Having dag issues with 2x AMD RX 580 8Gb cards with the latest Claymore ver. 15. Windows 10 is using around 3.6Gb total when mining then when it creates the dag which is a additional 4.0Gb it pushes it over 8Gb so therefor the AMD 8Gb cards can no longer mine ETH though NiceHash which was what I was doing until my computer crashed so bad I had to reinstall Windows 10... Long story short The Claymore Developer needs to update Claymore to support a total of 8Gb GPU with the GPUs on a little under half load. I've took countless steps to try and remidey the problem but no such luck... That includes uninstalling the latest version of NiceHash Installing again, reinstall diffrent versions of NiceHash, Set my Virtual Mem to 30000 and uninstalling and reinstalling diffrent versions of the AMD Drivers starting with 19.7.5, 19.10.2/3 and 19.12.3. Still same outcome, Can not create big dag for GPU openCL error and tells me to restart miner which I have also done countless timesiss. Embarrassed

You must change Miner Software , switch to Phoenix miner that work weel and have very similar setting ..
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/phoenixminer-62c-fastest-ethereumethash-miner-with-lowest-devfee-winlinux-2647654

The problem si that Clyamore is too long times not updated so do not work with actual DAG dimension .. s not your problem is a claymore problem ..

I already tried with Phoenix miner but there is a problem. With 5.0e start mining but very often it`s restart itself (just the miner software). With 5.1c version after 20-30 minutes it`s appear message Phenixminer exe stopped working. With the oldest versions is same like claymore. Any idea? Thanks

I had the exact same issue but with Ubuntu, for some reason Claymore 15 doesn't work anymore with my 4GB cards. With Windows it stopped working even earlier than that. Which is a shame because I liked Claymore with the remote manager and stability and all. However Phoenix pretty much seems to do everything Claymore can, the commands might be slightly different but the features are the same.

t

Thanks for repply. Sad for Claymore, i liked Claymore a lot. So, do you know the "-rxboost" equivalence in Phoenix? im lost about 4K Mhz for each card without this command on phoenix... :/ (i dont use OC)
You should use AMD Memory Tweak (https://github.com/Eliovp/amdmemorytweak binaries are here compiled by me for those who don't know how to compile the source: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1sgYugFgFq5Ja89DexDvwgvP1dtRO2d7A) and you will 100% sure get 1.0%-1.5% more hashrate than Claymore.

Unzip WinAMDTweak.zip to some folder XXX. Run Claymore with your best settings on epoch 300 (EthDcrMiner64.exe ... -benchmark 300 ...). After that run a command prompt window with Administrative privileges ('Run as Administrator'), navigate to WinAMDTweak.zip unzipped folder XXX using 'cd XXX' command and after that run:

WinAMDTweak.exe --current

You will see the current memory setting of Claymore. Something like this:
https://www.cryptoprofi.info/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/word-image-49.png

Copy/Paste them down in text file.
After that stop Claymore. Run WinAMDTweak.exe --...  with these settings and run Phoenixminer.exe after that with the  same -cclock -mclock -cvddc -mvddc parameters like Claymore.

For Nvidia use PM 5.1 with -straps option.

reinstalled Windows with rx480, switch to calculate in radeon drivers, add arguments to claymore specified -strap 1 -rxboost 1 in Nicehash miner ---- everything is as it was before, but claymore did not accept these arguments and gives 24 mx.

Can you tell me what the problem is?

I had this issue before. Basically if your clock rates are properly set (memory clock at least 2000mhz) then your issue is that most likely you need to manually mod your bios. For me it was hit or miss with the "-strap 1" command, on some rigs it worked while on others I couldnt get it to work, got a low hashrate and just manually modded the straps with the bios.

Try that and then run it with and without the strap command, if you are still getting the slow speed then download a different version of AMD drivers, sometimes the latest ones can be buggy. And make sure your core clock is at least 1100mhz or so. Make sure its not stuck at 700mhz or so.

Hello Everyone   Smiley
first post!!

i am running 2 rigs, all cards are RX 580 8g armors, Windows 10 with claymore v15, both rigs stopped working when the ETC epoch hit #379
All GPU's  "not enough GPU memory to place DAG, you cannot mine this coin with this GPU"
"OpenCL error -61 - cannot allocate big buffer for DAG"
"OpenCl error -38 - cannot write buffer for DAG"
server: accept failed with error: 10004

my virtual mem is at 55000
AMD Drivers 19.9.2
im using AMD software for tuning GPU's "GPU 1165MHz, 853mV" "Memory 2080MHz, 853mV"

Now when i update drivers to either latest 20.9.2 or drivers back to near beginning of the year i can mine again but now the hashrate is 19.2
Without tuning gpus i get 22.4 hash

Before #379 my hashrate was 31.3

In my bat file i have "-eres 0 -epsw x -mode 1 -r 1 -strap 1 -rxboost 1"

looking forward to solution
thanks

Looks like it is time say goodbye to Claymore. Thanks for many years for miner. i moved to phoenixminer works good but cant get hashrates like in claymoe, i will appreciate if someon can share AMD mem tweaks for RX470/480/570/580, Thanks everybody
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1I-7MCcNIm2cV7Nf4nmq8DH6EibPbEhyb/view?usp=sharing
This tweak with command --ref 30 is analog -rxboost in claymore miner.
Create shortcut of file start_WAMDT.bat and put into autostart directory (C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup), also you can change timeout in file start_WAMDT.bat to start tweak, i set 12sec.

I found the solution. I  remove old devices and drivers  (intel, microsoft) in device manager -  display adaptors ! Now its OK!

Well that's good for you, in my case after uninstalling that driver in device manager and restart, the driver automatically reinstalled again, so there is no use of that method because windows has the cache of every driver we installed, unless we delete it using DDU.

I've counted 34 collaborators/meritors for the miner (take a look at the header of this thread). None of them has contacted Claymore to let him know about the problems the miner is having? If there's not a fix for the recent issues, this miner is dead. It's very sad, this is one of the best and easiest programs to use for mining.

Update the drivers to the newest ones.
I've already mentioned that I tried all the drivers from last year upto the latest one sep 2020 release. Same Isuue.
Uninstall Claymore driver that is used for straps and rxboost perform DDU and install the newest drivers.
https://i.ibb.co/CVsGQwB/Capturenice.jpg
See the above screenshot, even the Nicehash disabled the Claymore due to the DAG issue with epoch more than 379. It's a confirmed issue with Claymore. So unless the developer updated it, claymore miner is dead for ETH.
