If you do not go to phishing sites, do not send anyone your private key and follow basic security measures, then no one will ever crack your e-wallet.

That is right. If you are just a little bit cautious and careful then nothing will happen eventually. Use strong antivirus program, never share your private key (even with your friends) and always make sure that url is myetherwallet.com and not something else.

Hi, i have backupped my pvkeys on an usb stick. I wrote it also down on a piece of paper. My computer broke. I put a metal pin through the harddrives. I will not buy a new pc soon. So i wont check in on myetherwallet for some time. I cant click on phishing links. My question is : are my funds safe? Can myetherwallet get hacked? Can my funds dissapear even when i have no computer, hid my keys? Im to stupid to work with a ledger or trezor. Can something happen to it like with the parity/kill?
Myetherwallet is not an exchange. In brief it is just an interface which helps you to access your wallet if you have the private key. Neither it has the wallet stored in its servers nor it has your private key stored in. So there is just no way that someone can enter into or hack into your MEW without your private key. You might even be very well aware of the fact that private keys are impossible to be cracked to b tension free nothing can happen to them.

Myetherwallet is safe because the site does not save any information, it's just a handy UI. The main thing is not to compromise your keys.  Smiley

Myetherwallet is safe and secure enough, but your can't say that about all your programs/apps. This is why hardware or desktop wallets are better, if you haven't hidden camera bellow your back)

My friend's MEW wallets were phished not once...

It's possible if you don't keep your private keys safe, nobody can access your myetherwallet unless they have private keys so if your private keys are with you then your funds are safe, even if you don't have a computer yet. You should understand that cryptocurrenciesBTC are online currencies that are not visible, so they can be stored in online networks, it isn't stored on your computer so that you can access them anywhere, anytime you have private keys.

Hackers have many ways to get a coin. All these paths lead through your computer, because myetherwallet is just an interface, the site does not store any data. Therefore, you need to install good antivirus software.

I do not think that the MyEtherWallet wallet can be hacked at all. This wallet is really simple and has no binding to anything and can be accessed from almost any device, which makes it very convenient. To work with him, it is enough to have the code of his secret key code. This key can not be hacked, it consists of many numbers of letters and it is unlikely that anyone will be able to find them. I think that the breaking of this wallet is connected solely with the fact that strangers have become aware of the secret key code.

In my opinion, the MyEtherWallet wallet is one of the best purses to store ether and tokens. He has a reliable secret cloak and if you exclude access to this key to unauthorized persons, the wallet will be safe.
Sometimes you have to see how in campaigns signatures are asked to change the address of the purse because of the fact that their old wallet is hacked. They do not indicate exactly how the purse was hacked, I think that most likely, for some reason an unknown key has become known to outsiders.

I fully agree! It is necessary to carefully check the website address and the letters that come to your email!there are so that phishing emails and links in them to malicious sites!we should always be very careful!

Nothing guarantees your funds if MEW is hacked. Even the MEW party also gives warning to its users that they do not guarantee the coins stored in the safe forever. You've done a wise move using a hard wallet because it will make it hard for hackers to steal your coins.
