risk in trading is low, but there is more risk in case of buy coin than ico.

This depends on your knowledge on how the ico and altcoins market work! Many traders and investors has made serious money trading altcoins and some have also make money through ico. I think you should study your emotional habits and reactions on how the two works and stay with it. For me I have lose money investing in ico and I have never lose money in it. That do not mean altcoins are better than icos but I was not lucky in it.

Buying from ICO will give yo profit already when the token is listed on exchanges right after the ICO ends. 35% bonus upon buying on ICO could be a huge project depending to the amount you have investment. The risk however is if the ICO turn out to be a scam just as how the rest were and this is the advantage of just trading altcoins on exchanges, you can never be scammed after all the coins are listed,  you can dump whenever you want.

No one knows about the future but both are risky if someone can't keep his patience. Crypto is the place of patience so hold strongly. ICO investment is little more risky than trading. Because lot's of ICO just disappear after complete sellout. so check expert guideline & understand the concept is the technology need for real-world use.

It depens. On ICO/ITO you can buy Coins and Tokens very cheap, most in case at the cheapest points. If theres a good project behind this coin, the value will rise after listing on exchange. But sometimes the project need some time to run, so in this case it can happen, that the coin is cheaper on exchange then on the ICO. So sometimes buying the coins/token after the ico is cheaper than before.

I think its much more riskier if you buy coins from ICO because it is still new and unsure if it will be successful or not. Although some would say they would return the amount if the project is unsuccessful but still; the coins you buy from ICO's does not have any assurance that it will be listed on the exchanges too. So for me, trading would be less riskier than buying from ICO's.
There will be a question there why wpuld you invest into an ICO without knowing that it will become unsuccessful. I know everyone doesn't know if an ico will become successful or not. When you invest you believe in that ICO, i invest it depends conversly i much like after it hits the exchange and buy when its dip.

ICO and trading can bring very high profits but it is also risky. In my opinion, ICO is more risky than trading. For the ICO, if you don't find out about the project you will not be able to determine how well it is going to develop, and then you are completely passive. In business there are also some risks, if you choose the wrong time you will also lose, but if you have experience you will get more accurate decisions.
I think specific in the case of ico's there are alot of potential ico comes in 2018. There are many high potential ICOs, you may consider investing in some potential ICOs such as ArcBlock, Credit, Ankorus. These are the ICOs I am involved in the bounty campaign and see very potential. It is forecasted that the next four months the exchange rate will increase rapidly.

Which is more risky buying a token from the ICO or in trading?
Firstly,  you need to understand that the crypto business is a risky business because it comes with great oppw and for very great opportunity comes with great risk. Meanwhile,  altcoin trading is more risky than buying ICO but,  only if you know the things to watchout for before investing into an ICO and it also a vice versa situation in some cases.

Buying icos and trading is for me somehow the same because after you buy tokens from icos i am sure that you will just sell it again if the price goes up and will result as a buy and sell process. And trading is also biying some coins in a lower price and after that you will sell it in a higher price when it pumps. So from me you can do them both if you have a much bigger capital. But i am advising you to join in a bounty campaign icos that will gave you bounty rewards after the campaign ends and then sell it. It is more profitable for me.

Which is more risky buying a token from the ICO or in trading?

ICO is much more riskier than trading altcoin, because you don't know what will happen to the token once it is listed. On the other hand, if the altcoin is already listed in some exchange, then you can have a vague idea about its user-base, volatility, trading volumes and resistance / support levels.
though ico offers more profit than trading,if you can analyze the ico according to the project and team behind the ico,we'll probably i suggest he must join them and put the funds you have no obligation just to wait until its done, while in trading you can see your funds moving either ups or down, but risky when the coin just drop badly and didnt recover
