Is it worth overclocking for an additional 10mhz from 137 to 147 if getting a lot of incorrect shares (over clocking errors) is a repercussion?

You don't get paid for incorrect shares so better to go slower and be more accurate. You are only paid on valid shares. Lots of invalid shares will significantly reduce your average hash rate on the pool.

I'm trying to mine an alt coin in a rig with 380 (4Gb) cards and one 7950 (3Gb) but it keeps crashing when it is switching between normal and dev mining on the 7950.  I'm using:

-allcoins -1 -allpools 1

and instead of crashing 15 minutes into mining, it now lasts and hour and then crashes.

Can someone explain the -allcoins option for me?  in the Readme it says to use "-allcoins 47" to specify room for epoch #47.   Is that for 47 epochs from where it started or what?   how often are the new epochs created.

Just trying to figure out something else to try and looking for suggestions.   I don't want to run with the -nofee option.

Im the very decease you pretend to be
Guys. Everywhere there is a notice drivers 15.12 are REQUIRED. It is a really MUST for the best compatibility? I downloaded 15.12 but were absolutely unable to install them. Now running on 16.9.1... Hash speed is floating, it drops to 12-19 MH, from 28 MH, very often. I have modded bios (just copied timings from 1750 to 2000 field).

Use 16.11.4 for modded rx400 series. (16.9.2 also good)
Anything starting from 16.9.1 will normally do. After 16.12 the bois sig is on, so no support for modded cards without patching the drivers

If you use "-asm 0" you won't see problems with floating speed.
miner 9.1, -asm 0, driver 17.2.1, RX480

http://prnt.sc/ezfa9j

But drivers 17.2.1 does not require signature if the bios is edited?

Hey guys I'm now into mining for like 3 weeks - everything running fine so far (I assume)
Now a question got into my mind:
Since I'm mining on my gaming rig with a 480 while I'm not playing I thought about getting a additional 470/480 and plug it into my pc.
I'm aware of the feature to stop GPU0 with pressing 0. Will I then be able to game on GPU0 while the second card is mining in the background?

It will depend on your cards settings, overall stability, mem & CPU usage but yes. You should be able to do that. No problem...
Also use "-di 123.." and do not start miner on card 0 at all

You can't use 15.12 with rx400 and rx500 series. 15.12 are for older cards: r9, fury and so on.

@Claymore, I have a small feature request with ethmon.  I'm sure many others here would like this option too if possible.
"Execute .BAT file if miner has problems"
Can we separate this into 3 separate batch files?
One that runs if there are GPU temp issues
One that runs if there are hash rate issues
One that runs if the rig goes offline
If you could implement this, I would be grateful Smiley
Thanks again for an awesome miner!

It can be achieved with additional parameter to BAT file that EthMan calls.
Ok I will add it.

If this is already achievable, can you show us a batch file example on how to separate the 3 different error events?
I have already created a batch file which sends me an email and alerts me of which rig in my farm is having issues. I have been using this method for a few months now, as its quicker and allows for less downtime to have ethmon alert me than waiting almost an hour for the pool to alert me.  However, it would be nice to know the specific problem the rig is having (whether it be overheat, hash rate, or offline).  Thanks again

miner 9.1, -asm 0, driver 17.2.1, RX480

Hmm, I did not change GPU kernels for "-asm 0" mode for a long time, so you must see this issue in v8.x too. Anyway, upcoming fix is for ASM mode only.

is this to much incorect shares for ether?  rig is stable as rock for almost a week
speed fluctates too much for my taste, but that is "normal" on rx400 series, on pool average hashrate is 6-7 mhs lower than reported, i think it's ok

What are your timings when you ping pool addresses? Why do you have that many pool reconnections?

how i can do that?

Hi people, first sorry for my bad english, my problem is that i buy 4 saphire nitro (no plus) RX480 8GB, and i think i did a very bad buy becouse this model https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06VSWDK2H/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1  it has only 1750 mhz of memory clock and i think that it dosent have doble bios option. I buyed becouse i did not know that there where 3 diferents models of nitros... my question is, how much less hashrate will i have with claymores miner? and does standart bios mod for nitro+ work in this version or do i need a different one?

PD: I read that peoples gpus are dying for using dual miner ether/+ and for mod the bios, i do not want to happen to me, does it really damaged your card to mod the bios and do dual coin mine?

- Its not a BAD card. Its is a cheap card. This is why you chose it in the first place. So you already saved some money. Why regret now?
- You still can mod Bios. But modify it yourself rather than use someonelse's. Follow step by step instructions bit by bit (can be easily found via google).
- You should ask questions on the forums where you read "that peoples gpus are dying for using dual miner". I did not see anything like that in this thread.

I bought 6 of these cards because I did not notice they were not Nitro+ cards, and I could not return them once I got them, so I run them at 24 MH/s on ETH and 1000 MH/s on DCR.  Have you found a good way to mod them to get more, because everything I tried just made these pieces of crap trip out?  So I use Claymore's program to adjust the voltage and clocks down and get what I can until the cards die.  I would love to find a set up that is stable and delivers better performance.

These cards do not require a special treatment. Deal with them as other people deal with their 480 4GB.

What are your current settings? What have you tried? What settings do crap out?

Can you do BIOS mod with those non + cards?

For the people talking about burning up equipment...

One easy way to check is check the heat temperatures of the cables running to your riser, especially the Molex.  Are they hot to the touch?

Heck, I also run extra power from one room to another via extension cord. Do you have a 16 gauge or 12 gauge contractor grade extension cord?  The 12 gauge contractor cord is rated for 1600 watts. The 16 gauge which looks similar is thinner and only rated for 1250 and if I got it close to 1250 I noticed the whole extension cord was getting warm.

They make tools to check temperatures. You can get really basic ones for only $20.  Look up "infrared thermometer" on Amazon.  You point it at a part of your equipment and it will show you the temperature.  They also sell high-end ones that show you visually heat so you can run it over all your equipment and easily "see" hot spots.

If you can find a problem this way you can fix it before things go bad.

very good tip the infrared gun
