Yeah I saw your local board overview and I was waiting for you to call me out for slacking. Cheesy

Sorry, you know I like this inside joke of “slacking contest”, as you have understood,  it is even milder than a “friendly reminder” action.
I really think those analysis aren’t a chore.
So, when they are ready, they are ready!

Just a little reminder.
This month I lost our slacking contest, and I published my META update.
Yeah I saw your local board overview and I was waiting for you to call me out for slacking. Cheesy

Whenever you are ready, I will add your graph.
I made all charts couple of days ago and just have to write the text which I will do either later today or tomorrow morning at the latest, so you can expect it to be published tomorrow.

By far the most active member is a bot named ChartBuddy with 728 posts written during July, which is almost a double more than a 2nd most active member wrote. I will just share here top 10 and you can  find the rest at ninjastic.space

Just to share, that all this effort was rewarded today, having reached the Legendary level.
I thank everyone for the help they gave, when creating content to comment and for the merits given.

Congratulations on your achievement, which is absolutely deserved.
Your contribution to this forum is really great and visible to everyone, and I sincerely hope that you will soon become a merit source, because you also deserve it with everything you did on the forum.
This forum really needs more members like you, and I wish you the best of luck in your merit source application.

You already know how the merit system works, but you may be looking for ways to earn more merit. At the very least, your history of merit has made it clear to me indirectly that you know how this system works.
Someone can clearly analyze my desire to get more merit, it doesn't matter that's everyone's right.
But as I said before, hard work never betrays results.
Actually this is the point I want to learn?
And that's why I went into various sub-discussions to broaden my knowledge.

Maybe my thoughts are still a little ambiguous in understanding the merit system or services that I want to provide, so I need a lot of mentors to discuss, because in the past I didn't really pay much attention to the substance of the problem.
For example, what I'm responding to, if I don't try to fix it now, I'm afraid that in the future I won't be able to do anything for this beloved forum. That's why I get into posts that sometimes I don't master more deeply.
I also don't know if this is wrong?

I almost forgot to remind you, if you want to continue discussing how the merit system works or anything related to it, then let's continue here: Merit & new rank requirements
And thanks for this one.
Maybe in the future I can learn more about things related to this, so that in the future my knowledge will be more in-depth about the source of receiving/providing services.

It's not bad to expect from the source of achievement, because that is the most likely choice.
But the question is, do we fall into their category?
I didn't expect this response mainly because I'm not talking about what you can get (merit you earn) but about what you can provide to others (merit you send). That's why I say: find your own way to contribute to whoever you think is worthy regardless of whether you like doing it on a local council (recommended) or on a global board.

So far I've also started learning how the merit system works, they will come when someone starts to raise the standard of quality and is able to make a contribution.

Instead of expecting perfection from merit source, then find your own way to contribute to whomever you think is worthy regardless of whether you like doing it on a local board (recommended) or on a global board.
It's not bad to expect from the source of achievement, because that is the most likely choice.
But the question is, do we fall into their category?
I agree more with this parable "Because the process never betrays the result".
I mean, when we start identifying ways to make a positive impact on others, that's where we're most likely to stick around.

But I don't urge you to do that because maybe you have your own way of how you want to contribute whether it's about merit or maybe with your quality posts.
Everyone has their own limitations and advantages when choosing a place to go.
Choosing one, is the most likely thing to do, either achievement or post quality. Because people will develop, when they always pay attention to the drawbacks that must be corrected and take the time to learn.

So far I've also started learning how the merit system works, they will come when someone starts to raise the standard of quality and is able to make a contribution.
While the pattern may be different, some come with little benefit and some come with all at once.

  • Quality
  • Innovative
  • Constructive
  • Statistics
  • Contributions

Are parts that need to be selected and improved, so that the way the forum works will be more systematic, measurable and run well.
Because if you hope all at once, it may be difficult to achieve in the near future.

I completely forgot about him for a while and yes he will definitely on the top posting the depth charts for bitcoin prices on WO thread and others asking him to pump up the charts a little bit.He usually have such high number of posts each month but other members also spending quality time over forum is appreciable.

