In addition to the number of users who appear to be decreasing from month to month, the number of merit distributions and the number of posts is also decreasing.
I can see the comparison on this list. There has been a drop in merit stats, it has fallen by almost 50% since June 2022.

Please do not worry about it unnecessarily because the requirement of at least 1 post in period X is correct from the basic statement Smiley
Nah I won't lose my sleep over it, its just that I am always looking for ways to improve this overview and give a clearer picture of local boards activity and that's why I initially went with the most simple solution of counting everyone that wrote at least one post in a month.

I took the opportunity to add this information in my application topic to the merit source.  Wink

Glad to hear that there is some use for my charts and good luck with your application (even though I don't think that you will need luck but just some patience).

If you are considering adding something like that, I would suggest not making it a high number. 3 or 5 posts should be enough to call a person active on his local.
If I decide to make some changes, I won't even increase the requirement of posts needed but only add another stat, like how many users with more than x posts local boards have.

Rikafip, thank you once again for your efforts with the monthly overview of the local boards activity.
Given that August is the month of  vacations, I expected much worse results, but in the end it didn't turn out so bad  Grin
I was actually on vacation for half of August and completely inactive on the forum, I'm really surprised that I'm so good at local statistics.
Obviously, many others were on vacation, and our local champion didn't even come back from vacation  Grin

As I mentioned in my overview, I am thinking of ways to somewhat alleviate that issue and give a clearer picture of the amount of more active members and might be implemented in the next month's overview.
I don't think you need to change that. It's OK the way it is. If you were to change that and consider members as "active" if they wrote at least 10 posts in their local boards, you will run into other problems. Although it might work for large subs such as the Russian, where you have thousands of posts each month, it's going to look bad on boards where the total is 100 per month. The stats could then show that the smallest local forums only have 1 or 2 active members.

If you are considering adding something like that, I would suggest not making it a high number. 3 or 5 posts should be enough to call a person active on his local.

Yeah there is downfall in the users and post on the Indonesian board with a difference of 236 post this time and active users have also gone down with 5 which can be due to the reason you have mentioned above as many are writing for the campaign requirements only and if they didn't feel incentivise for it they lack the motivation to contribute but they should Focus more on having healthy participation with their local members.
Yes, the reason is true but I think their participation in local board is not mandatory but only awareness. Several times I have suggested that they are expected to be willing to do something for their local board regardless of whether they want to post or distribute merit, it's up to them. But some of these downward looking statistics shouldn't be a big deal for local board, but yes statistically it is something.

Keep up with the good posting!

fillippone, thanks for mentioning my topic in your analytics.

To be honest, this makes no sense, because the topic is long dead and I haven't updated it for a long time.

I had to double check where this thread was mentioned, because I sincerely forgot I still had this in my sources.
Yes, being it a little obsolete, it makes no sense to have it still.

Thanks for letting me know it![/list]

First, thanks for your great stats Rikafip!
About the active users in period X and board Y I have another question.

How exactly is this number determined?
For August, your evaluation provides a value of 140 in the German-speaking subboard.

Since that seems a bit high to me I would like to know how exactly the number is determined. Thanks Smiley
Its simple really, that chart shows the amount of members that wrote at least 1 post in local board during in that time period. So yeah, numbers will look inflated as its kinda hard to call someone who wrote only one post in a month an active member.  As I mentioned in my overview, I am thinking of ways to somewhat alleviate that issue and give a clearer picture of the amount of more active members and might be implemented in the next month's overview.

I hope its all clear now and I am definitely opened to suggestions how to sort that out.

I really appreciate your monthly overview of local board activities, Rikafip. You do a great job as usual. (By the way, you forgot to change the color of the German bar in the first chart, but it's not a big deal.)
Thanks for noticing, its been sorted now. But I guess  mistakes like that are tradeoff for doing these overviews so early in the month, I won;t do the same mistake next month and will take longer time to publish it.  Cheesy

Our Croatian local board is experiencing a small drop in activity compared to last month, but that was to be expected as summer is always a time of reduced activity on the forum. Hopefully, we will get back on track and the activity will increase after the summer break.
Summer definitely affected whole forum, our local board included. Its only natural to spend less time on forum and travel around, especially after covid restrictions when it wasn't easy to go to your local supermarket, let alone some other country (that didn't stop me to travel, but I know many were). I do expect numbers to go up now after summer is behind us but will see how that plays out.

I know everyone else is speaking English language so there is no need for special local boards, but I always wondered what the stats would look for United States, United Kingdom and Australia.
My assumption is that most active users are coming from US, but someone could be living in Asia or Europe and still speak US English.
Yeah that would be an interesting stat to see, how many users are from English speaking countries. While they may have dominated in the, past somehow I doubt its the same situation now. I don't have any data to back that up though, its just my impression based on the posts I see.

