Celebrities backing new coins is certainly a great way of gaining huge traction. However, it's better for the industry to see more endorsements done by celebrities who are at least somewhat related to the products they are advertising.

This was not the case with Paris Hilton and Lydian Coin. It looked totally artificial.
On Sept. 3, Paris Hilton made a posting on her Instagram to her over 7 million followers saying she was "eager to join the new @LydianCoinLtd Token," noting in a hashtag: #ThisIsNotAnAd.
The statement, made by someone widely known, helped leverage the marketing of the initial crypto-currency offering (ICO) planned by Singapore-based LydianCoin Pte for a $ 100 million sale through not programmed.

In a matter of a year every celebrity will be backing a new ICO. Why wouldn't they when they can make millions to hundreds of thousands. I'd have to agree that it does turn me off from the project a bit. Instead of someone like Hilton or Wayweather promoting a coin Id much rather listen to someone like John Mcafee because he's actually got some brains, these celebs are pretty much idiots, Mayweather can't read and Hilton can't even solve a basic math equation.

Whats your take on celebrity endorsements with the crypto world? Do you think it actually helps? Question is how many fans actually know and care about crypto to actually invest??
It's alright, the only thing that you should watch out for is if and when they try to do a copyright claim on the project.

I think the attraction of a celebrity has an influence on the crypto world, on the grounds that many of them are famous and have fans.
they do not think that fans know about bitcoin
But they consider celebrity as a tool to promote as well as market strategy so that when ico run successful

Having a celebrity endorsing a product might be an effective way to get the ICO popular. It can be the strategy of the project to get lnown, or it was just something about the project that can be somehow related to her. It depends anyway.

If there will be a celebrity endorsing the crypto-currency, I prefer a well-respected celebrity to endorse the digital currency. It is a good help for crypto-currency to improve the image. A big NO for celebrities with a tax evasion record. Despite the fact that any kind of publicity good or bad still a publicity. Still a big NO for celebrities with tax evasion record, if ever they will endorse the crypto-currency.

It actually helps on spreading the awareness of crpytocurrency existence on which we do know those celebrities are famous and been known by lots of people which if they would able to endorsed some coins then for sure people will surely jump in with the trend which is also an advantage for those early investors who did able to put money on the project because we do know it would be already a success since the popularity is really high compared to those coins who arent endorsed by a famous celebrity.I dont know actually on its true usage because most of this coins are on hype side. Centra would be a good real life usage as far as i can see.

First, it's a sign that ICOs are raising too much money. Having celebrities like Mayweather promote your coin can't be cheap, so if companies are able to afford this, they've raised MUCH more than they need to actually launch their business.

It'll also catch the attention of regulators and put more pressure on them to regulate the market.

That is great because some of celebrity they know and they endorse crypto and we know that endorsement was a big help for us also why? Because we dont know if they use crypto world or bitcoin using for the advertisement so thats a big help for us also to earn coins so we hope that crypto currency was increasing.
Do you even realize that how many the developers pay the celebrities just for a single crap photo with a lot of the trolls in the comment? Such a crap for me and useless thing.
Just like how stox goes with its myweather promotion.

It's good that celebrities are promoting crypto. The more it becomes mainstream the more people will invest in crypto. I don't think celebrities will endorse a fraud scheme as their name will be taken down with it.

This is just a good indication that crypto currency is making some news that makes everyone turn their head when they heard it. And they are great platform to showcase to the world what this new thing can offer to us and also it can be big help to spread awareness and it's a good publicity.

Also don't forget The game (rapper) is promoting Paragon coin. I never heard about this coin till I read the news that he is promoting paragon ico.

Yes! I forgot about that. Wasn't a super model also involved with paragon?
The most famous of course when mike tyson introduces bitcoin masive to the public. I'm sure there are many people who are interested after seeing mike tyson doing promotion at that time. I did not know he(mike tyson) was paid or not lol. there are actually many celebrities in my country who also promote bitcoin or cryptocurrency

Seems like it would be a careful balance... Especially if the celeb has no idea what's going on and just wants to make $$$. Think of all the shi*t ICOs that would shell out a bit to create a bunch of hype for their coin. In all honesty I'd probably look into the coin that they're promoting if I like the celeb, but unless it was really good, I couldn't see myself using that as an avenue to find good coins. I'd use it as an avenue to find coins that have a lot of capital, but other than that... I can't think of anything. Plus it would have to be on some sort of platform, like ARK. They've got a product that I can imagine a techy celeb endorsing, but it'd still be the project that would win me over.

I guess in general it would be helpful. What this economy needs to stabilize is more people involved, so having celebrities promote it would get rid of some of the stigma that comes with being in this world. I'll be on the lookout for any celebs promoting coins, thanks.

That goes for all the celebrities, lol. I can guarantee that they all dump right after ICO to make that quick cash. I don't think Mayweather is still holding his Stox, he sold them the night of his fight when it reached $2.70 and made millions. Smart move actually since its 40 cents now, but I see the same trend towards any of these celebrity endorsed coins. Cobin Hood does look interesting though, a no fee exchange almost sounds to good to be true.
