Hey guys, both on 9.7 and 9.8, I'm getting "CUDA error - cannot allocate big buffer for DAG."  "GPU 0, CUDA error 11 - cannot write buffer for DAG"

This is on a GTX 960 which was working fine on 9.6

Maybe I need older nVidia drivers and windows 10 with anniversary update?

You need to update to Win10 Anniversary Update or better.  Try the Creators update build 15063.

Latest nVidia driver will be fine.

Is there any real major change between v9.5 and v9.8  Grin
I still use v9.5 and it is very stable for months. I am scared to change it to v9.8  Grin
Can anybody advise?

well, you should install 9.7 it is about 10-15% faster for 1060 and about 3-5% faster for 1070
there is less downdrop in MHs for dual mode as well
That is not true at all. Do you really think Claymore would release a version that is so much slower?

I have done quite a bit of testing both versions and they are identical on both 1070 and 1060.

However, if you are using DCR as dual coin and you get "Server full" message on Yiimp (if you are using that pool) then the ETH hashrate will be much higher because it is not dual mining at that moment.

Ypsi, I believe you got Makak4R suggestion in the wrong way.
As I can see it he advised to go from 9.5 to 9.7 because its faster.
It might be worth not to update to 9.8 as it does not bring performance increase and people reporting all sorts of issues.

When start mining with this miner hash rate is 18mh/s per GPU.

Check if cards have hynix memory (gpu-z for example)

Which NVIDIA driver version are you guys finding works best w/ 9.7?

When I overclock GPU result is same.
do NOT overclock GPU, overclock memory only. my 1060 does almost 25 mh/s with +850 MHz mem

Yes I'm overclock memory, here is my Afterburner
http://imgur.com/a/vsv2x

Don't know why GPU clock goes to Boost it can be 1800MHz but Core clock is 0.

Maybe I need older nVidia drivers and windows 10 with anniversary update?

What about fan control in Overdrive software? They didnt work.

You do not need it in Overdrive. Fan controll perfectly works in AB.

Yes I know but I dont want to use AB if it works in Overdrive. But definitely I need to use it Smiley

Hello,

I'm new in this world.

I have rig with 6 x 1060 GTX, MB: H81 Pro BTC, 4GB RAM, Intel Celeron processor.

When start mining with this miner hash rate is 18mh/s per GPU. I have last version of Windows 10 Pro version 1703 and last version of NVidia driver version 385.28

When I overclock GPU result is same. Sometimes I got bluescreen with nvlddmkm.sys TDR_VIDEO_FALURE

What I need to change? Can someone help?

Thank you!

Here solution if AB not works for you to lowering voltage.

Use Overdrive.

1.Start it (you see options to choose cards) choose one
2. Double click on left column P0 till P6 - DISABLE IT.
3. In P7 (that only left) set desired Freq and Voltage (that for GPU)
4. IN P1 (under MEMORY) set desired Freq
5. APPLY and SAVE as profile 123
6. Do same for all cards you have and rig (same profile name 123)
7. Test you settings (for stability) - you will se all works you GPU is UNDERVOLTED !
8. Now you need make .BAT file and drop it to autostart (windows)
For example inside bat file:  OvedriveNTool.exe -p0"123" -p1"123" -p2"123" -p3"123" -p4"123
Drop a link to autostart and enjoy.

-p0 - that GPU number it goes from 0 till How many you have
"123" - that a profile name that you save
Names can be different, depends how you like it.

All works fine. Good Luck

P\S

If you have DIFFERENT CARDS IN RIG or DIFFERENT SETTINGS FOR EACH CARD.
You need to create OWN profile for each.
0 1 2 3 4 5 etc
In Overdrive set all for card 0 then NEW (ENTER PROFILE NAME) SAVE
Choose other card set all NEW (ENTER DIFFERENT PROFILE NAME) SAVE
ETC
So the bat file will look like OvedriveNTool.exe -p0"0" -p1"1" -p2"2" -p3"3" -p4"4"  etc

What about fan control in Overdrive software? They didnt work.

Im trying to disable dualmining on a couple of gpu's to save some power, in order to add a 6th gpu. Im using an old 500W psu, so power is a limitation.

My problem is:
When i put "-mode 1-12" in the "Claymore.stub.conf" file it doesnst stop dual mining on GPU1 and 2.
When i change "-mode 0" to "-mode 1" its still dual mining on all gpu's.

Ive tried restarting the rig after i edit, ive tried minestop. I am using Ethos.

You can run 2 instances one dual, one single, disabling cards using -di for each. If there is no second coin pool's info,  solo mode is automatic so no there i no need for "mode" command.
____
You can disable second coin manually with the numeric keyboard pressing the card's number twice.

Claymore, After 1-2 days main card drop to  8 mh from 26 mh in dual without asm mode, with asm mode it`s dropped in ours. Other cards is normal. In ether only seems ok too. What can be a problem? other algo also works good, no overclocking.

I've updated my eth win10pro rigs(470 & 480) with custom beta dag fix and then with official beta drivers.
All went fine, overall power is lower and DAG fix works well, Polaris is are back to 28
New API won't allow watttool to work, so using internal claymore's mclock/cclock does the trick
running at my usual 850mv, for undervolting had to put fixed lower voltages in bios, as with original offsets it would be over 1v no matter what (AB is not a good tool to use)
now -mvddc -cvddc also seem to work, not really sure how the correlation process with bios numbers work, as both my curves(bios & actual) are close yet not exact.

There's one issue that I really dislike though - FANs control. I even had to go back to 16.11.4 after switching to the AMD beta dag fix due to FANs issues on my ZEC rigs due to crazy fan speeds and unstable temps.

@Claymore can you maybe allow to set internal AMD target temperature(also min/max fan values) trough their API and let their native fan control to do its job?

Not working via bat file. Only with manual apply, one by one.

Works for me just fine, thank you!

It worked on one rig but on second not...