Some of the most active users have lost interest in posting on local board as the campaign no longer counts local posts, this has lowered the overall post count in August. Maybe for September, the data will decrease further for the above reasons as well.
Its pretty much the same situation in our local board as some of our most active members either went awol or are seriously slacking and its probably the same for majority of other local boards.

Mate, great work as usual! I already did the usual scavenging adding your graphs to my thread in the Italian section:
Cheers bud!

Thanks for this comment as a source of motivation for the push to get a local board for those mentioned local communities as our presence is becoming prominent in this forum and the need to have a dedicated local board, for local discussions.
Just keep being active there and they might stop ignoring you and give you you own local board, which I think you deserve.

Amazing job man and appreciate the efforts you put into compiling all these charts and make them in presentable format from different sources so that users can benefited from the same and each local board analysis can be done on some aspects. So well done and keep up these efforts. This time you are little early in posting these compared to some past ones which have gone across the monthly time period also so great job.

I'm no longer surprised by the drop in Indonesian board local activity data. In addition to the number of users who appear to be decreasing from month to month, the number of merit distributions and the number of posts is also decreasing. You are also maintaining the same level of dedication towards to publish these reports to the Italian gang and they can be benefited from it as well and you have your own style of presenting these statistical charts for local board. So keep the same posting as well.

There are few new members showing up recently but they are still not active enough to make significant changes with stats.
Our local king Slacko needs to be urgently reactivated or even Greeks, Polish and other boards are going to run over us.
Maybe he is still spending his royal bitcoin wealth in some seaside resort or island, but this is red alert and I am getting worried for him. Smiley

I really appreciate your monthly overview of local board activities, Rikafip. You do a great job as usual. (By the way, you forgot to change the color of the German bar in the first chart, but it's not a big deal.)

And once again, the Portuguese local is absolutely dominated by joker_josue, the unsung hero and undisputed king of the local boards. It will be very challenging to dethrone him since he doesn't even have strong competition for the moment. Wink

Just to remind the Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Nigerian, Bangladesh) don't have their local boards as of yet, with the hope that changes soon.
Thanks for this comment as a source of motivation for the push to get a local board for those mentioned local communities as our presence is becoming prominent in this forum and the need to have a dedicated local board, for local discussions. As I promised yesterday, here is the monthly overview of local boards activity for August 2022. All charts and table are made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space so I suggest that you check those awesome tools if you want more in-depth overview.

Just to remind that Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Nigerian, Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards as of yet, with the hope that changes soon.

Post activity per local board during August 2022

Seems like the drop in activity slowed down; during last month 14828 posts were written across 18 local boards, which is very similar to July numbers (18873). As usual, Russian local boatd has been the most active one with 5155 posts, followed by Turkish and German boards. As we have the standard names at the top, so we have at the bottom, with the usual "suspects". I did notice that Greek board (which is usually one of the least active ones) is getting more active month after month so hopefully that trends continues.

Regarding the communities without local boards that are included in this overview, two out of three (Pakistan and Nigerian) are still going very strong and I am really surprised that they still haven't received any feedback regarding their request for a local board.

Number of active members per local board during August 2022

During last month 1174 members were active across local boards, which is again a very similar number to July and 1188 members. It is a negligent decrease, especially considering the fact that even those that wrote only 1 post were included. Might be the time to consider either setting the bar higher, or sort this chart a little bit different.

Merit shared per local board during August 2022

Even though post activity was very similar compared to July, merit shared increased noticeably: from 5164 in July to 5501 during August, which is a ~6.5% increase. It might seem insignificant, but at this time I will take any increase as a positive thing.

As usual Russian board remain the most merited one which is understandable considering their post count), followed by Turkish, German and Italian. Once again I am surprised by Nigerian and Pakistan board and their very high numbers, especially considering the fact (afaik) that Pakistan board doesn't even have their own merit source.

Merit senders and receivers per local board for August 2022

Just a reminder that local boards are sorted according the amount of merit shared, and not by the amount of senders/receivers.

Merit/Post ratio per local board for August 2022

And in the end, lets see how local boards performed regarding the merit/post ratio. Since post numbers remained pretty much the same while amount of merit shared increased by ~6.5%, it is logical that ratio will increase as well (well, at least for the majority of local boards). Once again Arabic board had the highest ratio by far, even when you look at the 12 month ratio, so the last month wasn't just some rare exception for them.

Several very active local boards like Portuguese, Russian (situation there might be specific due war) and especially Philippines ( I still can't wrap my head around their extremely low merit/post ratio considering how active they are) so their members might think about applying for a merit source status.

The most active members per local board during August 2022

And for the end of this monthly overview, let's see the top 10 active members across the local boards. Once again @joker_josue has been the most active local member with 288 post, leaving @DdmrDdmr and his 191 posts far behind at the 2nd spot and @Ratimov with 159 at the 3rd spot.
