what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?
Are you using Windows 10? Then most likely it was some forced Windows update which included new drivers for your AMD GPUs. I ran into this problem a few times in the past. It would either not hash at all because all the overclocking settings were reset OR it would hash at a slow speed because compute mode was disabled by default.

It was a pain in the butt to disable but somehow with some reg hack I was able to prevent any updates from happening again. Search the web and there is a guide on how to disable Windows 10 updates. Its pretty indepth and you need to block access to certain DNS hosts.

there are (or were) a couple services that i disabled in win10 1709 and that machine has not updated since. pretty sure i didnt do any dns stuff (for instance my hosts file is still stock). but again that version 1709.

that was from a guide i found online a couple years ago. so i have no idea where i got it or if that method (disabling various services only) still works.

Hi, I have a problem, I have a rig with 5 GPU RX580 8GB - W10 - Claymore 15. With ethereum I have no errors and they are 158MHS total. But with ETC I get error OpenCL - 38 - cannot write buffer for dag. What's going on?
Thank you!

I have the same problem when switching to etc or vice versa, I don't even think where the problem come from, If that problem shows on my miner,  I pull out some of my gpu's to riser, then shutoff the psu then psuh a long press with the miner's power button, after that I plug again my gpu's then turn on pc, then the problem resolve, It looks funny and estrange, But I lost all of my method to deal this problem.

Hello! Since yesterday my ether rigg (6x AMD RX 580 8gb) has gone down from 174mhz (29mhz per gpu) to 60mhz (10mhz per gpu) .... does anyone know why it may be?   Cry Cry

You should look at WUB ( Windows Update Blocker) - please don t take it as AD. Ive myself lost alot of nerv trying to stop this mindfk.... feathure to shut up. Schedules cripts , disabling servicers ,  LTSB ver. and etc and etc.
Then i found this tool. You could enable WU any time to install update like .NET framework if needed. Then shut the f. WU again in one click.

Do you have environment variables from README in your bat file? I mean these lines:
Code:
GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
I have found that it help with this error.

Most likely driver update and cards are no more in compute mode

today 4gb card stopped working again, fix?
Maybe it is just your virtual memory?

I just tried it now using my 8 rx 570 4gb, but I got some dag creation error, I think this is the end of 4gb, anyway there's ather coin to mine with our 4gb or better to sell it until it has a better price.

I just face this problem and solved by using Adrenaline 19.4.3

My card is RX570 8G

Can anyone help i couldnt find anywhere. making me crazy now.

system is 6 X RX 480 8G sapphire. ram 8g ssd 128g cpu 9100f Z390. virtual memory 64g psu 1200w gold thermaltake

Problem is if i use strap any number 1.2.3.4 windows crashes bluescreen. without strap working no problem. Right now only 1 GPU pluged to x16 slot same thing. strap crashes. damn it if i knew i could keep modded bios with no problems and these strap crap i wouldnt be using. tried new windows installed same thing. driver tried many 20 and 19 versions and blockcain drivers as well same thing. Where is this Claymore is he dead?

Phoenix miner works with no problem but it is giving low hashrate 26Mhz. Claymore with strap 32-33Mhz i was getting. People who says phoenix faster how you get it?

Thanks

All my 4gb cards are running just fine on Team Red Miner  Grin

They have another 6-7 weeks of life left.

why don't you use phoenixminer?

windows 10, 8gb rx580 in main slot with 7x4gb rx580, with "eres". Since yesterday the 4gb cards will not mine even though claymore starts and runs with no DAG errors

If you want to eek out another month or 2 of mining you'll have to switch over to Linux based OS as they have less overhead loaded onto the card's VRAM allowing for a larger DAG to be created. Even then all 4GB cards and ASICs will be kicked off by December.

Incidentally, ETC has a slightly larger DAG than ETH and the devs are planning to decrease the DAG to make 3 and 4GB cards viable again for mining so you may want to consider switching to ETC which at this time is actually more profitable than ETH due to the recent 51% attacks and scares.

If the 8GB in the main slot doesn't work then there is nothing else that will make it work because Windows needs to put a certain amount of cache in the GDDR memory. So it loads the most in the main GPU but it also needs to add some little cache in the 4GB GPUs. If they stopped working also its because the small amount of cache is enough to make it run out of memory.

So using another miner under the same OS won't work. I tried all the miner software out there and none of them worked. The easiest way is to just get SMos which is easy to set up and should work right off the bat. Only issue with SMOS is you need ethernet because the wifi won't work. If you need Wifi then you need to install Ubuntu which will make most Wifi adapters work straight out of the box.

Either way, even if you do this. You got maybe 1.5-2.0 months of mining left, so if you want to mine long term you need to upgrade your farm to 8GB GPUs.

There must be some differences between drivers or miners because i had the same problem with my rig (first card 8gb and others were 4gb models). Only miner i got to work was TRM, CM or PM didn't work.

Only problem i have with TRM is that sometimes hashrate drops to 1, usually when epoch changes but it can be fixed by restarting miner.

This is not Ad, I just told the way i got it to work and it costs nothing to try...

Are you using Windows 10? If setting -eres 0 doesn't work then there isn't much you can do but either upgrade 1 of your GPUs to 8GB and put it in the main slot. Or you can install Linux and use PhoneixMiner and you should be good for maybe up to 2 months or so.

I had the same issue as you, and couldn't get Claymore or PhoenixMiner to work under Windows 10. Switched to Linux and PhoenixMiner worked but Claymore still didn't. Was a pain to set up initially due to overclocking and undervolting settings but eventually got everything to work nice and stable.

Or Use TeamRedMiner on Win10
