Is there any difference in hashrate between 8G and 4G RX-480s?

Apparently, my RX 480 4 GB Nitro after mod and OC does around 185 and guys here post that stock 8 GB  480 does around 177.

Guessing bios modding? Talking specifically about stock. Modding can't be deployed on a manageable scale.

If someone could figure out how to do that in software, that'd be another and wonderful story.

What vbios are people using for the RX 480 Ref cards?  I've tried a few, but can't get more than 155-160 on 8GB cards on v7.  I've updated motherboard bios and used DDU to install the latest drivers.

Anyone exp this.  Miner will show tons of shares being submitted but nothing accepted.  This happen to me on flypool so I switch to coinmine. But now I'm thinking maybe is glitch. If I teamview in and press s for statistics after showing the stats it will only show a few shares being accepted but many being submitted.  I've only seen this on my msi gaming 5 'mobo with 6x480 with powered USB risers.

yes and I posted few pages ago: Provider/Network quality(upload) made that to half my rigs ( same rigs at two places, one working like that, other perfect ). And I did other test: turn of half rigs and other half now has accepted shares

Interesting.  That would make sense as I'm on sat net at home. And that is the rig effected.  Hmmm. Never has been an issue for me in the past. Got some troubleshooting to do I guess

Thanks

Anybody else having problems with their GPUs?

My R9 Fury X started behaving really strangely. It idles at 65C instead of 27, and as soon as I start mining/playing a game it starts overheating, and after a time the computer just stops.

My rigs are totally fine, but the thing why I think it is related to mining is because I was running 6.0 on my computer when it restarted for the first time (this morning) and since then I can not make it work again.

I tried with a different windows, and I got the same behaviour. Any ideas? (the GPU is still under warranty so I am not worried)
had a similar problem with one of my 480 after update to v7 I tried re installing the driver but no change, this one GPU just kept overhead but after a few restarts of the miner and hard reboot  problem rectified its self,as said check your fan and pump are ok then make sure ur running stock settings hard boot PC and try starting miner a couple of times to see if it fixes its self like mine did

Have you checked to see the fan is spinning, not jammed or broken?

If it is fine, the issue is most likely the thermal paste between the core and heatsink is broken

Thanks for the help!

The BIOS was not modded and I did not overclocked it at all.
The fan is still working and strangely the air that it blows out is cold (even though it says that the GPU is at 70C). So I assume it is the thermal paste then. The good thing is that I managed to get a replacement for the GPU that will arrive in 2 days.

Maybe the pump is dead? If the radiator is cold then pump is dead.

There are so many possible configurations, so that you must tell us EVERY detail before we can start to speculate or analyse.

I don't feel like looking up the exact details 'cause I'm le lazy, and its already mining eth fine now.

Thanks for responding and attempting to help me Smiley
Well, I'm sorry. If you are lazy and just hoping that we could help without any information, please don't bother us!

Best guess is each claymore version uses more and more power.  v7 vs v6 for rx470/480 uses 15% more power or so.  so you just went over the edge of what your motherboard could supply to your gpu's, and it was too much.  thats my guess.  so yes, the software caused the problem - B U T - it was an unsafe setup from the start and you didnt notice anything because the power draw want high enough.  good luck !
thanks,im going to change my MB.its old MB.ill try with a newer .
and usb powered risers my friend Smiley

yes use powered risers always and if the mobo has optional power for molex as mentioned earlier use that as well, i have both on my rigs - no issues, i also use 2 PSU's per rig to balance the load.

thanks!

wtf... I'm only getting 140h/s on those GPUs...
177 is normal for 480 8GB. Must be your hardware.

Could it be my sempron 145? It's not like its just 1 cpu, I'm running 4 of them...
cpu should be ok now since Claymore fixed hi CPU usage a while back, have you disabled crossfire in watman software? Make sure you are running GPU at full clock speed to get these speeds and check your temps to make sure GPU not down clocking with to much heat
