While there can access the internet, I think it can. Well, bitcoin connected with internet connection, so when he connect to the internet, even though he is in space, I am sure he can still mine, or find if he wants it

But I think that would be difficult to  do, unless like what you said if there is internet that can be use. But I really doubt on it, and Why are they're gonna do it? Besides, if your in the outer space its been years before you comeback on earth.

Bitcoin could be used everywhere wher you have Internet and network connection. But.I'm not sure there is Internet connection out in the space. This the question for astronauts. But at the moment I don't even see the reasons why should Bitcoins be used in space except as an experiment.

Outerspace doesn't exist. We've been lied to. Do some research. It's 2017. 500 year old lies are being exposed.

I never thought about it :p I don't think we have much technology to do that, maybe there is and we don't know about it, how knows? :p

BItcoins cant be used in space and astraunauts cant even travel the entire solar system. The more you go away from the technology it is more possible that the transactions would not be even happen as it needs internet to send.

Just curious, since the Internet is mostly an Earthly thing... would astronauts be able to access and transfer their Bitcoins whilst traveling throughout the solar system?
In order to use Bitcoin all you need an internet connection and an electronic. So this question should probably be rephrased to “can astronauts get an internet connection while in space.”

it's possible to have access to internet with another planet, very easy to do just use satellite communication, do it via google satellite, if you can establish a connection indeed you can run bitcoin, no matter where you are, i think bitcoin can see i great use for this distant future in space

As there's no internet connection in the outer space (i don't mean next to satellites) it would be needed a blockchain based on radio signals, that uses a very little amount of power and is capable of leading information very far through galaxy.
I think that , as soon as NASA gets into crypto, blockchains, etc. , they would certainly start investigating this kind of thing.

As long as there is an internet access and a device so you can browse it then you can. Though there is not that too much to buy in the space since mostly as we know it is on earth that everything we need is.

It all depend on the technology of bitcoin if the technology will be available on space then there is no doubt that bitcoin will also be available on space but first thing is that we first do not need money on space but first we need people on space and then there demands and the availability of products. Then people will need money to buy these products.

Bitcoin works in a wireless environment since it is using the internet as its vector of communication. This implies that we can send bitcoin to space since we can transmit internet signals in space since the satellite is present in there. Thus it is very feasible to do bitcoin business in space and possibly in the far future we can do business on other planets such as mars.

Yes, since astronauts have access to the internet in the space, they can use bitcoin. However, the real question is, why would they do that? Bitcoin is a payment system and since there is no merchant in the space as of now to provide some goods or service against bitcoin payment, there is no use of bitcoin as of now.

But when there is a will, there is a way. I hope we will be able to buy pizza on the moon by offering payment in bitcoin before 2030.

Domino's plans first pizza restaurant on Moon.

In that case, we can proudly say that bitcoin is a universal currency  Wink

Well perhaps in a far far future, when humanity will spread among the galaxy (perhaps meeting another civilizations too =) they will need something like cryptocurrency.
So Bitcoin (or another) will be used in space for trading. And there is no technology borders to do that, when every planet is a part of intergalaxy Inthernet=)

If people can live in space then they will need to transact with one and another. To do this effectively they will need a generally accepted currency to make transactions seamless so if they agreed that they want to go the way of bitcoin, then they have the to put the infrastructure in place among which the access to internet is key. The moment they do that then they can spend bitcoin and if they decide they want to use the physical coin, then so be it.

I found in net that astronauts could use internet and hence they could use bitcoins. But what the problem is that internet connection will be very slow in space.Already we suffer due to slow bitcoin transactions. So in space,it would be very slow for transactions to get confirmed.

Ever wondered how do those that work in the international space agency communicate and work up there in space? Or how does robots and satellites sent into space are controlled from here and sends information back to earth? It's networking and internet can be accessed wherever it is networked to function and so we can use Bitcoin in space if we are able to access internet in space by providing an internet network.

We can surely done something like this, and I think something like this is really possible, the work of satellites and space station are just like that it connects people from space and earth, but why would you OP really curious about this things? even though you can access bitcoin in space? it can surely not a guaranteed gonna work out in space!

Just curious, since the Internet is mostly an Earthly thing... would astronauts be able to access and transfer their Bitcoins whilst traveling throughout the solar system?

if our internet services could reach the outer points of our galaxy it would be amazingly interesting. like whats next? bitcoin value skyrockets because unknown froms of life calling themselves beeklooochtinpetoshi kind are joining the bitcoin network with 23 million new sign ups a day to buy bondage porn vids and tentacle hentai and also trying to figure out at the same exact time what the definition of blue waffle is? Cheesy

But on a more serious level that would take a technology that i don’t think mankind currently has. Both referring to having astronauts actually traveling the solar system and also having our internet services reach that far out. I mean it doesn't make sense to use bitcoin in space when there is no internet, right? Just use cash instead

Actually, the internet isn't earthly...it's a spacely thing since the only way we can all be connected is through the use of satellites. Bitcoin can work anywhere one can connect to the network with their device. Low Earth Orbit is closer to bitcoin than from the grass on god's green earth.
