But it's not my fault! I tell the truth, that I will have fewer posts from the previous month.

For example, this June, I had two weeks with less than half the number of posts I usually do. By my guesses, I should have around 200 posts or something.
We will see how other users behave.

Its time for another monthly overview, this time a little bit sooner than the last month. Like in all previous overviews, all charts and tabled were made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space whihc I suggest to check if you want more in depth overview.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Nigerian, Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards (yet).

Post activity per local board during May 2022

Unfortunately we are continuing with the same trend; 17262 posts were written during May 2022 which is 6% decrease compared to month later. This is somewhat expected as summer coming so I guess people have better things to do than write on the forum.

Russian local board is by far the most active one while Turkish and German are holding their usual their usual 2nd and 3rd spots and its the same thing with 4th & 5th (Indonesian and Portuguese). Majority of active boards have somewhat similar numbers compared to previous one, except Pakistan that experienced huge decrease, going down from 863 posts written in April to only 315 during May. Dunno whayt happened there, maybe someone from their local can shed some light.

Even though numbers generally decreased, that didn't affect number of active users much as last month 1352 users wrote at least 1 post across all local boards which is very similar to April and 1372 active users. Keep in mind that this chart counts all users that wrote at least 1 post in that period so real number of active users is much lower than that. Its just that I haven't decided the threshold to determine that so for now I am keeping the minimum requirement

Merit shared per local board during May 2022

As expected, decrease of post activity led to decrease of merit shared as well; from 5556 merits shared in April, local boards went down to 4809 merits shared in May, which is pretty noticeable 13% decrease. While majority of that decrease is simply due fewer posts being written, some local boards could definitely use few more merit sources. Hopefully theymos sorts that out soon.

Self explanatory, everything is obvious here, with Indonesian board sticking out when it comes to amount of people that were part of merit system, despite the low amount of merit shared last month and similar thing can be said for Pilipinas and Turkish boards.

And for the end of this series of charts, merit per post ratio. Standard names are at the top so no mjuch changes there, but it is noticeable that 12 month average is getting often higher than the last which hasn't been the case up until now and I expect that trend continues. As I mentioned before, I think that majority of local boards have enough merit to share, its just that members are not as active as they used to be. At least that's the case in my local board and its probably the same situation elsewhere.

Last but not the least, list of top 10 most active members per local boards. Even though I expected joker_josue (who was still great with 327 posts) to dominates this list again, this time Azrieli from Russian local board was the most active one with the impressive 359 posts written.

OP submits his monthly reports on time. I was referring to[CHARTS] Monthly Overview Of The Unofficial Nigeria Local Board📈 which I'm in charge of, it has been extremely helpful in our quest for a local board; we got our thread pinned after Cyrus noticed our activity on the thread. We gained little visibility after the thread was pinned, new members are joining up on a daily basis.

As I previously stated, I will devote my time until we achieve our goal and more

IMO, it's still better to update it every 2 months than not to do it at all. LOL
For people who care about forum stats, merit and any activity on local board then I think they probably already know how to calculate it so far. Merit Dashboard and Ninjastic.space are two really helpful tools, so it probably wouldn't be a problem if the OP only had time to update them every 2 months.

But if someone takes the initiative to do so and updates it monthly, then I think the OP would welcome it. I don't think he'll be mad about it, but surely someone might need permission to hijack the thread. LOL

It's been 2 months since I last updated it, so bi-monthly wouldn't be a bad idea, but I'd keep it up for the monthly report because it makes more sense that way.

I'm stuck between two projects I'm running on discord and telegram, which is why I've been less active on the forum for the past few months, and, as you said, finding balance is difficult, especially when the kids still need your attention. Lol.

Ninjastic counts deleted posts so you get inflated numbers and that's the main reason why I was trying to avoid it while making these overviews, but since Russian board numbers got consistently screwed due high amount of deleted/moved old posts I started using that instead of merit dashboard. Unfortunately there's no perfect solution for this, and majority of local boards don't have a lot of spam anyway so in the end numbers are not that much inflated.

How are deleted posts treated on Ninjastic?  I tough about using max(0,posts) but i wasn’t sure it was the right thing to do. Very different results were on ratings of analysing at board or sub board level.

Yep, interesting chart. Maybe issue with Chinese and Russian board post deletion could be sorted by using data for those two boards from ninjastic space?


Tbh, weekly overview was an overkill so good decision to do it on a monthly basis instead. Since you are failing that as well maybe you should think about doing it on a bi-monthly basis.


It sucks when real life obligations get in a way of our forum activity. I always had an issue with finding the balance when it comes to forums as for me was either I'll spend few hours every day, or I won't show up for a couple of days at all. Lately its been the latter for me.

I also need Fillippone in my life, someone who will remind me that I have work to do. I've been slacking for nearly two months now since I last updated the Nigeria local board weekly activities. I shifted it from a weekly to a monthly report, but I'm still falling behind. When I get some free time this week, I'll try to update it from where I left off. I believe our outside forum groups significantly slow down our activities, particularly for me. But I'm glad that, despite the ups and downs, so many members are still committed to our thread and activities.

Ah, now I get it. Not a bad idea (and something I would like to see too) but goal of this topic is to compare local boards and not to compare how they perform against the forum in general. As I said before, I wanted to to keep this overview brief and its already kinda too big so I am not so inclined to add even more charts. But I will definitely think about it and maybe include it in one of the future overviews.

I can’t see the total numbers of merits of local boards, over the total merits in the forum: “Which percentage of merits has been distributed on local boards last month?”

Also:

“Which percentage of posts has been distributed on local boards last month?”

I think he is finally back today, there is still hope for us

Maybe I don't understand your mambo italiano english, but isn't this already provided in his reports?
You can clearly see number of posts for most members in local boards, and there is information about merit statistics as well.

My idea is to assess the level of activity in the local boards.

So, the first idea to determine how lively the “local boards ecosystem is”, would be to calculate the ratio between the number of posts in the local boards, as a whole, to the number of posts in the forum.

The second indicator would be the same ratio, but considering merits. So it would be merits in all the local boards over the merits across the whole forum.

Hope this clarifies.

I read it like 10 times and honestly I do not understand what kind of chart you have in mind. To compare total amount of posts in local boards vs general board as a whole or local boards vs all other boards? Or something completely different?

I think it would be a nice addition to the thread a graph summarising the posts in a single month gathered by the local boards as opposed to the general board.
The same graph was done for posts.
What do you think? I tried to gather similar graphs to help draw, but I miserably failed on finding how to export the data.
So two simple graph lines:

• local post/forum posts
• local merits/forum merits
