Guys, I'm almost done buying the following stuff:

Graphics Cards: 3x XFX Radeon RX 480 GTR OC 8GB - RX-480P8DFA6
Motherboard: GIGABYTE - Socket 775 - GA-EP35-DS3P
Riser: PCIe x1 to x16 Powered Extender (Over 1m USB 3.0 Cable) (USB 3.0 A with Molex)
PSU: Corsair CX750M 750W Watt Bronze Power Supply

Two out of three graphics will directly be connected with the motherboard (as there are 2 x16 PCI-e slots) and one will use the extender through x1 slot on the motherboard. Windows 10 x64 will be used as an OS.

Do you guys think that I'll be able to secure 85 Mh/s with this specification of the system using Claymore GPU miner? Someone here got any past experience with any of this stuff?

Can you elaborate on the ddu? Not sure if that is an acronym I am supposed to know?

Thanks,

DDU stands for Display Driver Uninstaller

Check it out: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Hi everybody.

I have 2 XFX reference 480 GPUs. When I run claymores miner, I get about 14 MHs on dual mining from each card. ( terrible I know, 16.7.X drivers, haaaalp)

After I turn off the miner, my GPU 1 will "stop mining" but my GPU 0 will keep running and displaying that it is under 100% load.

And then 9/10 times the AMD monitor will crash and I have to restart my computer to get the video card to stop running balls out.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!

First download latest driver from amd.  Then Run ddu and remove all drivers.  Try setting them up again from scratch. I thought a week ago was claymore miner giving me fits but was indeed an issue with drivers.  Hope that helps.  I just snagged 2 480 one from sapphire and one from asus. I'll report back after sept 1 when they arrive.  Pd 209 for the asus and 239 for the sapphire:).  I'm happy with that.  Check out eBay for those of you looking. Newegg is selling them cheap on there atm. Sold out on new egg but not on their seller acnt on the bay.

Edit I'm on 16.8.2 driver win 10 with rx470 running 6 days straight now. No issues.

can i mine decred and sia only ... no eth .. if so can someone copy me the bat command for that
No, you can dual mine, or Eth only.  It is intended as a dual miner.  If you REALLY REALLY wanted to, you could set -ethi really low, and -dcri really high. Any reason for not wanting to dual mine?

i have nvidia cards isn't that good in eth really

anybody know how to get json statistics from miner port ?
i want to make new feature in my simplemining.net OS

EDIT
oh i already found answer:
echo '{"id":0,"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"miner_getstat1"}' | nc localhost 3333
We need connection over socket.

Thanks for all the feedback, the Gen 1 setting in Bios worked and I can get past post but with only 5 GPU's. After some testing, I think one of the 480's just does not like risers since it works fine in another PC on the X16 slot. Anyway, I installed Win10 and it sees the 5 cards, less the flaky one that does not like a riser. But now when I start claymore, the display driver crashes and thus crashes Claymore. Using AMD 16.7.2 driver and Claymore 6.2 BETA.
Anyone running the same versions of driver, claymore, BTC Pro MB and 480's?

Have you tried the 6xGPU Mod?
https://lbr.id.lv/6xgpu_mod/6xGPU_mod_download.html

If worked for me with Win7, 6 x R9 380X and 15.12 driver.

I don't know if it works with Win10, RX480 and 16.7.2 driver.

Win10 should support 6 GPUs anyway.

Regards!

What are you guys getting hash rate wise for NVIDIA 1070 dual mining with SIA using Claymore?
I've got a rig with 2 MSI Gaming X 1070s, and I've OC'd them +50 core, +661 mem, 65% power.  I'm getting about 58MH/s ETH and 1100MH/s SIA for 425watts at the wall (including 50watts idle usage).  I've heard other guys get MUCH lower power consumption, but I've got no idea how...

On dual mining power usage is huge, also Gaming X use a lot of power, to save you can drop power limit down, that should lower the GPU voltage (you can check GPU voltage in GPU-z)
Try to get GPU voltage to low as 0.88v, duno what speed can you get stable try ~1800Mhz and push memory as match you can
Samsung can go +800-900Mhz and micron 500-650
Yeah, currently with 65% TDP, I'm alternating around 0.875v to 0.88v, if memory serves me.  I've got micron cards, so +661 mem is the best I've been able to do.

I didn't realize the Gaming X would be such a power hog when I bought them.  Any recommendations for other brands with lower power usage that still have decent fan setups and run cool?

I just got in 6 x MSI 480 Gaming X 8 GB Cards.  Quickly installed them and newest drivers 16.8.2 and show:

ETH / SIA or DCR -  24.5mh and 370 SIA/DCR on default intensity and 1300 Watts at the plug.

ETH / SOLO - 24.5 1170 Watts at plug

What setting do you use on your 480 to undervolt those to a stable undervolt?  Like I said I just got them so don't know how they will react =)

Thanks!
Depends on card, I have 2 Sapphire 470s (4GB and 8GB), and they are both stable at 0.955v.  To get under 1v, I also have to lower memory voltage.  I have an Power Color Red Devil 470, it is more around 0.97, it varies between 0.97 and 1.0v, I have it set at 1.03v, I guess they handle the voltage differently.  So it depends on card.  480 would probably be similar.  So I would start at around 1.03v, and see from their, when computer locks up, add about 30mv and test for stability, press s while mining to check for incorrect shares.  Also I use ~40-60 DCRI, maybe higher for a 480, my first one I just ordered so I don't know yet.  I get 24.3/450 with sia, and dcri 38 on a 470.  I get about 160-170W at the wall per card.

Do you undervolt off of the bat file?  If so would you mind sharing what you write in there?  Thanks!
I undervolt with WattMan, I only change state 7 (boost), and memory voltage.  I don't change power limit since with undervolt the sapphire doesn't throttle anyway.  Red Devil throttles still when dual mining, but only loose ~50-100MH on sia.  I use GPU-Z to monitor actual voltage readings, though WattMan has graphs for various metrics also.  GPU only power draw (shown in GPU-Z) drops ~20-30W per card.

So you got 6 x16-x1 risers? Have you tried x16-x16 riser if you got one? i got a gigabyte mb which recognized all 6 cards if two of them are installed directly to mb or using x16-x16 riser. A bug or feature, don't know.

Yep, using 6 x x16-x1 powered risers, the H81 BTC Pro MB only has on x16 on board and if i place a card directly in the slot then it covers one of the X1 slots. I don't have a x16 to x16 riser to test, but guess I'll order a couple to try. Just pissed, have 6 480's sitting around doing nothing and diff is shooting up daily!

That said, looked on Amazon for a x16 to x16 and they all have shit reviews, not a single one looks good, people saying it has shit contacts and a few fired the MB.

Any recommendations on a quality x16 to x16 riser?

Watch those 16x-16x. I just fried a vid card with one of those.  Luckily it was a cheapo I used just to setup Windows.  I suggest to do what I had to do with the Msi.  load one card at a time. Rebooting between each card.  Also what vid connection are you using   For mine I had to connect a special monitor plug to it. Lookup on Amazon. They are from compulab "display emulator". Get the hdmi version and connect monitor to the dvi connection of same card or the card that is in the 16x slot.  Those mobo will work with a 1x-16x in the 16x slot.

Thank you for replay.
Where to find good power risers? It seems hard to find good one. Cry
