At 9.0 there are now such saws. 480 8 ref 1150/2100. At 8.1 was not. Driver 16.6.

Pretty profitable to mine ETH+DCR currently on the 470 4GB. Pretty much less than 2 months ROI. Probably won't last.

28.4MH/s ETH + 764MH/s DCR  (DCRI 27) (Default ASM setting)

Hi Guys, this is my first post here on bitcointalk.

I have been using claymore 8.1 for a while now, on a rig with 6x RX470 with modded bios, and was getting around 169Mh/s stable.

with claymore 9.0... this is awkward, i can't seem to get more than 44Mh/s, tried dcri from 1 to 40, no changes whatsoever
Increased ethi to 16, same thing.. nothing changes.

Am I doing something wrong here?

You didn't mention your rig stats, such as PSU, OS, your command line etc. so I'll take a WAG at it. Version 9 draws slightly more power than 8.1. so I would suggest using the -li command line option. If the rig runs better at something like -li 5 you can toy with that to get the best speed you can........and know your PSU isn't enough now. Other than that, I got nothing for ya.

Thanks a lot for your input, I fixed it, anyway, the rig stats are 2xEVGA 750W PSU's, 1 for each of the 3 cards, and one also has the mobo, 6x RX470 Nitro+ bios modded (didn't push too much, they were making 28.1/2 mh/s stable for weeks now, only ETH

The problem was that i hit the stuck 300Mhz GPU Bug for some reason, DDU + 16.11.5 drivers (the last ones that accept modded bioses)

Re-tested, and now using -dcri 4, and doing around 171MH/s total

ETH - Total Speed: 171.024 Mh/s, Total Shares: 17, Rejected: 0, Time: 00:07
ETH: GPU0 28.469 Mh/s, GPU1 28.524 Mh/s, GPU2 28.508 Mh/s, GPU3 28.502 Mh/s, GPU4 28.491 Mh/s, GPU5 28.530 Mh/s
ETH: 04/07/17-03:45:37 - New job from eu1.ethermine.org:4444
ETH - Total Speed: 171.077 Mh/s, Total Shares: 17, Rejected: 0, Time: 00:08
ETH: GPU0 28.446 Mh/s, GPU1 28.532 Mh/s, GPU2 28.512 Mh/s, GPU3 28.515 Mh/s, GPU4 28.542 Mh/s, GPU5 28.530 Mh/s
ETH: 04/07/17-03:45:39 - New job from eu1.ethermine.org:4444
ETH - Total Speed: 171.071 Mh/s, Total Shares: 17, Rejected: 0, Time: 00:08
ETH: GPU0 28.450 Mh/s, GPU1 28.550 Mh/s, GPU2 28.530 Mh/s, GPU3 28.516 Mh/s, GPU4 28.509 Mh/s, GPU5 28.515 Mh/s

I Noticed this because when I went back to Claymore 8.1, it was slow as hell, so... checked the monitors/sensors, and almost slit my wrists, stupid driver bugs that shouldn't even exist!

P.S.: this is my cmdline : EthDcrMiner64.exe  -dcri 4 -cclock 1150 -mclock 2050 -retrydelay 5 -tt -85,-85,-85,-85,-85,-85 -epool eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal 0x31158768c36b20d84cE69354E52c25490ED4282e.Rig1 -epsw x -mode 1

Is there any reason to upgrade to 9.0 if you've got old GPUs? (280/290 etc)

Huge DCR performance boost on 290 when dual mining, you might be power limited though.

I have R9 390 and I'm using 8.1 but there's no rela difference from 7.4. When I try v9 it only works with same or less eth speed and same dcr speed, it can double the dcr speed but no matter what I do, it crashes the whole rig in about 10-20minutes, tried lower ethi, lower dcri, more vdcc, if it has more hash than 8.4, it crashes.

Something is limiting it, you need to find it yourself. No crashes here, it just starts throttling when it hits power limit. +50% to numbers below and still power limited.

How much more power does V9 draw compared to the previous one? right now I'm testing with -3.3% eth speed, +33% dcr speed, removed undervolting completely and gave +20% powerlimit, haven't checked the wallmeter but if this needs 40mv more, that's gotta be at least 10% more power.

All of my DCR shares are getting rejected using 9.0. I mine on supernova (dcr.suprnova.cc)...any idea why? It has been working fine with 8.1.

I believe this problem is related to this pool, sometimes it does not send response to auth message for some reason but still sends jobs, so miner mines but pool does not accept shares.
Miner will reconnect automatically after 10-15 invalid shares, usually the pool accepts auth message at second attempt.
Suprnova Decred pool is complete and utter garbage.  It should be blacklisted from the internet. I would get 95-100% rejects on most rigs, best case like 5-10%. Switched to coinmine, now get under 1% reject.

Some suprnova pools are ok, many are junk.

Totally agree!  In fact, I tried both DCR suprnova & decredpool.org and both were all over the place and far from producing consistent results!  After changing over the coinmine.pl it has been rock solid! Very few rejects and very consistent results day over day that match almost exactly to mining calculators. I was very impressed with coinmine on my Baikal FPGA and have been equally so with their DCR pool! Highly recommended!

Hi I just recently picked up a few msi rx470 4gb and they run very stable but I'm running about 20mh with stock clocks and no mods what is the best way to get some more speed I'm used to playing with r9s so the rx cards are new to me thanks for any help
The real starting point is to mod the vbios. Short of that you are just tweaking your command line and clocks, which will only do so much without the mod.

My seasonic 750w gold  kept up for the last week dual mining gpu-z showing 110w for each card. Now they are undervolted. You mean this is not good for longterm? Mind you i have 4 cards not 6.
Well ive been mining for a week with old settings dual mining gpu-z showing 110w for each card no problem. How will you explain this? They are even undervolted now.
gpuz power in not the same as wall power !
i've :
4*470 on ETH only, ~1075/1900 980mv , 750w at wall
4*470 on ETH+DCR, ~1150/2000 980mv, 850w at wall ( dcri 25 with v9.0, was 35 with v8.1 )

That's some high power consumption.

My 6 RX480 rig pulling 178mh/s solo mining ETH only pulls 810w from the wall Cheesy

1125/2050...... 880mv though Wink

When i set core voltage below 935mV like say 900.. The gpu still uses around 925-935mV.  How do you achieve 880? And when i go below 1100mhz it slightly affects hashing speed.

Make sure to lower the mem voltage (actually is mem controller voltage) to as low as you want your core voltage.. so like put them both at 900mv or whichever value you want

Should core and memory mV match?

I am getting on red when I start the miner "error on parse command line 32 of config.txt" which is -wd 0 in my case. I am running ethos 1.2 (linux) however the miner is up and running.

No error reported back on v8.1

How works voltage on RX ?
Testing differents values with 4*470.
980mV core and 980mV mem. Give ~850w at wall
950mV core and 980mV mem. No change, give ~850w at wall
950mV core and 950mV mem. Give ~790w at wall !
I can't believe put -30mV on mem give -60w at wall !

HD7950 cards lose a hash or two no matter the dcri value.

Mode 1 mining Expanse :
HD7970 (856mV) cards hash around 24mh/s using "dcri 7" in v9 and v8.1.
HD7950(850mV) are stuck at 21-22mh/s+ in v9 compared to 23mh/s+ in v8.1.

Mode 0 dual:  performance appears to be similar in v9 and v8.1.

Ah. I was a fool. Did that in Wattman and voila. 885mV and lower consumption now. Still sam hashes. Thank you.

I believe that when card submits share the speed shows reduced temporarily immediately after.  That's why you get fluctuations.

Claymore, could you confirm this?