So the point is, the more I come here, the more I understand how the merit system works. I can never expect all of them to have the same ways and habits but I can expect them to do what is best for the community.
See this system has given all of us free choice to distribute smerits on the forum and there are many members including me also (not a source) who hands out 1-2 merit in each TX and if you think they are not distributing enough merits you can always report some good posts here for your local board that can help other sources to merit them if they understand the language.

Well deserved as you already have the merits for legendary rank you gained the required activity also so congratulations on your new rank man.

I am just curious to know how an account can be a bot and automatically post on bitcointalk.  Is there any method or script which makes this happens  Huh  I am not a programmatic tech so maybe I am not able to understand if this is a simple thing.
You can read about it here that how he managed to do automatic posting on the forum and is posting the price depths charts on WO thread on the forum.

There were some other members also doing bot posting like @LoyceV as he has mentioned in this thread also.

They use certain script for posting through bots and you can also use some if you want as it's allowed but only if you are sharing something useful.

Using bots is fine, just as long as they follow the rules. The sad truth is that most people use them to spam or plagiarise content, but there are genuine uses for them.

We can't count on this bot. Besides being a bot, it posts every hour... that's unbeatable!   Tongue

Another question is that are bots and their posting is allowed on the forum ? (of course, they must be allowed as the bot topped the highest poster  Smiley but still asking)

Each merit source has its own meriting habit as some send more in bulk, some like to merit more different posts. Also keep in mind that not all merit sources have the same amount of merit allocation which can also affect the way they send merit.
You're right, that's something I wanted to hear about them. I know that some merit sources set high standards like technical posts whether it's about wallets or something technical about bitcoin. A lot of people don't have the expertise to understand that and discuss such a thing in multiple threads so it's not uncommon for me to see them discussing it with the same user for different times.

So the point is, the more I come here, the more I understand how the merit system works. I can never expect all of them to have the same ways and habits but I can expect them to do what is best for the community.

He is the key so hopefully he gets back into sig campaign after his summer vacation is over. Fingers crossed.
Maybe we should try to bribe him somehow, I am just thinking what would be the best way to do it Wink
Even with his reduced activity he was still on top in our local board but Daniel91 and Trofo was much closer than in previous months.

I think we have to help him and find him a place in a signature campaign as soon as possible.
He rested enough, and now is the right time for him to get more involved in this forum and improve our local statistics.  Cheesy
This month I didn't manage to overtake him in the number of posts, but last month I had more posts than him and that is a historical moment that I will never forget, because it will probably never happen again  Grin Grin

Unfortunately for the month of August my local board will be missing some of the most active posters as the campaign they are promoting is no longer accepting local posts. Some of them no longer even post on local boards after the manager announced them but I never thought we would lose them forever even though statistically the number of posts will drop drastically next month.
Tbh that sucks, that people are not willing to write in their local boards unless posts count for signature campaign but that's something that many do, adjust their posting behavior according to campaign rules. I was in BestChange for almost two years (another campaign that doesn't count local boards posts) and I never stopped being active in my local board.

Rikafip, looks like you should correct a bit about the Turkish merit distribution because the actual number on the chart is Turkish (716-492), it's not a big mistake but maybe you forgot to press the shift key while closing the brackets.  Cheesy
You are right, I forgot to press shift so I wrote "0" instead of ")". Anyway, its been corrected now and it looks like I will have to start proofreading these overviews before publishing.  Cheesy

The only thing that actually surprised me was info that the amount of merits distributed during July fell a lot compared to June, as much as 30%.
Very interesting.
It seems that all members with a lot of merits were on vacation during July  Grin
Yep, that was a huge drop, might even be a record one as I don't remember number of merits dropping so much in two and a half years since I am making these overviews. Big part of the reason for this drop is June which was great in terms of merit shared so that affected July. By the way, more merits was shared during July (5164) than May (4809) so situation ain't that bad as it looks at first.

Thank you Rikafip for another very interesting analysis of our forum, although in fact we could all already guess in advance what the results and trends would be  Cheesy
Given that the trend of decreasing activity on the forum has been going on for a very long time, it would be a real surprise if the trends changed in the summer months, when normally we always have a decrease in activity on the forum.

I think Croatian local forum could finally improve statistics in next few months if our newly activated member keeps his interest for Bitcoin despite recent market crash (again).

Rikafip I have to say you are improving your monthly reports and fighting laziness in the same time  Cheesy
