With 10 years of existence of bitcoin I think this is a proof that blockchain can succeed if given a chance by the government to be implemented. The problem I see is the volatility and manipulation of price which is not a healthy if not stable.The Blockchain has proven that data can be stored in a decentralized public ledger against any form of manipulation.

This is a very capable to generate future success Cryptocurrency and generate more profits continue to rise.
Cryptocurrency and blockchain is still young technology and still under development to increase the benefits, mass adoption of crypto is already started in crypto, we can see now many starts ups and big company use blockchain and cryptocurrency to increase their service and product. One thing that still become issue in crypto community is scalability of crypto, but this issue will be solved later. Crypto and blockchain will change the world and will minimize number of poor people in the world.
of course everything has a chance for success. especially for crypto, that the longer the more just devotees. and the longer I see also crypto is becoming increasingly popular, even many started to be applied in real life.
I am sure if almost the entire world uses crypto, then the future of crypto can be bright. the more people use, that means crypto already has confidence in many countries, if the crypto volume on the market gets bigger, it's a sign crypto has been successful 
what you mention is the superiority of Bitcoin, but you don't mention some of the weaknesses of bitcoin that hamper the process of implementing cryptocurrency en masse to be used as a common payment tool
