Well, I was bored so here's the math.

The past 7 days (little over by a few hours, +~12).

140 posts, 20 unique users, average of 20 posts a day.

10 users posted 3 times or less.

Top 5 posters account for 95 of 140 posts, top 3 account for 72.

An entire new section is probably not needed yet.

@Xian01

It was an answered officially on the second page of this thread by Badbear.

Theymos and Badbear are the only ones that can create new sub-forums.

There is no need or enough unique use to warrant a new sub-forum.

The 20 or so individuals and their alts posting hundreds of pages in thread are fooling no one.

Who is actually in charge of creating a new sub ? Is that Theymos exclusively, or are other admins able to create new subs ?

The lack of a formal statement from management of these forums on this request is appalling.

Learning the troll avoidance button :)

And also a comparison to already existing language sub-forums (Hebrew, Croatian, Korean for instance)... These numbers alone don't mean squat. A comparison says it all. There is an obvious NEED for a Philippino sub-section...

Done Sub-Board Created !

Kind of tired of seeing this thread bumped up in Meta without testing if it will work or not so I put it up for a suggestion on Ver's site and got it approved the next day that should prove its need one way or the other if it makes a Bitcoin community move over to use it at least they can have a place to talk in until the forum here decides to make that subsection.

I don't believe in denial.
Reading through the thread and with consideration to other local boards and their overall activity, the merit of a sub-section seems reasonable to me.
That and this threads constant bumping one way or the other seems to signify a strong vocal demand for it.

The Croatian subforum also raises questions about the rationale to ignore this subsection, either way debating about it seems to be getting nowhere so either the forum is censoring languages and usage or they just don't have a qualified moderator interested in taking up the position which seems like a valid reason for a nomination process.

Badbears last updated statistics were from July so if he is bored a 4 month update would seem worth a look to provide better insight.

I think there are few filipinos here to have thier own sub. If there were a huge demand why not create a forum specifically for filipinos?

This may answer your question:

For the 100-th time (do you even read before reacting?!?): the Philippines topic has a lot BETTER numbers than a lot of other language sub-forums (Croatian just being ONE example, Hebrew another). So the numbers ("unique users" too) do NOT lie... There is a NEED. (<- period)

Also what the Pilipinos' want is to have their part in this forum and to to make their own. Indeed they can make their own forum but it is different from being a part of a successful community like what we have here in bitcointalk.

Still no Filipino sub ? I can only deduce that the administration of these forums is prejudiced against them.

If this keeps up, Leroy Fodor'z gonna start his very own CyberPinoyTa.lk to satisfy the demand. HAHAHA

I don't know that there is a kind of section in this forum.
All I can say is "WOW"!
This is the better way to how we can communicate to other people around the world using the different languages.

It has nothing to do with prejudice and every thing to do with lack of need.
Rather than continually spewing "We need a sub-forum"
Post the data to support it with a well outlined reason for need.

... what you're trying to do... I don't think it's working.

sadly nothing's been working on our side either..

Still no sub-forum.

Imagine that.

Show a need and you might get one. ***

Right now, there is no need.

Not enough unique users.

No, that's NOT our job, that's (useless) speculation. Our job is to show why there SHOULD be a sub-forum, the admins should/could give the reasons why not...

Leroy Fodor's a unique user residing in the Philippines where he for a while island hopped conducting free seminars to bring awareness to Bitcoin by teaching those in attendance how to go from amassing satoshis worth of bitcoins and altcoins via faucets, then purchase mining equipment with their newfound wealth to hopefully have a farm as large as his largest bitcoin mining farm in all the Philippines complete with solar power. Now, Leroy enjoys an over 900 membership base of his StakeMiners, administered from his office in the tallest building in Davao, Philippines, with his B.B.A. diploma from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, hanging squarely on the wall.

Are you sure, because I swear I read somewhere that his step daughter offered Leroy Fodor her last 29 pesos that she was saving to come to 'merica for his business.

Did I remember that right?

I am a filipino. Can you tell who is active and high ranked user that is active in the local board? Even Dabs isnt active right? I mostly see member and full members for almost 1week now, Sr members are less than 3 in all active users there. Im just saying the truth, no offence buddy. And yes it can be discussed later but you can understand the topics in the local thread (i wont tell here) do you honestly think that we deserve a subforum right now with those kind of posts? Again, im not agaisnt the subforum but lets see the reasons why they cant give it to us
The inactivity of the Pilipino high ranked members in our local board is not really a basis to say that indeed they are inactive in the forum mate. Some of them avoid to spend much time on the local board as you know the rules that once you had your account too involved in the local board, it's a low quality one. I believe that there are here in the forum and just roamig around. I do it often not to post and just read stuffs before so maybe they are doing the same.

then that only means that they dont deserve to me a MOD isnt it? they shouldnt care much about their posts quality (since you pointed this out) if they really care for our local thread so in short its a NO NO in that case Cheesy

let us use Dabs for example on that matter, he runs a gambling site here and a signature campaign in the past but during the time of the signature campaign he dont have much time to answer some queries so i guess its just a proof that he is busy in real life and for the others, we even created a list that run for about 1month now and they didnt even list their accounts right? and if you check the list you will notice what im saying Cheesy
