Someone could also make one of those animated racing bars that most of us like to see.
That's actually a very good idea and something I would like to see as well. I don't know how to do it though (maybe its done in Powerpoint or similar tool?) so maybe @bitmover (iirc he was the one making them) could do it, if he can be bothered with it.

As you guys suggested, here is the Local Boards Post Race
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5432447.new#new

I am open for suggestions.

bitmover, you really did great job, thank you.
I watched your animation and really enjoyed it, it's much clearer and more transparent than ordinary statistical data in numbers.
Of course, I focused on my Croatian local board and it was really interesting how we rose and fell on the list of local boards over time  Grin
Can the animation be a little slower?
Anyway, thanks for a job well done!
It was really interesting to watch.

Awesome work, thank you!

Few notes:
-Can you also make it to show accumulative posts throughout the years, instead of showing each month separately?
-As other pointed out, Russian board has issue and that's because up until 2021 (more precisely from August 2021 overview ) I was using Merit Dashboard that calculates total amount of posts different way and can be affected by large amount of deleted posts like it is the case in Russian board. For that reason I switched to ninjastic.space that doesn't take into consideration deleted posts. Having said that, it would be good to use data from ninjatic.space only for these charts of yours.

I am sure that it took you some time to scrape all that data manually from my charts so thank you once again!

It doesn't have to be full comparison between different boards, but we could see dates of creation, activity and number of posts and merits for every year since creation of specific local board.
You can do whatever you think it's best, but if bitmover creates racing bars all that information would look much better.
Well, since I don't have that data any more than he does, its really up to him to make those racing bars. Thing with those bars is that it would look much better (I guess, bitmover knows more about it) if you use data for each month since creation of the board, instead just yearly values, but that would mean a lot work as some boards are more than 10 years old. Unfortunately, I don't have that amount of free time right now, to manually take all that data from ninjastic.space and merit dashboard.

You mean like total amount of posts created/merits shared since creation? I am not sure how that would look like since some local boards were created in 2010 while some in 2014 so it wouldn't really be fair comparison. Or you had something else in mind?
You know much better than me how this statistic stuff works Wink

I would love to make a racing of all local boards activity.
Awesome to hear that, thanks a lot!

Do you have this data in a .xlsx file @Rikaflip? Or a csv? I would love if you can share with me the number of posts and the merits of each month/day . It would save me a lot of time scraping this topic.
No need to scrape this topic, I will send you .csv files in about ~2 weeks as I have to wait until January 6th for December merit data to have a full year.

Just a quick question from my side (please ignore my ignorance), how do you compute these stats? You have some code that do this job for you?
All the data that you can see in this overview can be found in @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space, I just use it to create the charts (via Google Sheets) and the table and the same thing (afaik) goes for other members that are doing similar overviews for their own local boards.

Thank you, Rikafip, for this brilliant effort. These stats will definitely help the Pakistani community here in proving the fact that they are very much active and rightly deserve their separate board. I am really interested in yearly review, or something I suggested before to show historical activity of local board from the first day they got created, and it doesn't need to contain all the details, but only important stuff.

A historical report from the beginning I won't say, because, as I said, the local boards appeared in different years, and therefore an analysis would not be realistic.

Now doing an annual analysis could be interesting, to get a simpler and more practical view of how things were developing in 2022.

I would even really like to invite some generous merit source to help our local board, but it's not mandatory as actually we still have 2 or 3 active merit source.
You can always use Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source topic if you think that some good posts are left unmerited. I've used it in the past when my local didn't have enough merit and it helped us a lot.

Is there any inteerst for a sort of yearly overview, and if yes should I just made it like this one and/or you would like to see something else? All ideas and suggestions are welcome. Thnx!
Great report as usual, but this one is special because we officially have new Nigerian board, and our local cro-king Slacko is back on his throne and he improved our statistics a lot  Cool

Indonesian merit/post ratio still varies considerably from month to month meaning there's still some room for improvement, but if you can keep it at last month's levels that would mean that no good post should be left unmerited, or at least few very few of those.
I know, we still have room to fix it and as a local user, I will of course try to make the best of it even though I'm not actually merit source. I would even really like to invite some generous merit source to help our local board, but it's not mandatory as actually we still have 2 or 3 active merit source.

I am still trying to figure out how to do yearly recap but I think that in the end I will just keep it simple and just add all those monthly stats (total amount of merit shared, posts written etc).
This is basically the exact same as the monthly recap, but it doesn't matter if you don't do it and stick to your habits.  Wink

The amount of merit currently being distributed is quite decent, and of course I always hope that the amount can continue to increase from one month to another. I am pleased to discover the fact that many of our local posters have managed to improve the quality of their posts and in the end they have contributed to our merit system and local board statistics.

Less than 10 days from now we will get the latest data and also data for closing in 2022. I plan to publish an annual recap, it's the same idea as last year.

Given that December is the holiday season when everyone is at home and has more free time, maybe this trend will continue. We look forward to your new information next month.
I think that will depend on the situation on the market so if there won't be many things going on I don't really expect it to be as busy as the last month.

As for the Croatian part of the forum, the king is finally back, long live the king  Grin
Finally everything went back to normal!
Haha yeah, I hope that you enjoyed those few months being at the top of the list, but its just more normal to see spammovic there.  Grin

Rikafip, thanks again for a job well done and very interesting information you shared.
So we finally, at least briefly, reversed the long-term negative trend and finally have more posts, merits and active members in the last month.

What matters more than position is the actual number of merits shared and that's where you performed very good and now you are at the very decent merit/post ratio. I mean, don't you agree that its better to be 6th with ~600 merits than 3rd with 400?
I thought about it, and I agree on that.

I guess the ones that engage in this sort of periodic updates (another one is @Coin-1 ) greatly underestimate the amount of commitment and work necessary to keep a thread lively updated.

I do not underestimate, I would like to make some improvements and at the moment I have little availability. So I end up trying to postpone it to see if I can make the improvements. But calmly we will do it.

I think they are all to be congratulated for the weekly/monthly effort they make to present us with this data!

THANK YOU ALL.

Thank you Rikafip for the latest statistics and congratulations to Nigeria for getting their own board they deserve.

We are very hopeful soon Pakistan will get their own board too.

Thank you for showing us love and extending your happiness to our achievement with the local board. Your country deserve to get one too because your activities are high also. Maybe theymos will grant it before Christmas. You and your country men should not give up.

Only the data associated to the Merits on their respective threads (no data on posts nor merit per post):
https://public.tableau.com/shared/ZNFWJ4DKD?:display_count=n&:origin=viz_share_link

The above data figures on the "Local Language Thread" tab, alongside the main local language thread’s Merit data. Here too, if any local language happens to have more than one thread (the Nigerian local board had a few threads there), then I’d only be tracking the main thread.

I’ve altered the path structure of the posts I’ve already got, that now conform the Nigerian local board. The Merit Dashboard now displays the data in the local board structures, as opposed to the local thread structure.
Awesome, thanks!

I just updated the merit senders/receivers chart so now data for Nigerian board is included as well. I guess you don't have that data for Pakistan and Bangladesh, or maybe you do and I was somehow unable to find it?

We also managed to rank in the top 6 in the merit distribution data, which has increased compared to the previous month where we were ranked 9th. It is difficult to maintain this position, but as far as I have observed our local board is still the most active compared to several other local board.
