Old coins are no longer as valuable as new ones. Some old coins, such as Ethereum, BNB, Doge, and XRP, are still valuable because they are active and people are receiving updates and news about them. Other old coins, on the other hand, have become inactive, which is why no one is investing in them and they are no longer valuable.

The Crypto market is progressing rapidly so people are not investing in old coins that are not active. The old coins which are still active like, doge, LTC, BTC, BNB, and Ethereum. People are still investing in these coins because they are still famous and there has been also many new and good projects come. So mostly users are investing in new, active and legit projects, like ADA, Matic and ARPA. I hope you will choose good coins for investments.

everyone has their own crypto strategy, however i would not buy old coins even if they seem promising and more or less stable but i would focus on new projects that could bring big gains more easily

old coins sometimes don't last long in the crypto industry but not all of them. basically Cryptocurrency is related to updates and trends, so IMHO, any projects and companies that follow the two things mentioned, they will be acceptable to the audience. it's currently 2021 and it's a shame that old coins like the OP said: peercoin, quark & primecoin are not evolving well.

If The Project is strong then its buying is worthy.Bad projects have already get out from Market. Although some projects had gave profit in past few years  but now there are no where in the market because they were not strong based. They are replaced by some strong projects having good market cap.
It's obvious because the weak will always be oppressed by the strong in terms of market competition, so in general good projects will always win in this case so they will always appear more in the market because they have more power through community and others.

They pay according to their work, they can't be forced to pay more, if investors start to like a lot the payment will automatically increase, I agree with what you say.
Obviously it's very true, so it must be approved because of several successful projects in the last year and this year, they all use the concept of DeFi and NFT to attract investors' interest and it turns out that the strategy is very successful.

In my opinion, if the old coin is from an ICO project, then it is not worth buying and keeping for the long term. Many coins from ICO projects do not survive and are of no value in the long term because they do not have strong fundamentals. Some even went missing on the exchange after a few months.

it doesnt matter about from ICO or not , but we talk about project quality . Is it continuely build the thing in their roadmap or not, if they did it and then check gain its progress. This what we are talking about while analizing project , no matter if come from ICO , IEO or even IDO.

in my view the current altcoins are the ones that have good popularity will be the best. Examples such as Dogecoin have recently been named to become popular among cryptocurrencies and made the price of Dogecoin increase by ElonMusk (Tesla CEO). so now altcoins have their own era. so new and old altcoins have no effect on altcoin enthusiasts. because popularity can provide greater benefits.
doge coin get new investors or new community member since elon musk shill it. And actually doge holders was a fanatic man , the hold it for long term since price below $0,1  Doge come to new era which is utility was not needed .

Yes, some old coins are now shining again, only some of them are listed on the market such as uniswap, to buy old coins and will keep them in the long term we need to re-analyze that to revive old altcoins is very difficult, maybe a big influence that is happening at this time with many emerging new altcoins with advantages

With all of the hype surrounding "De-Fi" and NFTs, it looks like old coins like Peercoin, Primecoin, and Quark have been left in the dust. This is sad, considering that the aforementioned coins have a proven track record of stability and reliability. New coins are usually less secure than old ones. Despite the low interest/demand for old coins, they're still actively traded on the market.

I'm wondering whenever it's worth buying and holding old coins for the long term. Primecoin is one of its kind with a PoW algorithm that contributes towards the discovery of prime numbers. It's a pity other crypto projects haven't copied its model. Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
As the day goes by the crypto space grows and advance to new and better level. NFTs and DeFi own the market right now without no doubt. The year 2021 is full of much NFT cause that's what's on the trend right now and other crypto devs will always want to follow the trend.. And here you said " New coins are usually less secure" is literally wrong if it was to be an AMA would have pumped you with some questions but too bad it's not so I'll just put it straight. They are many new coins out there that are doing really great and secured e.g NEAR etc. You just need to DYOR and get involved with the decentralized world.

I think if you have a plan to buy old coins I prefer to buy coins that really have good potential such as Doge, Litecoin or Dash for example. In my opinion, these three coins still have the potential to provide profits in the future.

I agree with you, especially if we talk about DASH...I believe this coin will hit its ATH once again or at least a half, 700 or 800$ will not be a hard think for dash

I also regularly monitor the old coins on the Coinmarketcap list, and I am looking forward to investing in them. But unfortunately the developer has abandoned the coin, so there is no progress whatsoever. Only a few exchanges have listed the coin, so we can't move to an exchange that we use frequently.

You do not  just buy old coins because they have succeeded in the past. There are a lot of old coins that succeeded but are now stagnant because the team have abandoned the project. Try to research coins that the team are actively updating and innovating. It's not all old coins that are worth buying.

I am not a fan of old coins especially those with low volume, I never mind thinking to invest to that kind of coins as I think they are not profitable enough, I am into new coins as those new coins can gve us x1000 in the long run. There are so many new coins now adays specially the NFT some are good to invest and some are not just careful about choosing the good coins.

Old coins are still worth to hold but should be in the top coins in the market like bitcoin and ethereum. There are many old coins but few were not really improving, it's better in the top coins because those are still popular and it can make a new ATH in the future.

Yes, holding the top coins in the Crypto market, the opportunity to reach new ATH is still wide open, indeed BTC and ETH are the most decent old coins, besides the popularity that is currently not reduced, the market capitalist is also large.

Still you can't ignore a lot of old altcoins those are strong fundamental. And also team's are so active to upgrade with new technology. Without a few coins mostly oldest coins will not up and down like new coins, So investors are desperately going to pick new ido, launched projects to make profit 5x,10x like that.

Not all old coins are worth to buy as some of it are as good as dead in my opinion. If you really want to buy old coins, prefer buying those old coins that are trendy which cause many people to buy but most of the coins trends didn't last very long but still many people use. If you don't like the old coins anymore why not buy eth or btc if you can't decide which coins to buy.

Many old coin left by their owner and is not good for investing because without any new development from the owner impossible old coin can be success and back to higher price, but you can invest with old coin if exist update every new partner by the owner, give many offer for investor and make many new schedule to make price up, most important want get new partner and support their coin keep raise up.

These coins are either dead or defunct. And in the cryptocurrency sector, it is very rare to see coins that have been dead for so many years being revived. The promoters of these coins have moved on to other projects, and other developers are not interested in them because there is no premine advantage for them. In short, it is not like investing in stocks that have fallen by 99%. With stocks, you can say that there is still a 1% chance of getting revived. But with dead coins, the chance is like 0.00001%.

It's fair argument. Most of the old coins tend to become abandoned by developers as they move onto the next big thing in crypto. Nowadays, it's all about "De-Fi" and NFTs while old coins are being left behind in the dust. The only exception would be old coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Dogecoin. These coins will survive in the long run while the rest will go down the drain. I'd suggest anyone to put most of their money into new coins, while putting the rest into prominent old coins on the market. That way you'd minimize risks as much as possible. New coins are highly profitable in the short term, but most of them usually disappear over time. Only a few manage to survive because of their communities supporting them every way. What's important is Blockchain technology above all else. As long as Blockchain is alive, nothing else matters. Just my thoughts Grin

Seeing the movement of old coins that are open to the top 100 coinmarkets is difficult, but old coins that are still worth investing in I think DOGE, LTC, XLM, ADA.
but it all depends on how you see the future. As far as I'm concerned, for now to many new coin and now  how to  strong they are in the crypto market and how strong their appeal to investors is. and how strong they are in innovating and marketing their projects
